Ye Yunxi thought for a moment and then spoke.
"I want a helicopter or a cruise ship."
The Lu family gasped in surprise. This little girl had quite an appetite, immediately asking for helicopters and yachts.
They have a helicopter, but not a cruise ship. If they don't give her the helicopter today, they won't give the old man his asthma medication either.
Heng Yi was also taken aback by Ye Yunxi's words. He hadn't expected that this was what she wanted. He had thought she wanted supplies or something else.
Uncle Hengyi asked tentatively.
"Young lady, if we don't have either of those two things you mentioned, could we exchange them for your asthma medication?"
Ye Yunxi shook her head. "No trade. In this apocalypse, survival is difficult enough, and getting sick is like being killed. Medicine is incredibly hard to come by, even if it's available. Besides, I'm giving you a whole box, not just one pill."
"I don't need anything else, I just need a helicopter or a cruise ship. If your Lu family doesn't have either of those, then I can't give you my medicine."
After much deliberation and weighing the pros and cons, Hengyi's father said...
"Okay, I agree, but we don't have the cruise ship you mentioned, we only have helicopters. We'll trade the helicopter for one box of your medicine."
Hengyi's second uncle berated his elder brother.
"Brother, are you crazy? How can you give a helicopter to a stranger?"
"Hengyi's second uncle's son said, "Hengyi, look at the kind of people you brought. They immediately asked for helicopters and cruise ships. It's just a box of medicine. Is it really necessary to give away a helicopter?"
Ye Yunxi wasn't annoyed. She glanced at the Lu family members and finally looked at Hengyi's parents.
"This isn't a gift, it's a transaction. I give you the medicine, and you give me what I want—that's a deal. Or rather, your Lu family doesn't want to save the old man. If that's the case, then I won't keep you company any longer and will take my leave."
"Wait a minute, little girl," Hengyi's father called out. He then looked at his good-for-nothing second brother and sister-in-law.
"Don't you want to save Dad? Don't you want him to wake up and stay with us? Second brother, think about it yourself. When you were little, Dad loved you the most. He always gave you the first fun things and the best food. I was the second."
And you, second sister-in-law, think about yourself. If it weren't for the money Dad gave you, your father would have died long ago.
"If you won't save Dad, I will! I just want him to live. If you're unwilling to pay, I'll pay. But once Dad wakes up, if you have any problems in the future, you'll have to deal with them yourselves. Don't expect us to put in a good word for you."
Hengyi's uncle glared at his second brother and sister-in-law and said to his eldest brother.
"Big brother, count me in. You provide the helicopter, and I'll provide four barrels of gasoline."
Hengyi's second uncle and aunt said loudly.
"Don't blame us for not warning you. If this little girl is a fraud and tries to scam you with fake medicine, it will be too late to regret it."
Heng Yi immediately stood up and spoke up for Ye Yunxi.
“Mom and Dad, Uncle, I believe her. Last year, when I was playing with some friends, I accidentally injured my leg. It was her teacher who saved me and let her learn from me.”
Her mentor was Dr. Ye, you know him, the very famous doctor.
When Ye Yunxi heard Heng Yi say that, she seemed to remember something. Her master had saved a young man with a leg injury. So it was him! No wonder he was so surprised to see her at the hospital earlier.
Hengyi's parents knew some things about their son, as did Old Master Ye and the others. They trusted their son's words.
Hengyi's father looked at Ye Yunxi.
“Young lady, I believe what my son said, and I believe you can save my old man’s life. He’s in his bedroom upstairs right now. I’ll take you there to see him.”
Ye Yunxi nodded and followed Hengyi's father into the house and upstairs. Of course, the Lu family members also came along.
They arrived at the old man's room, walked to the bedside, Ye Yunxi reached out and pried open the old man's eyes, looked at them, and then took his pulse.
After taking his pulse, Ye Yunxi took out a box of asthma medicine from her backpack, opened one pill, and picked up the water from the bedside table to feed the old man the medicine. She noticed something wrong with the water and asked them to pour her another glass.
When Hengyi fetched water again, he fed the old man his medicine himself.
After Hengyi fed the medicine, he turned to them and said.
"Old Master Lu is not in any life-threatening danger. He has just fallen into a coma. We have already given him his medicine. Let's wait and see."
Heng Yi asked Ye Yunxi, "When will my grandfather wake up?"
Ye Yunxi just took the old man's pulse and found that he was slightly poisoned. Fortunately, the poisoning wasn't severe; she would find a chance to tell Hengyi's father later. Also, the old man had just taken his medicine, so the effects wouldn't be immediate, but he would wake up soon if things went smoothly.
"He'll wake up soon, just wait."
A group of people waited in Old Master Lu's bedroom for about half an hour before he woke up. The Lu family members quickly went over and surrounded him.
He asked how he was doing, and only after hearing Old Master Lu speak did the eldest brother of the Lu family feel relieved. So he came out and said to Ye Yunxi.
"Young lady, thank you for the medicine. If it weren't for you, my dad would probably be..."
Ye Yunxi interrupted Heng Yi's father.
"Uncle, there's something strange about the old man's situation. Come here, and I'll explain it to you in detail."
Ye Yunxi pulled Hengyi's father aside and whispered something to him.
