Ye Qingqing sneered inwardly. Taking advantage of the 'old man's' relaxation, she turned around and stabbed him with a needle. Caught off guard, the 'old man' was hit squarely and could not move at all, his expression filled with fear.
"Guards! Protect Father!" Julie screamed.
The king was startled. A dozen or so guards suddenly appeared and surrounded him, glaring menacingly at Ye Qingqing and Lu Mo.
Ye Qingqing smiled slightly, raised the golden needles in her hand, and said sarcastically, "Your Highness is making a fuss over nothing. I'm treating this 'old man's' hidden ailment. Why are you yelling like a market vendor?"
The king saw the thin, hair-like gold needle in Ye Qingqing's hand and breathed a sigh of relief. He waved for the guards to leave and felt a little displeased with Julie. He was a wise and mighty king; how could he be afraid of a tiny gold needle that made him lose face?
Julie gritted her teeth and asked with a forced smile, "What is this old gentleman's hidden ailment?"
"This is it..."
Ye Qingqing gave the frozen 'old man' a sly smile, ripped off the wig from his head, revealing short, shiny black hair, and then ripped off his shirt, revealing his muscular physique, which was completely different from the wrinkles on his face and neck.
The king was taken aback. "What...what's going on?"
Ye Qingqing smiled and said, "This gentleman is not old at all, he is no more than thirty years old, he is very healthy, and he has no hidden illnesses."
She then looked at the astonished 'old man,' pricked him, and laughed, 'Now you can show your true colors!'
The man stirred, his eyes widening in surprise. He was deeply impressed by Ye Qingqing. He bowed to the king and withdrew, returning a few minutes later. He was now dressed neatly, a handsome young man with an extraordinary air about him. Judging from his attire, he was likely a palace guard.
"It was you! Haha... You even fooled me! Your makeup skills are superb! Doctor Ye is indeed a descendant of Hua Tuo, amazing!" The king recognized the young man as his most trusted guard. He hadn't recognized him before, but Ye Qingqing could tell he was an imposter. The king was completely impressed by her and dispelled his doubts.
Julie gritted her teeth, the veins on the back of her hands bulging, but her face remained expressionless. Her mind raced; she couldn't let this golden opportunity slip by. She had to find a way to get Ye Qingqing to stay overnight at the palace.
The king agreed to let Ye Qingqing treat him and extended his hand for her to take his pulse. Julie's heart raced, and she lowered her head slightly, her eyes flashing with panic. Ye Qingqing's medical skills were superb; could she see the problem?
Ye Qingqing calmly checked the king's pulse. The poisonous fire in the king's body was very serious, and it had seeped into all his internal organs. The king was like a big tree with lush branches and leaves, but the heart of the tree had been hollowed out by termites. A typhoon would be enough to knock down the tree.
"Does His Majesty have a physical examination every month?" Ye Qingqing asked.
"Of course, I have a check-up every two weeks," the king replied proudly.
Ye Qingqing looked at Julie. This woman's power in the palace was greater than she had imagined. Even the king's personal physician was controlled by this woman. Otherwise, the king would have been able to discover that there was something wrong with his body.
"Dr. Ye, can my angina be cured?" the king asked.
Ye Qingqing's smile faded, and she said worriedly, "His Majesty's health was originally very good. If I had met His Majesty five years earlier, I would definitely have been able to cure your angina, but now..."
