The next day, after having breakfast at the hotel, Ye Qingqing and Lu Mo set off for Hangzhou and Wucheng. Staying in each place for one day would take up two days, so Lin Shufang told them to take their time.
"No rush, drive slowly. I know this place very well. What could possibly happen here? You can come back after you've taken care of things."
"Aunt Fang, you must hold onto the old house. It would be such a waste to sell such a big place." Ye Qingqing was afraid that Lin Shufang would soften her heart; Yang Jinfeng was too good at pestering people.
“I definitely won’t sell it. I can’t bear to part with the old house when I come back. After all, it’s my parents’ life’s work. It would be too unfilial to sell it.” Lin Shufang felt a little ashamed, thinking that it was too unfilial of her to want to sell the house before. Fortunately, Qingya stopped her.
The old man laughed and said, "I'll keep an eye on things. You should hurry up and set off. The sooner you go, the sooner you'll be back."
Ye Qingqing and Lu Mo then set off, and Gongsun Lin and Ruan Yingzi went along as well. They wanted to go to Hangzhou and spend a couple of days there before meeting up with Ye Qingqing and the others on their way back.
"I want to see the Broken Bridge in the Snow, Leifeng Pagoda, Three Pools Mirroring the Moon, and the food there is also very famous. Song Sao Fish Soup and Beggar's Chicken are famous dishes..." Ruan Yingzi's face lit up, making herself drool.
Gongsun Lin swallowed. She didn't know much about Chinese legends and history, but that didn't stop her from loving Chinese cuisine. Just hearing about these dishes made her mouth water.
"We're going to Lou Wai Lou restaurant by West Lake later. It's said that the food there is the most authentic, and leaders and foreign guests all eat there. They also have Dongpo pork and West Lake lotus seed soup, which are all very delicious," Ye Qingqing said.
Lou Wai Lou is excellent in both its dishes and snacks, though the prices are a bit high, which is understandable given its location by West Lake.
But for Ruan Yingzi and Gongsun Lin, money is not an issue; these two girls are not short of money at all.
"Okay, I'm going to eat my way through Hangzhou!" Ruan Yingzi made a grand vow, and her chin seemed a bit rounder. She hadn't wasted any of the food she had eaten these past few days; it was all a reward for her efforts.
They arrived in Hangzhou around 10 a.m. and went straight to West Lake. It wasn't peak tourist season, so there weren't many tourists at West Lake, and it wasn't the most beautiful time to visit either.
The best seasons to appreciate the beauty of West Lake are summer and winter. In summer, you can admire the lotus flowers, and in winter, you can enjoy the snow. The Broken Bridge in the Snow is a world-famous scenic spot, but in her previous life, Ye Qingqing went there several times on snowy days, and all she saw were crowds of people, which made her feel very depressed.
Moreover, she really couldn't appreciate the beauty of this scenic spot. Perhaps it was because there were too many people, but its world-renowned status was probably more due to the charm of the legend itself and people's yearning for love.
Although it was winter, it hadn't snowed yet. The north wind was howling by West Lake, and the lotus leaves in the lake had all withered, so there wasn't much to see. But they couldn't leave empty-handed, so they chartered a boat, which was just right for the four of them. They rowed around West Lake and took a look at Three Pools Mirroring the Moon.
Because there weren't many tourists, Lou Wai Lou, which usually requires advance reservations, still had empty seats. The four of us ordered a large table of dishes, all of which were their signature dishes. The food was really delicious, and before we knew it, we had finished the whole table of food, leaving only a pile of bones.
"Beggar's chicken is so delicious! Can you mail it to me? I'd like to send some to my parents so they can try it." After eating and drinking her fill, Ruan Yingzi remembered that she wanted to do something to show her filial piety.
"I want to bring a few for my great-grandfather too. The meat is tender and delicious, and my great-grandfather can chew it." Gongsun Lin was not to be outdone.
"If it's packaged well, it can definitely be shipped. You can talk to the manager yourselves. If you have a large quantity, you need to order in advance."
Ye Qingqing gave a few instructions, and then she and Lu Mo went to buy a stall. Once the stall was set up, they would go directly to Wucheng, spend the night there, and return the next day.
