Seeing that the mermaid didn't attack them, Li Yan and the base leader stopped too.
Then, the mermaids began to retreat.
This series of actions left everyone present completely bewildered.
The mermaid leader said to Fu Heng, "Now you can release me, right? My people have already retreated."
Fu Heng neither spoke nor let go until the entire group of mermaids had left, at which point he slowly released his grip.
The mermaid leader slowly stood up and stared at Fu Heng as she spoke.
