The soldier named Xiao Wang answered and immediately ran out to call the other soldiers.
When the other soldiers arrived, Jiang Zheyu gave them instructions.
"First, sort out the supplies and move them out. When our trucks arrive, we'll load them onto the trucks and bring them back to our Moon Kirin Gang."
"Yes, sir." The soldiers were very excited to see so many supplies. They were no longer afraid of going hungry.
On the other side, Ye Yunxi and Fu Heng were driving a campervan, not knowing where they were going. They were currently in Le City.
They didn't know where Yan Luo had taken Shen Nuoyang, nor did he leave the location of his hideout before leaving.
A month later, earthquakes are no longer so frequent; when they do occur, they don't last very long.
That day, Ye Yunxi and Fu Heng arrived at a place called Linzhi.
This is a vast plain, essentially a grassland before the apocalypse.
From a distance, it appears to be a village surrounded by Mongolian settlements and a fence.
Ye Yunxi saw the yurt in the distance and said to Fu Heng.
"Aheng, why don't we stay here tonight and ask the locals? Also, if they have any cattle or sheep, we can trade them grain for them."
Gu Qingqing was delighted to hear that Ye Yunxi wanted to trade grain for cattle and sheep.
“Okay, Sister Yunxi, if we can exchange it, let’s exchange it. We’ve run out of meat lately, so it would be best if we could exchange it for some fresh beef and lamb.”
Zhang Jing teased Gu Qingqing, "You! All you ever think about is eating meat."
When Gu Qingqing heard Zhang Jing teasing her, she made a funny face at Zhang Jing.
"Don't you want to eat meat, Ah Jing? I don't believe you!"
Zhang Jing thought about the sausages and canned meat they had brought, and realized that they really didn't have much left; they had been eating them sparingly these past few days.
Lu Hengyi had suggested that Xuan Yu could bring out his family's supplies to eat, but they all said that the supplies they brought could last for a while, and they would only eat Lu's family's supplies if they really had nothing else to eat.
Ye Yunxi smiled when she saw their expressions, but didn't say anything.
Fu Heng knew that Ye Yunxi wanted to improve their meals and didn't want to take advantage of Lu Hengyi.
"Okay, I'll ask them later."
Fu Heng stopped the car when it was about 100 or 200 meters away from the yurt.
Lu Hengyi and the others, who were behind them, also stopped, not understanding why.
Fu Heng parked the car and got out with Ye Yunxi and the others.
When Lu Hengyi and the others saw that Ye Yunxi and the others had gotten out of the car, they also got out of the car.
Before they could even ask what was going on, Gu Qingqing happily told them.
“There are yurts ahead. Let’s go over and ask if we can stay here tonight, and while we’re at it, see if we can trade some cattle or sheep for them.”
Chen Zhe's eyes lit up when he heard Gu Qingqing say that.
"Great! If we could get cattle and sheep in return, we'd be in for a treat and could make lots of delicious food."
Zhang Haiyi looked at the yurt not far away, frowned, and said.
"We've been in the plains for two days and only now have we seen any yurts. It's clear that this area is completely uninhabited. We'd better be careful when we get there."
Fu Heng agreed with Zhang Haiyi's statement.
"Yes, Haiyi is right. We should be careful. Let's go ask them."
The group left the car aside and walked towards the yurt.
They came to the outside of the fence but didn't see anyone. Fu Heng tried calling out a few times.
"Is anyone here? Is anyone here? We came from elsewhere."
After waiting for about two minutes, several people carrying weapons came out of the yurt.
Several burly men walked to the fence, and one of them asked in an unfriendly manner.
"Who are you? Where do you come from? Why are you here?"
Ye Yunxi and the others frowned slightly upon hearing the burly man's tone, but then Fu Heng smiled amicably and said...
"Hello, we came from the First Base in Hangzhou. We're looking for someone, and we just happened to pass by here. We saw some yurts and would like to ask to stay the night. We would appreciate it if you gentlemen could do us a favor."
When the burly men learned that they had come from the base to look for someone and were just passing through, their tone softened.
"You can stay here, but do you have any food? Or salt would also be fine. If you do, you can stay. If not, please leave here immediately, it's not safe around here."
Ye Yunxi and Fu Heng exchanged a glance. Seeing Ye Yunxi nod, Fu Heng continued.
"We have salt and grain. How much would you like to let us stay, sir?"
"As for grain, each person receives five jin (2.5 kg) and salt, each person receives five packets."
"Okay, please wait a moment while we go back to the car to get the supplies."
The big man nodded and looked at the two RVs not far away.
Ye Yunxi and the others walked towards the RV, got in, and asked Xuan Yu to take out several bags of rice and several bags of salt. They then walked back to the fence and spoke to the big man.
“We have three bags of rice here, each weighing ten jin, and ten packets of salt.”
The big man was surprised by how readily these people agreed, and gestured for the people next to him to bring in the supplies.
The big man smiled and said to Ye Yunxi and the others.
“You should drive your car in. It’s not safe to leave it outside; there are some dangers nearby. Once the car is in, I’ll take you to a place to rest.”
Xuan Yu and Lu Hengyi said they would go get the car, and Fu Heng handed the car keys to Xuan Yu.
The two quickly drove their RV over. The fence was already open, so they drove the RV in, parked it, got out, and locked the door.
As Ye Yunxi and her group walked in, they saw that there were many yurts, mostly standing close together, forming what looked like a village.
The group followed the burly man to a yurt, opened the curtain, and invited them inside.
"Distinguished guests, this is my home. Please rest here tonight. We will bring you some water and bedding later."
Fu Heng politely thanked him, and the big man walked towards another yurt.
Ye Yunxi and the others walked in and observed the yurt. It was quite spacious, with two large kang beds, a fire pit in the middle, a kettle, and some wood in the fire pit.
There are two cabinets around the yurt, presumably for storing things. There is also a shelf with an iron basin on it.
A few minutes later, the big man called a few people to help him carry the bedding in and said to them.
"Distinguished guests, we have brought your bedding. We will bring you hot water shortly. Please do not find our place too small."
The burly man smiled and continued, “My name is Aliman, and I am the chieftain here. If you need anything, just come to me. I live in the yurt across the street.”
Ye Yunxi said politely, "Uncle Aliman, thank you. This place is very nice. We just need a place to sleep."
