Lu Mo drove to the grain bureau's staff quarters where Sister Wang lived. The old-style staff quarters were difficult to park, so Lu Mo parked outside and went inside with Ning Shuang. They met Aunt Lu downstairs.
Aunt Lu rushed over and whispered, "Don't go up there. Those four siblings are causing a ruckus in Heaven. I've come out to lay low."
"Didn't your aunt go back to her hometown?" Ye Qingqing asked.
Aunt Lu shook her head. "Aunt Wang is kind-hearted. She introduced me to another family, an elderly couple. They provide room and board, and I can earn three hundred yuan a month."
She originally wanted to go back to her hometown, but Sister Wang knew that her family was having financial difficulties and that there was a problem with her child's tuition fees, so she helped her contact an elderly couple in a residential building. The couple were both in good health, and Aunt Lu only needed to do housework and cook three meals a day, which was much easier than staying at home.
Three hundred yuan a month is the current rate for a nanny. There are some who charge five hundred yuan, but the clients are either paralyzed elderly people or babies who need help with diapers and bowel movements, which is especially tiring. It's much easier to do it this way, and the elderly couple are very easy to talk to. They can let Sister Wang go back to stay for two days a month, just like going to work.
Ye Qingqing was happy for her and asked about the four siblings.
Aunt Lu shook her head. "First, my eldest daughter-in-law came over with a down jacket, but Aunt Wang and Uncle Ma had already gone to the airport. I was still cleaning. Once I finished, I went to the new owner's house. My eldest daughter-in-law asked me, and I said I didn't know. Now all four of my siblings are chasing after me asking about Aunt Wang and her whereabouts!"
The four siblings were acting like madmen. The elderly couple were worried that the four of them would do something bad, so they asked Aunt Lu to come out and avoid them until those four ungrateful wretches left before going back.
"They're looking for you too. Don't go up there. These people are crazy; they can't reason with you," Aunt Lu advised.
Ye Qingqing was certainly not afraid of these four ingrates, since Lu Mo was there, but there was really no need for her to get involved with them.
“Let’s go back and ignore them!” Ye Qingqing said.
Lu Mo nodded, put his arm around Ye Qingqing's shoulder and walked back, but an angry shout came from behind, "Stop right there! I was just about to go find you, you brat! Stop right there!"
The second son, his eyes bloodshot, ran while shouting, followed by several others, all with expressions that looked like they wanted to devour him.
Lu Mo shielded Ye Qingqing behind him, blocking her way, and coldly watched these people.
The second son came running over, panting. When he saw Lu Mo, he instinctively shrank back, but his greed for wealth overcame his fear. He shouted, "Where did you hide my mother? You must have hidden her to trick her into giving you the treasure. Hand it over now!"
The eldest son and the others also ran over, panting, glaring at Ye Qingqing with resentment and their faces contorted in rage.
"You can't even keep an eye on your own mother, so you come to ask me, an outsider. You're all ridiculous." Ye Qingqing peeked out from Lu Mo's arms and mocked him, showing no fear whatsoever.
"Did you harm my mother and try to keep the baby for yourself? I'm going to sue you, you just wait!" the second son yelled.
"Go ahead and sue me now, I'm waiting!" Ye Qingqing sneered.
"I'll beat you to death, you little brat!"
The second son was furious and, driven by malice, stepped forward to hit Ye Qingqing. Lu Mo easily grabbed the second son with one hand and then gently flung him to the ground, where he was unable to move.
"Who dares to make a move?"
Lu Mo gave a light shout, and his eldest son and the others fell silent, not daring to utter a sound. This was a formidable figure, not someone they could afford to offend.
Two men in suits walked over, and seeing the large group of people in front of them, shook their heads slightly and asked loudly, "Are the four siblings Liang Dewen, Liang Deping, Liang Deya, and Liang Delin all here?"
