Chapter 215 The Senior Brothers Display Their Divine Power
Jiang Ruzhen sat in the helicopter, her mind completely blank.
She hadn't expected her two colleagues from the Ninth Special Operations Bureau to be so efficient.
She had just hung up the phone when a private car pulled up beside her and sped her to the airport.
Then she saw two senior brothers dressed neatly, waiting for her in a helicopter that had started up.
"Senior brothers, do I really need to trouble you both to come at the same time for this little matter?"
Jin Sheng leaned back in his chair, closed his eyes to rest, and Xiao He casually waved his hand.
"Don't mention it, junior sister. We're just killing time anyway."
"Uh...aren't you supposed to be fighting every day, eliminating evil spirits, and protecting our country?" Jiang Ruzhen asked cautiously.
Xiao He gave her a strange look. "Junior Sister, do you have some misunderstanding about our department?"
"How so?"
"We will only take action when the country is in the most danger. In recent years, the neighboring countries have been scared by our senior brothers and they should not want to come and die."
My fourth senior brother and I haven't encountered anything major during our two years of duty; we're so bored we're practically growing mold.
Huh? No way?
According to Jiang Ruzhen, there have been many natural disasters across the country in the past two years. Don't the people of the Ninth Special Operations Bureau care?
Xiao He glanced at Jiang Ruzhen, as if he could see right through her thoughts.
"Junior Sister, our bureau does not intervene in natural disasters. The cycle of heaven has its causes and effects, and we will not forcibly intervene in the fate of mortals."
Jiang Ruzhen: "..." So profound, I don't understand...
Could it be that the place she's going to wasn't formed by a natural disaster?
Xiao He seemed to see right through Jiang Ruzhen's thoughts again. "Junior Sister, we are now intervening in your destiny analysis, which does not count as breaking the rules."
Jiang Ruzhen covered her head in fear. "Eighth Senior Brother, can you please stop reading my thoughts? I feel like I have no privacy at all in front of you."
Xiao He was amused by Jiang Ruzhen's actions. "Your thoughts are written all over your face. Do I need to waste my energy reading them?"
Jiang Ruzhen used to think she was quite smart, and she was once proud and pleased with herself for being reborn and having access to the Spirit Spring Space.
She even occasionally felt a sense of superiority over ordinary people.
But today, in front of her two senior brothers, she felt like a fool.
As the helicopter landed near the disaster area, Jiang Ruzhen saw from above that half of the village below was buried by mudslides, while the other half was still relatively intact.
Many villagers who had escaped were gathered at the intersection, waiting for rescue.
Soldiers from the military were participating in the rescue operation. Jiang Ruzhen ran over to inquire whether the villagers had seen any teachers or students from Beijing.
The village chief rushed over and told her that the people from the big city had gone up the mountain early in the morning, and they were probably the first to come into contact with the mudslide.
They don't know where they've been swept away to, and they don't know where they are.
Jiang Ruzhen was extremely anxious and wanted to go up the mountain to find the person herself, but military dispatchers came and stopped them from going up the mountain.
After all, who knows what the situation is like on the mountain after the heavy rain? What if there is another mudslide later?
Xiao He and Jin Sheng stood in front of Jiang Ruzhen like two stone sculptures. Xiao He took out his ID and flashed it in front of the newcomer.
The other party immediately bowed respectfully to him, "I'm sorry, I didn't know it was a colleague from the Ninth Bureau on official business. I apologize for disturbing you."
Xiao He simply nodded slightly to him, then led Jiang Ruzhen around them and up the mountain.
Meanwhile, many soldiers and civilians in the distance looked on with curiosity.
I wonder what their background is, and why the military treats them with such respect.
Some people even secretly inquired with the dispatch leader from earlier, who, while looking excited, reprimanded them sternly.
"Don't pry into the people and things above you. Just do what you're supposed to do."
The superiors' reticence has aroused more curiosity and attention, but with the leaders watching from the sidelines, none of them can go up the mountain.
Jiang Ruzhen was unaware of these subtle actions; she was solely focused on saving her daughter.
They had no idea that they had become part of a mysterious organization in the eyes of those people.
Jin Sheng and Xiao He accompanied her into the mountains. Just as Jiang Ruzhen stood still, Jin Sheng suddenly asked.
"Do you have any of your daughter's things on you? I can borrow them."
Jiang Ruzhen rummaged through her bag and only found a hair tie that her daughter had given her before the Lunar New Year. "Will this be okay?"
Jin Sheng took it, closed his eyes and muttered incantations. Just as Jiang Ruzhen was in a daze, she heard wolves howling all around her.
A pack of wolves came galloping towards them. Jiang Ruzhen turned to run away, but Xiao He quickly grabbed her wrist.
"Why are you running? Fourth Senior Brother recruited these people to help you find them."
"Huh? A pack of wolves?" Jiang Ruzhen stammered in fright.
“Yes, these wild beasts are all adorable in Fourth Senior Brother’s eyes,” Xiao He replied.
Little...cute?
Looking at the ever-growing pack of wolves before him, each one was plump and strong, with glossy fur, gaping maws, and sinister green eyes.
Jiang Ruzhen obediently shut her mouth and quietly hid behind Xiao He.
Xiao He was quite pleased with Jiang Ruzhen's dependence on him, after all, he used to be the youngest in the bureau, and everyone doted on him like a child.
Now a beautiful junior sister has arrived. She's well-behaved, very pretty and cute.
His desire to be an older brother was greatly fulfilled.
He shielded the person behind him and followed Jin Sheng forward.
After smelling the hair tie in Jin Sheng's hand, the wolf pack, at his command, spread out a huge wolf net and searched the entire mountainside for the person.
After the three men crossed the mountain, the wolf pack finally stirred and rushed toward a hillside.
Jin Sheng led the way, his strong body charging and crashing through everything in his path. Even huge trees that blocked his way were knocked down with a single punch.
The three quickly arrived at the hillside, only to find that it had been buried by a mudslide and no trace could be found.
Xiao He then stepped forward, sat cross-legged on the ground, closed his eyes, and made a hand seal.
Jiang Ruzhen suddenly felt as if she could feel ethereal power surging out from Xiao He's body, and this power swept over the rocks in front of her.
Just five seconds later, Xiao He opened his eyes, got up, and drew a circle on the wall with a stick.
"Fourth senior brother, there is a cave in here."
As soon as he finished speaking, Jin Sheng threw a punch at the rocks in front of him.
With a loud clang.
The boulder in front of them turned into dust in an instant, scattering and flying in all directions.
Jiang Ruzhen covered her mouth in disbelief. Was this the terrifying power of the senior members of the Ninth Special Operations Bureau?
That's terrifying!
Sure enough, her joining the Ninth Inning was all luck.
Her senior brothers were all gods; she was just a mortal.
Just as she was in shock, a shout suddenly came from inside the cave.
"who?"
