Chapter 71 My name is Zhou Yi

"I'm at the door, listening for footsteps."

"Hey, you're quite the soldier, using all your skills to follow my lead. Do you know I'm a divorced woman? You barging in like this in the middle of the night, aren't you afraid of seeing something you shouldn't be seeing and getting a sty?"

"I couldn't care less about that, could I? I didn't think that much about it."

Chen Hong immediately became so angry that her chest heaved and her cheeks puffed out. This person really didn't know how to talk. "Alright, it's fine now. I can't hear any more noise outside. You can go now." The young man's eyes didn't know where to look.

But what he said was resolute: "No, I have to hide here for a while longer. They must have ambushed people at all the nearby exits. I can only wait until dawn, when all the guests have left, and then sneak out in the chaos."

Chen Hong paused, wondering what this young man was up to, wanting to stay the night. After a moment's thought, she said, "Then go sleep on the sofa. It's getting late, I need to sleep. I have things to do tomorrow. Young man, close the door behind you when you leave, and behave yourself tonight."

"Don't call me 'young man,' I have a name, call me Zhou Yi."

"Why don't you call it Bagua (Eight Trigrams) instead of Zhouyi (Book of Changes)? Alright, alright, go to sleep." Chen Hong casually tossed him a towel and kicked him out of the room.

After Zhou Yi left, Chen Hong locked the door, went to the bathroom to wash her face, and went to bed. She rolled around in bed several times, touching her slightly flushed face. She didn't know if it was from the fall or from embarrassment; she hoped it was from embarrassment so the flush would go down before she left the house tomorrow.

Chen Hong, carefree as ever, fell asleep quickly. Zhou Yi, on the living room sofa, stared wide-eyed at the ceiling. He kept looking at his palms and rubbing his fingers. Suddenly, a smile appeared on his usually stern face as he muttered, "Young man? What young man? Such a beautiful woman, his eyesight is terrible."

Zhou Yi, a 35-year-old man, stared at the ceiling for half the night, his mind racing and his body burning. "Could I have been drugged?"

I drifted off to sleep just before dawn, and it seemed as if a voluptuous figure kept appearing in my dream. When I woke up, I saw Chen Hong about to leave.

"There's some leftover dinner and fruit on the table. If you're hungry, feel free to eat it. Don't forget to lock the door when you leave. I'm going now, I have things to do today. Goodbye, and best of luck."

Looking at the young man who had just woken up in the morning and was still a little dazed, Chen Hong couldn't help but want to laugh. Zhou Yi looked quite cute when he first woke up in the morning, much like Yu Yang when he got up in the morning. He didn't have his usual cold and composed demeanor at all, and looked like a big kid.

Sigh, being a soldier isn't easy either; they have to take on any kind of mission! Thinking of the soldiers and police officers on missions she watched on TV in her previous life, braving water and fire, dealing with all sorts of criminals, facing danger every day and risking their lives at any moment, Chen Hong felt no anger at all.

When Yang grew up, I absolutely refused to let him join the army or become a policeman! He was always in a position of power and his life was in danger at any time. No mother could bear to let her son do that kind of work.

If it were just being a regular conscript, that would be fine. After two or three years, you could retire and do other jobs, which would be a very good life experience. That would be acceptable.

Seeing that Zhou Yi is already in his thirties and is still going on missions, he must not be an ordinary soldier. I can't control the minds of people like him. All I can do is provide him with breakfast. There's not much else I can do to help.

Zhou Yi watched Chen Hong rush out the door, then nodded and smiled when he saw two large lunchboxes of pan-fried buns and a large plate of various fruits on the table. He realized this woman really loved to eat; he'd noticed that since their last meal together.

Watching her eat more by herself than two people could eat together, he thought to himself, "This woman's appetite is comparable to that of the soldiers in our army!" It tempted him to eat quite a bit too; it was the first time he'd ever eaten so much at a business dinner!

Not to mention that Zhou Yi not only finished the two plates of pan-fried buns she had prepared in the hotel room, but also packed up the leftover fruit and gave it to his comrades who were on the mission with him, without being polite to her at all.

After finishing her work in the morning, Chen Hong discussed the blueprints, negotiated prices, and signed a contract with the decoration company. Once all the formalities were completed, Chen Hong also signed a power of attorney with Wang Chen.

I've entrusted him with the full management of my three properties in Shanghai. From now on, I'll entrust him with everything from property purchase tax and property certificate processing to home renovation and rental.

After signing all the contracts, Chen Hong just waited for the bank loan to come through and made monthly payments. She didn't need to worry about anything else; Wang Chen handled everything. After having lunch with the renovation company staff, Chen Hong bought a ticket to Changzhou in the afternoon, then transferred to another bus back to Rongcheng.

I took the bus at 3 PM and didn't get back to Yujia Village until 8 AM the next morning. The journey involved over ten hours of transfers. Sigh, transportation was still quite inconvenient in the early 2000s; going out was such a hassle.

Back in Yujia Village, apart from the three houses in Shanghai that Chen Hong still needed to worry about, everything else had been completely forgotten by her.

The house is now fully constructed, with PVC doors and windows, and tiled exterior walls. The building features a European-style light luxury design, and from a distance, it looks particularly beautiful and grand.

The interior decoration has been underway for two or three days, but there is dust everywhere. Chen Hong feels that it is even dirtier than when the house was being built.

Since she didn't understand it herself, she didn't want to give unsolicited advice. After spending the day playing with her son at home, Chen Hong went out to sea again the next day. The little fish fry in her space had already grown to the size of a thumb.

Before setting sail, Chen Hong first found a relatively safe coral reef and released all the small fish fry back into the sea. The village chief also mentioned that the fish fry Chen Hong had ordered from the fish breeding company, one million of them, had already been brought in and released into the ocean.
