My cousin laughed heartily, "What's so hard about it? I raised this guy since he was a baby, he's like my son. It's only right that I take care of him. Now I just hope he can marry a loving and caring wife soon, then I can rest easy."

Quanzi shook her head, disagreeing with her cousin's statement. "Appearance and education are secondary; the most important things are character and a sense of responsibility."
Her ex-husband was handsome, well-educated, and successful in his career, but he had another family outside, with an izakaya hostess who was inferior to her in every way. They had been together for ten years, but she had never known it.
If her cousin hadn't reminded her before she went back, she might have continued to be deceived, allowing that man to enjoy the pleasures of having two women.
