“You’ve never gone hungry or cold, and you even went to university. You’re the golden phoenix that flew out of the village. Your parents spoil you, and Tiedan indulges you. You have every right to be proud, and you certainly don’t need to put your elder sister and me in your eyes. But what right do you have to talk about us? What have you contributed to this family? I think you’re just talking without understanding the situation. Don’t try to preach to me. I didn’t ask you for any money. Go away, or I’ll slap you across the face if you keep spouting nonsense!”
Niu Erjie also stood up, glaring fiercely at Ya Dan. The two sisters were much older than each other, but they looked more like mother and daughter.
“I haven’t contributed to the family, so I didn’t ask my brother to build me a house. You keep asking my brother for money. Do you think my brother is living too comfortably? My brother’s money just falls from the sky.”
Ya Dan wasn't afraid at all. She stuck out her neck and shouted, "My brother-in-law spends most of the year working outside. My sister-in-law has to sell meat buns and meat pies and manage the company's business. She's so busy every day that she doesn't even have enough time to sleep. They earn their money through hard work and blood, unlike you guys who sit at home all day and relax. When you don't have money, you just ask my brother-in-law for it!"
She stayed at Tang Yuanyuan's place for a few months and witnessed firsthand how hard Tang Yuanyuan worked, constantly busy and never having a moment to rest. She was nothing like her older sisters who were so relaxed and carefree.

After getting married, Tang Yuanyuan was no longer as plump as she was when she was a girl. She was too thin now, but no matter what he tried, his wife just couldn't gain weight. Today he realized that it was because he was too tired.
Ya Dan sneered, "Of course your sister-in-law wouldn't tell you. She feels sorry for you working so hard outside, so she takes care of everything at home herself and doesn't want you to worry about anything. I only found out after living with her for a few months that she never goes to bed early. If she can go to bed at midnight, that's considered early."
"Are you going to stare at people sleeping all day? How tired can city people be? They don't have to work in the fields or go up the mountain to chop firewood. Who are you trying to fool with these words?" Sister Niu Er didn't believe it at all.
In her view, the city is paradise, and everyone living in the city is relaxed and carefree, hundreds of times happier than people in the countryside. How could they possibly be suffering? This brat has definitely been bribed by Tang Yuanyuan and is speaking up for Tang Yuanyuan against her conscience.
"All you see as work is farming and chopping wood. In the city, where do you get money if you don't work? You have to pay for every drop of water and every scallion.
