"You really should apologize. I'll make arrangements for you!" Princess Luo said sternly. Her son had truly wronged that poor girl, and an apology was the right thing to do.
“I’ll make my own arrangements, Mom. You should go back and take care of your business. I’d like to stay here for a few days,” Edward pleaded.
Princess Luo looked at him suspiciously, and he quickly promised, "I will never see Julie again. If I can't do that, then let me become an ugly monster."
He already knew Julie's ugly face, so how could he possibly see that woman again? He just wanted to stay and see if he could do anything for Basha, otherwise he wouldn't be able to rest easy.
Princess Luo was finally relieved. Her son valued his appearance most of all. He would rather die than become ugly. Since he had made such a promise, he must have truly changed his mind.
She could also see why Edward wanted to stay—he simply wanted to help that poor Basha. Princess Luo didn't object; if she could help, she should, because the child was truly pitiful.
Princess Luo rushed back that day. She had a lot of official business to attend to, and she had squeezed out this little bit of time from her sleep. Moreover, her status made it unsuitable for her to stay in T country for too long. If she were photographed by reporters, it would probably arouse speculation and spread rumors among some people with ulterior motives.
Lu Mo personally saw Princess Luo off. Edward, sporting panda eyes and a swollen face, stubbornly stayed on. Gongsun Lin wanted nothing more than to kick him out with a broom, but Kagel stopped her.
"Go pick a room yourself, stay as long as you like, don't be shy." Kagel smiled, acting like the host, ignoring Gongsun Lin's eye roll.
After seeing through Julie's facade, Edward's intelligence returned completely. After a moment's thought, he realized the key point and exclaimed, "That night, were you two..."
Besides Basha, he remembered that Gongsun Lin hadn't returned either, nor had Kagel.
Now that these two are acting so intimately, something unusual must have happened that night.
"It's just what you think, Catherine might be carrying my baby. Our wedding is in December, come to the wedding banquet!" Kagel readily admitted.
Edward nodded vigorously. "Congratulations! I will definitely participate."
"Who wants to be with you..."
Gongsun Lin only managed to shout half a sentence before Kagel covered her mouth and made a series of muffled noises. However, Kagel was completely helpless against this guy. He couldn't beat him, and he was shameless enough to be driven away no matter what.
Ye Qingqing found it amusing. As the saying goes, every creature has its nemesis. Gongsun Lin and Kager were actually quite well-matched, destined to be unable to escape Kager's grasp.
She and Lu Mo are returning to China tomorrow. Before leaving, she visited Basha at the sanatorium. Edward wanted to come along, but she refused. She and Basha had something to say to each other, and she couldn't bring him along.
Basha's treatment at the sanatorium was quite good; she had a private room. Although it couldn't compare to the luxury of the palace, it was clean and tidy, and Basha looked to be in good spirits. She was enjoying the peaceful life here.
The king has completely given up on this daughter, so Basha is much freer here than in the palace. As long as she doesn't make a fuss, the sanatorium won't bother her and lets her go wherever she wants. Ye Qingqing took her to the woods, where there's no need to worry about being overheard.
"Qingqing, I want to escape in the next few days." Basha's words surprised Ye Qingqing.
