Chapter 56 Anyone who wants to die, come on over!

The animals in the yard were startled by the gunshot and scattered in all directions, but they did not flee the vicinity of the lobby.

Screams and cries erupted from the lobby.

Even though Ye Yunxi and Fu Heng were not far from the main hall, they could hear the sound clearly.

Upon hearing this voice, Fu Heng's expression darkened.

Making such a sound at this time would undoubtedly irritate the animals in the yard.

As these animals scurried around, they made sure to approach the main hall.

They were moving faster than before; some crashed directly into the doorway, while others went in through the window.

The number of animals in the yard was beyond imagination, and animals kept coming in from outside the gate.

The animals in front seemed utterly fearless, using their bodies to shield themselves from gunfire, while the animals behind followed, charging towards the main hall one after another.

Ye Yunxi and Fu Heng did not hesitate.

Fu Heng opened the window, picked up a long gun, and began firing in a barrage.

Ye Yunxi stood next to Fu Heng, and although she didn't fire very fast, every shot hit the animals in the lobby.

Yunzi stood guard beside them to prevent any sudden attacks from animals.

With Ye Yunxi and Fu Heng joining them, the pressure in the lobby was somewhat relieved.

However, some wild animals still managed to enter the lobby.

Ye Yunxi and Fu Heng heard it clearly; the screams and cries from the other side of the hall grew louder and louder.

Some people even tried to rush outside, but that would undoubtedly be suicide.

Wild animals outside the lobby, upon seeing people, charged directly at them.

Seeing this, Ye Yunxi and Fu Heng did not panic. They picked up their guns and fired at the wild animals.

More and more people rushed out, and Ye Yunxi and Fu Heng were unable to save them all.

These people fled in panic, unable to assess the situation, which ultimately led to some of them being killed by wild animals.

The battle lasted for thirty or forty minutes.

In the end, only a dozen or so wild animals fled in panic.

The courtyard was filled with the bodies of survivors and wild animals; countless people had died or been injured.

Ye Yunxi and Fu Heng did not go out immediately. They only came out after seeing Li Yan and the others walk out of the hall.

The courtyard was a mess; the once white snow was now stained red with blood, making it particularly glaring.

Li Yan ordered his men to dispose of the bodies. He then walked over to Fu Heng and Ye Yunxi, saying, "Little Fu, thank you for what happened earlier. Otherwise, even more people would have died or been injured."

"Captain Li, you're too kind. It's all for everyone's benefit," Fu Heng said politely.

Just then, a woman's voice rang out.

"Captain Li, how come they have guns? Did you give them to them?"

“I didn’t give them the guns.” Li Yan stared at the newcomer.

"Where did they get their guns?" the woman demanded loudly.

"Are you questioning what I'm saying?" Li Yan retorted angrily.

"No, it's just that I feel that if we had guns, so many people wouldn't have died."

After the woman finished speaking, several people echoed her words.

"Yeah, if we had guns, so many people wouldn't have died, and we wouldn't have gotten hurt ourselves."

"Yes, Captain Li gave us the gun. Otherwise, where would we get it?"

As the others echoed his sentiments, Li Yan's face instantly darkened. Before he could even speak, he heard Ye Yunxi's words.

Ye Yunxi gave the woman who had just spoken a cold look. "Are you deaf? Didn't you hear what Captain Li said? He didn't give us the guns."

The woman retorted, "If it wasn't given by Captain Li, then where did you get it from?"

"Where did we get the guns? What's it to you?" Ye Yunxi sneered.

"How can it be alright? If we had guns too, we wouldn't have gotten hurt, right?"

The woman spoke to Ye Yunxi, but didn't forget to turn around and ask the person next to her.

"Yes, we're all injured. If only we had guns."

"Exactly, if you have a gun, you won't get hurt."

"It's all your fault. You didn't give us guns, which led to our deaths and injuries."

As others chimed in, one of the men said something that blamed them.

Ye Yunxi glanced over, and the man immediately shrank back, stopped talking, and tried to run away.

But Ye Yunxi wasn't about to let him get away with it. She fired a shot, hitting the man in the leg.

The man collapsed to the ground instantly, howling in pain.

Li Yan ignored the man, staring at him coldly. He was the one stirring up trouble, and even if Ye Yunxi and the others intervened, he wouldn't care.

Ye Yunxi looked coldly at the people who were egging her on, including the woman who had spoken at the beginning.

He said coldly, "I'll say it one last time: the guns are our own, not given to us by Captain Li. As for where they came from, that's none of your business."

If it weren't for us and Captain Li rescuing you, you would probably be on the ground by now.

If anyone continues to cause trouble, those who aren't afraid of death, come at me! I'll send them on their way.

Once the words were spoken, everyone fell silent.

After Ye Yunxi finished speaking, she turned around and looked at Fu Heng and Li Yan: "If there's nothing else for me, I'll head back now."

Fu Heng nodded. "You go back and warm yourself by the fire first. I'll check with Captain Li to see what we hunted. We'll exchange it for contribution points, and then I'll come back to find you."

Li Yan, who was standing to the side, didn't know whether to laugh or cry when he heard what Fu Heng said.

Even at this point, Fu Heng was still thinking about making contributions.

That makes sense, after all, Fu Heng and Ye Yunxi did put in some effort.
