Chapter 219 Two Consecutive Losses

"draw?"

Ye Qingqing shook her head.

"Sing?"

"No, don't guess it's artistic, guess it's profound," Ye Qingqing suggested.

Lu Mo frowned. He thought mathematics was profound enough, but this girl said it wasn't. Was it philosophy?

"You're so stupid! It's Go. Xiaotong is a Go genius. Do you even know Go? Want to play a game with Xiaotong?"

Lu Mo guessed several times but failed. Ye Qingqing couldn't hold back any longer and told him everything, looking smug and eager to show off Ye Tong's Go talent so that Lu Mo could have a good look at it.

"Xiaotong knows how to play Go?"

Lu Mo was genuinely surprised. Go is a game that demands extremely high intelligence. He knew a little about it, but he lacked the patience and couldn't calculate overly complex variables. If Ye Tong truly had a talent for Go, it would indeed be better than studying mathematics.

"That's right, Xiaotong just beat two teachers from school!" Ye Qingqing said proudly, and couldn't help but give Ye Tong a big kiss on the cheek.

If anyone dares to call Xiaotong an idiot again, she'll smear that person's mouth with dog poop!

Lu Mo asked Ye Qingqing to go to his room and bring out a chessboard and chess pieces, which he then placed on the table. Ye Tong's eyes lit up as soon as she saw the black and white chess pieces, and she was clearly delighted.

"Xiaotong, you go first!"

Lu Mo took the white piece; after all, he was an adult, so of course he had to let the child have the lead.

Ye Qingqing snorted and said deliberately, "Don't underestimate Xiao Tong. She'll beat you to a pulp in no time."

Lu Mo glanced at her indifferently and said softly, "I'm not that bad!"

Although he was only at an amateur level, he had studied seriously and even participated in competitions when he was a child. His skill level was quite good among amateur Go players.

Even if Ye Tong is a genius, his age is a factor, and this is his first time playing Go. Lu Mo still has that much confidence.

but--

After playing a few moves with Ye Tong, Lu Mo's expression became serious. Ye Tong's chess moves were completely haphazard, not following any chess manuals at all. Every move she made was very strange, and she wouldn't let go of any piece.

It took Lu Mo a full ten minutes to defeat Ye Tong and eat Hei Zi, but he was also exhausted and covered in sweat, so he couldn't help but feel secretly relieved.

Luckily he won, otherwise that girl would definitely laugh at him!

"Don't be sad, Xiaotong. You'll definitely win in the future," Ye Qingqing whispered to comfort the silent Ye Tong.

But Ye Tong ignored him, staring intently at the chessboard, his expression thoughtful.

Ye Qingqing wanted to persuade him further, but Lu Mo shook his head at her, "Xiao Tong is reflecting on his actions, don't disturb him!"

As soon as she finished speaking, Ye Tong's eyes lit up, and she looked at Lu Mo ingratiatingly, "Brother-in-law, let's play again."

Lu Mo smiled bitterly to himself. He really didn't want to play with the little brat anymore; it was too tiring. But looking at Ye Tong's bright eyes, he couldn't bear to refuse and could only nod.

This round took even longer, a full fifteen minutes, before Lu Mo barely managed to defeat Hei Zi. He was sweating even more, and the back of his clothes was soaked.

Ye Tong, on the other hand, was quite relaxed, staring intently at the chessboard as he began to meditate.

"Xiao Tong, have a popsicle, don't overthink it." Ye Qingqing tempted Ye Tong with a cream popsicle, but Ye Tong remained unmoved, her eyes fixed on the chessboard, as if she were in a daze.

Ye Qingqing grew anxious and tried to take the chessboard away, but Lu Mo stopped her, saying, "Don't disturb Xiao Tong. He'll wake up once he's figured things out."

"Are you really alright?" Ye Qingqing was still worried.

“If you go and bother Xiaotong now, then something really is wrong.”

Lu Mo patiently persuaded him, explaining that he had been through similar experiences. When he was a child, if he lost a game of chess, he couldn't eat or sleep, and he would insist on finding out why he lost, as if he were possessed.
