Chapter 33 An Accidental Encounter with the Big Boss

By the time the next cage was brought in, Chen Hong had finished tying up all the crabs in this cage. She worked continuously for two hours before she finally brought in all six crab cages.

We can't set off the crab traps today. They need to go home, wash and dry them until they're odorless before we can put them back into the sea.

After storing the crabs and lobsters in his spatial storage and tidying up the deck, he set off towards the small reef island, searching for schools of fish along the way.

Halfway there, Chen Hong discovered a small school of fish with more than 100 fish, stopped the boat, cast her line, and caught more than 50 fish.

This school of fish wasn't large, but the fish were valuable, including bass, yellow croaker, yellowfin tuna, black croaker, red croaker, and yellow croaker—several kinds of fish that tasted good and were reasonably priced. If these fish hadn't been so cunning and scattered in a panic, Chen Hong would have bought them all.

It seems the fish have become quite clever these days. They took the delicious bait that Chen Hong prepared with the space water and ran away after eating their fill.

Chen Hong was anxious about the large abalone on Xiaojiao Island. Since she had already been taken advantage of, she had no choice but to let them go. It was already past 4 o'clock when the boat arrived at Xiaojiao Island.

Seeing that no ships were approaching, Chen Hong changed into her diving suit and jumped into the sea. She swam all the way to the bottom, picking up any large lobsters, crabs, coconut shells, and seashells she saw and storing them in her spatial storage.

I swam all the way to the reef I had chosen, and happily took out my tools from my storage space to pry off the big abalone.

There's a technique to prying abalone off a rock. You have to take advantage of its unpreparedness and suddenly throw it off the rock with a rubber mallet. You have to pick it up immediately with your other hand, otherwise it will stick to the rock and be difficult to pry off.

Chen Hong worked quickly and efficiently, hammering away with a rubber mallet in her right hand while catching the loosened abalone with her left and storing it in her spatial storage with a thought. Some abalone hid in the crevices of the rocks, but that didn't pose a problem for Chen Hong.

In order to catch these abalone, Chen Hong made a lot of ingenious little tools over the past three days. This tool for catching abalone was made by Chen Hong using a 20# rebar, one meter long.

It is hammered flat at both ends, with one end flat and the other end flat with a hook, and tape is wrapped around the middle to prevent slipping. It is specially designed to deal with shellfish and seafood in the crevices of reefs.

Chen Hong, who was picking the big ones, caught more than 40 abalone, dug up more than 10 large geoduck clams, and also collected a large basket of sea urchins.

There are so many wonderful things in the sea! Diving and collecting seafood is such a blissful experience, it's hard to leave!

Sensing the change in light on the seabed, Chen Hong reluctantly surfaced.

I checked my phone and it was already 6:30. Time to go home. Sigh, the best fishing times are in the morning and evening. It's tough being a woman with kids. You have to plan your time so carefully. Now I have to go home.

As they sped across the sea, Chen Hong's heart had already flown from the abundant seafood at the bottom of the ocean back to her son.

Back at the dock, I sold the ordinary catch to Liu Laohu and his son. Today, I settled the bill with Liu Laohu for a total of [amount missing].

Although the number is not small, the boats that went out to sea today all had a good catch, ranging from more than 10,000 to 20,000 or 30,000.

Many fishing boats haven't returned yet, and those people will only reap even greater rewards. Someone like Chen Hong, who only sold a little over ten thousand today, is hardly remarkable.

Liu Laohu and his son still had to go to someone else's boat to collect fish. After settling the bill with Chen Hong, the two of them hurriedly disembarked and left, carrying the fish and scales.

Chen Hong loaded everything onto the tricycle, rinsed the boat with seawater, took the trash off the boat and threw it into the trash can, and then drove the tricycle home.

When I got home, I went to the bathroom first, and then I called Zhang Baiqiang to arrange for him to deliver the fish.

He quickly packed the items from the tricycle into the storage room, locked the door, and sorted out the fish, lobsters, and crabs he planned to sell that day. He stored them in his spatial storage and would release them when they were almost in the city.

He then took 10 large abalone, 6 geoduck clams, and 20 large black sea urchins and put them in a separate bucket to inquire about their prices.

I caught too many good items today, I can't sell them all, otherwise it would be too conspicuous and I'd be easily pressured to lower the price. I'll keep them in my space and sell them gradually, which is safer and I can get a higher price.

With her own plans in mind, Chen Hong drove her tricycle straight to the Dragon Palace Hotel. Halfway there, seeing that no one was around, she reached into the back of the vehicle and, under the cover of the canopy, released four large water tanks and one bucket.

Chen Hong is now extremely adept at using the space; she can practically do whatever she wants with it.

When they arrived at the hotel entrance, Master Fan was also waiting with Zhang Baiqiang. Seeing Chen Hong's car arrive, he immediately went to the front, opened the hood, and carried out the bucket containing the abalone and geoduck.

Seeing Chen Hong's surprised expression, Zhang Baiqiang smiled and explained, "You just called to say that you caught wild abalone and geoduck. Today, we have some distinguished guests from Beijing at our hotel, and our big boss also came from Jinan. He even asked the hotel to use the best ingredients to entertain the guests while he was still on the highway."

Our head chef was frantic! You're a lifesaver! We got a lot of seafood today, but none of it was top-quality. Everyone was trying to find out through various channels when we received your call. Come on, let's take a look at the goods together and see what surprises await us.

Chef Fan, holding an abalone bigger than his palm in his left hand and a geoduck weighing five or six pounds in his right, laughed and said, "With these two, the banquet tonight will be absolutely top-notch."

Zhang Baiqiang went up into the back of the truck and looked at each of the large water tanks. He saw the beautiful long-tailed sea eagle, the big-eyed eagle, and the rat-spotted eagle.

Overjoyed, "Master Fan, look at the spotted eagle, the long-tailed eagle, and the big-eyed eagle. They're all top-quality! This is wonderful! Chen Hong, you're truly our lucky star. Now we can definitely report back to the big boss."

Three people were looking at the fish when two gleaming black Mercedes-Benz cars pulled up in front of the hotel. The hotel manager, lobby manager, and several other managers came out to greet them, and five people got out of the cars one after another.
