The Beijing Museum of Natural History is located in Dongcheng District, Beijing, covering an area of more than 15,000 square meters. It is China's only national-level comprehensive natural history museum.
It officially opened in January 1959 and was the first large-scale natural history museum built by the new China using its own resources.
In January 1962, it was named the Beijing Museum of Natural History.
The museum has four floors and thirteen exhibition halls.
Of these thirteen exhibition halls, two are temporary exhibition halls that can be flexibly adjusted, and there are eleven permanent exhibition halls.
Level B1 is a dinosaur park, which recreates all the scenes of dinosaur life, with all kinds of dinosaurs looking lifelike.
The first floor is an ancient reptile exhibition hall, which is divided into two duplex floors, displaying various large and small ancient animal fossils and skeletons.
They also took many photos of the long scroll depicting the natural landscape of the dinosaur era.
We also visited the ancient mammal exhibition hall, which featured ancient rhinoceros fossils, mammoth fossils, and three-toed horse fossils.
Chen Hong was particularly interested in the invertebrate exhibit.
The exhibits here are mostly shellfish, which have many similarities to the marine animals that Chen Hong discovered in the ocean.
There were also many extinct marine creatures that she had never even heard of.
There are many marine creatures here, including various rare shellfish.
Protecting Earth's biodiversity is also about protecting our own living environment. This further strengthened Chen Hong's resolve to protect marine life!
The second floor is a plant exhibition hall, displaying many plant specimens and fossils of gymnosperms and angiosperms, a true world of plants.
Finally, he bought over a thousand yuan worth of various animal models, big and small, all of which Yu Yang wanted to take back as gifts for his friends.
On the second floor, I saw a document on the origin of humankind, detailing the entire process of evolution from apes to humans.
Explore nature and learn about the origins of species.
In the morning, Yu Yang had a lot of fun. He not only learned about many ancient plants and animals, but also took many photos and finally collected all nine stamps.
This was a wonderful tourist attraction that he found very engaging.
At noon, led by Yang Wenwen, they went to a well-established Beijing restaurant not far away for lunch.
I ordered a stir-fried chicken with soy sauce, a small crispy pork, and a mustard green.
Six meat pies with door nails, three ounces of fried dough sticks, plus a bowl of dumpling soup for each person.
It's a typical Beijing-style restaurant, and half of its customers are local residents.
The door nail meat pie is filled with beef and scallions, with a thin crust, a generous filling, and lots of oil.
You have to be very careful when eating it, as it's easy to burn your mouth if you're not careful. You have to eat it like you would a soup dumpling.
The ground beef is very firm, and each meatball is a bite-sized treat. It's crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, and tastes great.
Yang Wenwen said it wasn't as good as the food at Xiangyunxuan in Niujie.
Chen Hong secretly noted down the shop's name, preparing to visit and sample the food when she had the chance.
They ordered three kinds of fillings for the fried dough sticks: chives, pork and fennel, and egg and fennel.
The filling inside is quite generous, the outer crust is crispy, and the taste is good.
The stir-fried chicken with soy sauce surprised them; it was reddish-brown and had a savory-sweet flavor.
The chicken is tender and juicy with a rich sauce flavor, and the cucumber pieces are crisp. Most importantly, there are many more chicken pieces than cucumber pieces.
This isn't stir-fried cucumber cubes with soy sauce, it's proper stir-fried chicken cubes with soy sauce!!
The mustard greens, crispy pork, and dumpling soup were just so-so. To put it bluntly, even his mother could make them better with her eyes closed!
Chen Hong: "Why are you speaking such blunt truths! When you're traveling, it's already pretty good if half of the food is to your liking. Don't you see that the locals also love to eat here?"
Yang Wenwen: "Sister Chen Hong, does your family also own a restaurant?"
Chen Hong nodded: "Yes, but there aren't many people eating here!"
Yang Wenwen took a big gulp of the dumpling soup: "How much is 'few'? I don't believe it. Your cooking is so delicious, how could there be few people eating here?"
Yu Yang smiled and nodded as she watched her mother tease Yang Wenwen.
Yang Wenwen asked Yu Yang, "Does Yu Yang know how many people there are?"
Yu Yang nodded and held up one finger.
"More than a hundred people, that's quite a lot. Maybe it's because Shandong is a bit remote. If you opened a shop in Beijing, you'd definitely have a huge customer base!"
Chen Hong: This young lady is quite good at comforting people!
Yu Yang didn't say anything, but just covered his mouth and laughed like a little mouse stealing oil.
After a pleasant and satisfying lunch, the three of them strolled around, hailed a taxi, and began their afternoon's itinerary.
Chen Hong, an unconventional reserve military dependent, and Yu Yang, a regular reserve soldier, discussed and finalized their itinerary for the next few days.
Given Yu Yang's dream of becoming a soldier, the mother and daughter, taking advantage of Yang Wenwen's expertise, planned to visit several museums related to military and warfare.
The Military Museum of the Chinese People's Revolution, located at No. 9 Fuxing Road, Haidian District, Beijing, is a place to learn about weaponry. It features many heavy weapons on display.
The Military Museum was built in 1959 and is one of the ten buildings presented as gifts for the National Day celebrations.
The Military Museum of the Chinese People's Revolution is China's only large-scale comprehensive military history museum.
It covers an area of over 80,000 square meters and has a building area of over 60,000 square meters.
The building has seven floors in the center and four floors on each side. The "August 1st" military emblem at the top is made of 520 gold using a gilding process.
It soars high into the sky, gleaming with golden light!
Above the main entrance hangs a huge plaque with the ten large characters "Chinese People's Revolutionary Military Museum" inscribed by Chairman Mao himself.
Here you can see Genghis Khan and his Mongol cavalry, as well as the extraordinary demeanor of Emperor Kangxi and the national pride of Zheng Chenggong.
From the aggression of foreign powers to the Opium War, from Dr. Sun Yat-sen to the Nanchang Uprising, these events have etched their mark on modern military history.
