Their convoy traveled smoothly along the way, at a moderate speed.
Ye Yunxi looked out the window at the scenery. The view of Hangzhou was gloomy and colorless. Most of the trees were tree stumps; the trees had been cut down for firewood during the extreme cold period.
The streets were messy, with litter, leaves, stones, and other debris scattered everywhere.
There wasn't much to see along the way, so Ye Yunxi took out her tablet to watch TV to pass the time.
Yunzi kept looking outside, and when she got tired, she lay down and fell asleep.
They arrived at a pre-apocalyptic service area; it was already around 2 PM.

This time, Ye Yunxi drove, and Fu Heng sat in the passenger seat.

After driving for another ten minutes or so, they finally arrived at the base gate. There were already people waiting there.
They parked the car and saw Li Yan come out and talk to the people at the base.
Then Li Yan's voice came through the walkie-talkie.
"Everyone, let's drive the car to the outside area and park it. Then, everyone pack up your equipment, get out of the car, and go into the base."
Ye Yunxi and the others had no choice but to do as they were told. After parking the car outside, they picked up their backpacks, got out of the car with Yunzi, and followed Li Yan slowly into the base.
