It took Ye Qingqing a while to remember who Wang Meie was. When she heard the voice on the phone, she realized it was Sister Wang. Guan Yongqing must be making rounds; it was during working hours.
"Qingqing, do you have time to come to the hospital?" Sister Wang's voice was still hoarse, but it had gained some strength.
Gu Nianci has been going to the hospital for the past two days. She hasn't missed a single millet porridge or fish soup. "Didn't they send anyone to take care of you?" Ye Qingqing frowned.
Sister Wang sneered, "My youngest daughter-in-law came to visit this morning, but left saying she had something to do at home. I haven't seen her all afternoon. I don't expect anything from them anymore. They'd only cause trouble if they came. It's better if they don't."
This serious illness made her see things clearly and make a big decision.
