Chapter 202 Return Gift

"How did you discover the landmine?" Mu Huaixi asked him curiously, standing in front of a charred grass hut covered with fallen rocks.

Her five senses were sharp enough, but they were completely ineffective against inanimate objects like landmines. If the young man had not been alert, the two of them would have suffered a great loss.

"Landmine." The boy caught her calling the thing in the grass pit and repeated it twice.

Mu Huaixi smiled and stopped asking questions, instead following the boy forward. The flag of the medical clinic looked close, but they didn't get close until the sun was at its zenith.

Mu Huaixi could hear a familiar voice from afar, and he quickened his pace unconsciously, but the young man stopped, his eyes full of vigilance.

"Thank you, thank you." He turned to thank Mu Huaixi and seemed to be about to leave, but Mu Huaixi took the initiative to grab his arm. The boy was surprised, but did not dodge or struggle.

It seems that Mu Huaixi's hard work these past two days was not in vain. She pointed to the medical clinic not far away and said, "Let's go. I'll bring you some things."

When Mu Huaixi came back, the first person she discovered was Ai Taoyu. She rushed over screaming, hugged her in her arms and kept shouting that she was worried to death. Then Li Ying and others came over and surrounded her with red eyes.

Regardless of whether there were any awkwardnesses before, everyone worked together and established comradeship. The market team was attacked on the way back and Mu Huaixi disappeared. How could they not be worried?

Mu Huaixi patted Ai Taoyu comfortingly, and was very touched. From the chatter of the people around her, she knew that after she disappeared the day before yesterday, Dr. Luo and Xiao Wu both blamed themselves very much. After packing up the mule cart and the food they had exchanged for, they took people to look for her.

"I didn't expect you to come back by yourself!" Ai Taoyu was thankful. It took her a long time to notice the awkward young man behind her. "Who is this?"

"He's the culprit who caused me to disappear." Mu Huaixi's words were very serious, but he said them with a smile, so everyone thought he was joking. "Someone in his family was sick, so he asked me to help with the medical treatment."

Ai Taoyu relaxed suddenly, but still had some complaints, "Why not just come to the clinic directly? It's too scary to intercept people on the way."

"He doesn't talk much and lives in the mountains," Mu Huaixi explained to the boy, then grabbed his arm and led him to the medical center. "Someone at home is also seriously ill, and he lost his composure for a while."

She didn't mention that her family member was a huge white tiger, for fear of scaring her companions. She just said that she had treated his family member, and the boy sent her back. She planned to bring some more medicine for the person.

The young man attracted a lot of people's attention along the way, and they followed her nervously, looking like he would climb up the tree and escape in the next second.

Mu Huaixi asked him to wait under the bamboo building while she went to the room to get anthelmintics and pills for headaches and fevers. She thought about it and took out a short-sleeved shirt that she had never worn and planned to give it to the boy.

She was of medium height among women, and the boy was about the same height as her. Although he had muscles, he was very thin, perhaps because he had lived in the mountains for many years, and her clothes hardly fit him.

When Mu Huaixi was going downstairs, she met Lu Yong who had hurried over. He was relieved to see that she was alright. Then he noticed what she had, turned around and glanced at the boy standing under the bamboo building. "Wait for me, I'll get him some clothes too."

Lu Yong took out a pair of shorts, but if the boy put them on, they would probably be just cropped pants.

When Mu Huaixi went down, the boy was amused by Ai Taoyu and was at a loss, but his eyes unconsciously fell on the candy melon in Ai Taoyu's hand.

Who doesn’t like the sweet taste of sugar melon?

Mu Huaixi smiled, thinking that he was indeed still a child, so he walked over and snatched the candy from Ai Taoyu's hand and stuffed it into his hand.

The boy was stunned, then blushed.

"What are you doing? I haven't even asked his name yet," Ai Taoyu was a little dissatisfied, but Mu Huaixi took three or five candies from her pocket and handed them all over.

"Stop bullying me. He can't even speak clearly, how can he know my name?" Mu Huaixi didn't know the other party's name all the way. Could it be that if Baihu called him, she wouldn't understand, right?

Unexpectedly, the boy understood the conversation between the two and answered, "I, I am Ah Bing."

"A Bing? A Bing?" Ai Taoyu repeated it twice in surprise, and suddenly burst into laughter. She didn't explain why she laughed, but she saw the clothes in Mu Huaixi's arms, "Hey, wait a minute, I have a shirt here that hasn't been worn yet, it should be just right for him to wear."

Ai Taoyu came and went in a hurry. After she brought back a tannin-colored shirt, she complained, "I've been busy all this time, and my trouser waist has loosened two fingers. This shirt is already too big, and now it looks like a gown. I'll give it to Ah Bing!"

Ah Bing was holding a pile of medicine and new clothes, and suddenly he didn't know what to do.

Mu Huaixi patted his forearm, "It's okay, didn't you bring us a lot of prey? This is your return gift."

His eyes suddenly became bright. He put his clothes on the branch behind him, then suddenly jumped up the tree and ran away in a few seconds.

"My goodness!" Ai Taoyu's eyes widened. "Is this a human or a monkey?"

Mu Huaixi smiled, thinking that she had never seen how Ah Bing rode the monkey, otherwise she would be even more surprised.

When Ah Bing came back with a lot of fruits and prey, the people who went out to look for her also came back. Xiao Wu and Dr. Luo were half relieved and half confused when they saw her come back.

"According to the time you said, we were on the main road. How come we didn't see you?"

"Abing was afraid that you would be anxious, so he took me through a shortcut," Mu Huaixi said briefly. Seeing Xiao Wu's eyes flicker when he heard about the landmines, he didn't say much.

She wanted to help Ah Bing find a stable job, but she felt that mine clearance was too dangerous. Perhaps it was understandable that he just liked to be free in the mountains and forests with his animal friends.

When A Bing came back with a bunch of things, Ai Taoyu naturally pulled him over and praised him a lot. Dr. Luo and Xiao Wu, who had originally had a grudge against him, also felt that although he had kidnapped Mu Huaixi, he had his reasons, so they found some unused clothes or small items that could be used and gave A Bing as a return gift.

Ah Bing got a lot of things. He had eaten fried dishes for the first time in a long time. He was also persuaded to drink by the hospitable Xiao Ai and Qin Wenlong. He soon fell dizzy and overjoyed beside the campfire. Lu Yong carried him to the first floor of the bamboo house.

Mu Huaixi was also tired after two days. After dinner, he wiped himself and fell asleep.

When she woke up, Abing had already left. She felt a little melancholy. The experiences of the past few days seemed like a dream. She thought about it and did not rush out. Instead, she took out a piece of letter paper and wrote a letter to Ying Mingcheng, telling him in detail about her experiences of the past few days.

The written letters were placed in a wooden box, which already contained more than ten letters, some thin and some thick. They were all written to Ying Mingcheng after she arrived here, but there was no way to send them to him.

Mu Huaixi was very worried about Ying Mingcheng at first, and always wrote in letters asking him to pay attention to this and that, but later it became like a diary, writing everything in it.
