Chapter 2005 The Calf

After nearly three hours of effort, the chubby baby, born in the year of the tortoise, finally emerged.

Her loud cries were just like her mother's. She was quite tall, with thick, black hair, wide-open eyes, and waving her arms and legs excitedly.

"Eight pounds and six ounces, a big, chubby girl."

The nurse gave the baby a bath, carefully wrapped him up, weighed him, and handed him to Miao Tianxiang and her family, who were already eagerly waiting.

Miao Tianxiang was supposed to pick up the child, but she hesitated and gave the child to Huizi, saying, "You hold the child first, I'm afraid the child will fall."

She had never held a child before. What if such a small child fell or got hurt? Huizi smiled, picked up the crying chubby girl in her arms, and carefully supported the child's neck with one hand, demonstrating to Miao Tianxiang.

“The child’s bones haven’t fully developed, and the neck area is very fragile. You can’t hold the child upright; you have to hold them horizontally and support them with your hands.”

Miao Tianxiang nodded repeatedly, carefully noting it down. She hadn't expected there to be so many rules about holding a baby. She looked at the little one with joy, "Her eyes are like her father's, her mouth is like Tianxiong's, and overall she looks like her father."

"Why can't he be like me? I'll chop that bastard up when I wake up!"

Exhausted, Miao Tianxiong flew into a rage upon hearing that the child didn't resemble her. He wanted nothing more than to get out of bed and cut off his penis right then and there, but he was too weak to do so and drifted off to sleep.

Ding Ba trembled, his heart heavy. He wanted to chop him up every day, but he couldn't let him go, he didn't dare to scold him, and he didn't even dare to think about beating him. When would his miserable days end?

"Pfft... pfft..."

The chubby girl cried for a while and then quieted down. She opened her eyes wide and curiously looked around at the new world, occasionally blowing bubbles, which made everyone adore her and they all gathered around her.

"Please ask your father-in-law to give the child a proper name!"

Miao Tianxiang entrusted the glorious task of naming the child to Inukai Yoshi, since she had already taken the surname from him, and she couldn't push her luck.

Inukai Yoshi was very excited. "I'll go back and think about it carefully. The name can't be ambiguous. It must be an elegant and grand name."

"I've already thought of a nickname, it'll be Turtle, slow and steady, Turtle is just right..."

Ding Ba walked over and said that he had been kicked by several elders and had rolled into a corner.

Ye Qingqing suppressed a laugh, knowing that Ding Ba's future life would definitely not be too wonderful. The happy life he had when he was first recognized was probably the peak of his life.

"How about we name him Niu Niu? He's slow-moving, and he's a cow, so a calf would be fine too..."

Ding Ba, in high spirits, casually brushed the dust off his clothes and continued to name his daughter. "Turtle" was indeed too straightforward, "Ox" was quite good, and beef was also quite delicious.

Gong Zhu, unable to bear it any longer, took off her shoe and swung it at Ding Ba, hitting him squarely in the face. "Shut up, or I'll skin you alive if you keep making trouble."

Ding Ba shrank back. He wasn't just making a fuss; he was seriously thinking about a name. "Cow" was better than "rabbit," right? They say a humble name is easier to raise, so why bother with something elegant and grand? "Cow" is fine.

Miao Tianxiang looked thoughtful and said, "Niu Niu does sound bad, but Niu Niu is quite nice. We have a saying where we're from that the child should be given a normal nickname so that the child will be healthy and strong. What do you think of Niu Niu?"

Huizi nodded. "I've heard that saying too. A formal name should be elegant, and a nickname like Niu Niu is fine. It's easy to pronounce, so I'll call her Niu Niu."

"Look...the little one is smiling, she likes her name..."

The chubby girl was blowing bubbles when Huizi called out "Niu Niu," and she grinned, just like the chubby baby in the New Year's picture.

Ding Ba smugly wiped the shoe dust off his face. "Hmph, in the end, they still have to use his name!"
