Wen Ziling's experience in love really helped Wen Ziqing a lot. After Wen Ziqing confessed his love to Zhou Yuanyuan, he wanted to give his beloved girl everything he could think of, just to make her smile.
Wen Ziqing had been searching for fireworks for the past few days, just to bring a smile to Zhou Yuanyuan's face today. Before this, Wen Ziqing was feeling very nervous, fearing that Wen Ziling was trying to trick him and that Zhou Yuanyuan didn't like fireworks.
"Brother Ziqing." Zhou Yuanyuan saw Wen Ziqing and quickly waved, signaling Wen Ziqing to come over quickly.
General Zhou's words made Zhou Yuanyuan reflect on herself. These past few days, Wen Ziqing had been following her around like a fool, and Zhou Yuanyuan had seen all of his thoughtfulness and flattery.
But what about Zhou Yuanyuan? She really wasn't invested in this relationship.
Being afraid to possess because of fear of losing? This seems even more foolish. She and Wen Ziqing are now a couple! The giving between lovers is mutual. If Wen Ziqing keeps giving without Zhou Yuanyuan knowing how to respond, their relationship may soon deteriorate.
Zhou Yuanyuan decided that no matter what the outcome would be, she was willing to give it a try.
Seeing the pure smile on Zhou Yuanyuan's face, Wen Ziqing's heart finally settled. He knew Zhou Yuanyuan's hesitation these days, but he was willing to give everything he had, just to wait for her to look back. Now, for some unknown reason, Zhou Yuanyuan seemed to have figured it out. The faint aloofness in her eyes was gone, replaced by pure love.
Wen Ziqing's heart felt like it was soaked in a hot spring, warm and full. The warmth flowed through his limbs and bones, making him feel no coldness of winter at all.
As Wen Ziqing ran to Zhou Yuanyuan's side, fireworks were bursting into life in the sky. Red, green, blue, purple, white... the colorful sparks formed exquisite patterns, bursting into a fleeting brilliance in the starry night sky.
Zhou Yuanyuan was stunned. Something in her heart seemed to be breaking through the soil and slowly sprouting.
The fireworks didn't last long, only about fifteen minutes.
After the prosperity, the sky is still the same sky, and the snowflakes are still fluttering in the sky. However, something seems to be different in everyone's heart. Everyone laments the brevity and beauty of fireworks.
Just over a hundred meters away from the military compound where General Zhou lived, Wen Ziyun watched the dazzling fireworks in the sky gradually dissipate before turning around and walking towards the Wen family dejectedly.
After leaving the old house in the afternoon, Wen Ziyun wandered around the streets. When it was getting dark, he realized that he had unknowingly arrived near the military compound.
Wen Ziyun gazed at the three-story building that housed General Zhou's family, a wave of bitterness welling up in his eyes. If he hadn't fought back his tears, they would have covered his face. In that building lived the girl he loved, Zhou Yuanyuan. Ever since she was ten years old, he, Wen Ziyun, had always held her in his heart. Unfortunately, Zhou Yuanyuan didn't like him. Perhaps, in Zhou Yuanyuan's eyes, he, Wen Ziyun, wasn't even worth a finger of Wen Ziqing's?
Why? The girl he liked was so dismissive of him? Whenever Wen Ziyun thought of Zhou Yuanyuan's disgusted look, his heart went cold. It wasn't his fault he couldn't become the Wen family's eldest grandson, nor was it his fault he couldn't become the next heir to the patriarchate. He had clearly tried so hard to catch up with his elder brother. But his grandfather and uncle only had their elder brother in their eyes and hearts. Wen Ziqing's excellence made him, Wen Ziyun, seem even more ordinary.
Under the fluttering snowflakes, Wen Ziyun stared at General Zhou's house motionlessly. In less than an hour, Wen Ziyun's whole body was covered with a layer of snow.
When Wen Ziqing went back and came back, he did not take the same road that Wen Ziyun was taking now. Therefore, Wen Ziyun did not know that Wen Ziqing had left Zhou Yuanyuan and returned to Zhou Yuanyuan. Seeing that the fireworks in the sky above General Zhou's house had dissipated and the surroundings had returned to silence, Wen Ziyun turned around and prepared to go home.
When Wen Ziyun came out, Wu Xiuli hadn't lost her temper yet, so Wen Ziyun didn't know that Wu Xiuli had taken Wen Ziqiu back to her grandmother's house because of him. After the anger and sadness subsided, Wen Ziyun just felt cold and his stomach was rumbling with hunger.
On the night of New Year's Eve, no shops in Kyoto were open. With nowhere else to go, Wen Ziyun chose to return to Wen Yiran's home. Regardless of whether Wen Yiran liked him or not, Wen Ziyun had lived there for seven or eight years and considered Wen Yiran's home his temporary home.
When Wen Ziyun returned home, the house was pitch black.
Because of Wu Xiuli's disturbance, Wen Yiran and the others had no mood to stay up all night and play. When midnight came, Wen Yiran and Wen Yuxiang went outside the courtyard gate to set off firecrackers to welcome the New Year, and then the family went upstairs to sleep.
Fighting his hunger, Wen Ziyun found some frozen dumplings in the refrigerator. After cooking them in the kitchen, he devoured a large bowl of them.
After eating, Wen Ziyun prepared to go upstairs to sleep. He had been wandering around outside for nearly ten hours without feeling tired, but now, in the dead of night, fatigue washed over him, and he could barely open his eyes.
Wen Ziyun's bedroom was on the second floor, diagonally opposite Wen Ziqing. Wen Ziyun stood in front of his bedroom door, and somehow, he turned and came to the door of Wen Ziqing's bedroom.
Wen Ziyun stood outside the door, holding his breath and listening carefully to the movement inside. It was quiet inside and Wen Ziyun didn't hear a single sound.
Wen Ziqing wasn't at home during the Lunar New Year? Wen Ziqing stayed with Zhou Yuanyuan, who had a bright smile on her face?
Wen Ziyun thought this in his heart, and his hands were not idle either. He grabbed the handle of Wen Ziqing's door and turned it.
The door was not locked, and Wen Ziyun opened it with just a twist.
The bedroom was pitch black. Wen Ziyun pressed the switch by the door, and the light came on. The neatly arranged quilt and sheets on the bed told Wen Ziyun that Wen Ziqing was indeed not at home.
Wen Ziyun closed the door and walked to Wen Ziqing's bed. He shook out the quilt that was folded into a tofu cube on the bed as if to vent his anger, and ruffled the neatly arranged sheets.
After doing these things, Wen Ziyun walked to the door and wanted to go back to his room to sleep. He turned around and looked at the big bed that seemed a little messy. Wen Ziyun simply took off his coat and slept on Wen Ziqing's bed.
