Chen Hong took a shower and did yoga. When all else failed, she put on some soft music and headphones to lull herself to sleep. She doesn't know how long she tossed and turned, but she finally fell asleep.
Chen Hong woke up as soon as it was light. The soft music in her headphones had long since stopped. She plugged her phone in to charge and saw that it was only 5:30 a.m. She had only slept for two and a half hours.
I feel great and full of energy. I saw that it was already bright outside the window. I got up and sealed the dried tea leaves in bags, labeled them, and weighed them. There were only 4.2 jin of tea leaves in total. I'll keep these tea leaves for myself to drink slowly.
I cooked, did housework, fed the chickens and ducks, and finished everything by 6:30. I woke my son up and ate breakfast. I fed the puppies and took them to the backyard to clean up.
She packed everything she needed for the trip into the tricycle, moved the puppy and its bamboo basket into the back of the vehicle, packed snacks, milk, and sausages for her son, and sent her son and the puppy to the old house. Chen Hong then went directly to the dock to set sail and earn money.
Chen Hong felt that her eyesight, sense of smell, and hearing had improved. She could see more than 100 meters underwater, and there were very few places on the seabed that she couldn't see when the small boat passed by.
Unless the seawater is murky and visibility is low, Chen Hong can see more than 30 meters underwater. This is simply incredible, amazing. Even in the next ten years or so, I haven't heard of any fish finders in the world that can achieve this level of capability.
This ability must not be known to anyone, otherwise, what might happen is beyond the control of an ordinary fisherman like myself. This secret must be kept; I must go out to sea alone in secret, without making a fuss.
In the future, the catch should be sold in small quantities at several different locations. Be very careful not to attract the attention of anyone with ulterior motives. Make money quietly, and keep a low profile in terms of food, clothing, and lifestyle.
It seems we need to develop a few more fish-selling channels and be more careful in order to survive in the long run.
Lost in thought, I steered the boat southwest. I stopped and started along the way, without a fixed location. Whenever I saw a large school of fish and there were few other boats nearby, I would anchor, bait the boat, and fish for a while.
In this aimless way, I found three schools of fish and caught more than 200 fish. I released the ones weighing less than half a pound, and threw the cheap trevally and mackerel into the large tank to keep as bait.
By noon, the fish had stopped biting. Chen Hong found a rocky island, slowly moored the boat beside the rocks, and first ate two steamed buns and an egg, and drank some water.
They could vaguely see some shells and oysters on the reef. Chen Hong got off the boat and tied the rope to the solid reef.
After climbing onto the rocky island and looking around, I couldn't see a single ship on the sea. This rocky island was more than ten nautical miles off the course, with a water depth of more than twenty meters. The underwater reefs were numerous and the terrain was complex. Ordinary fishing boats would not come here to operate.
The rocky island beneath Chen Hong's feet is 5 meters above the sea. It is currently low tide, which means that at high tide, this small island of about 500 square meters will be submerged by seawater and reduced to a small stone platform that can only support a dozen or so people. It will be impossible to spot the island from a distance.
Chen Hong put on a life jacket, took out a plastic bucket, a small shovel, and a pointed hammer from her spatial storage, and searched among the rocks. No one had been here for a long time, and she could see large crabs and lobsters among the seaweed and rocks just by bending down.
With wide eyes, Chen Hong quickly picked up more than twenty lobsters weighing over one and a half pounds each and more than thirty crabs weighing over one pound each, while the sea level had already risen by one meter.
Chen Hong quickly scooped up more than 100 kilograms of plump oysters with a small shovel, stored the harvest and tools in her spatial storage, swam to the reef, untied the rope, and climbed onto the boat.
Back in her cabin, she retrieved a bucket of water, washed herself, and changed her clothes. She then took out her phone and noted the location. Looking at the vast expanse of mussels and oysters on the reef, now submerged by the sea, Chen Hong felt a deep sense of loss.
Undeterred, we circled the area and discovered it was incredibly rich in marine life. At depths of several meters, we found lobsters, crabs, geoduck clams, coconut snails, and abalone clinging to the rocks. Unfortunately, the boat didn't have any diving equipment.
What a pity! What can we do? We can only catch more fish to vent our anger. Chen Hong used the water in his space to mix a large bucket of bait, anchored the boat, and set up three fishing rods.
The live bait on the hook consisted of sea silkworms and small squid that had been kept in the space water for several days. After scattering several large spoonfuls of bait to create a feeding area, fish in the vicinity swam towards the fishing boat.
The sea silkworms and squid became incredibly energetic, wriggling and twisting on the hooks, attracting large fish to eagerly devour them. Within minutes, all three fishing rods had caught fish.
Chen Hong is now selecting which rod catches the most valuable fish first, and using the electric reel to slowly reel in the less valuable ones. If a fish gets away, Chen Hong isn't too upset.
They kept catching fish like this until 5 p.m., when Chen Hong had poured cold water on the electric reel several times to cool it down before finally packing up and heading back home.
On her way back, she released the oysters, kept only half of the fish, and stored the rest in her spatial storage, intending to sell them separately.
When they arrived at the dock, Liu Laohu and his son were already waiting. After another flurry of activity, weighing and recording, Chen Hong sold a total of 132 jin of various kinds of seafood for 1320 yuan, and oysters for 10 yuan per jin, for a total of 1320 yuan.
