Chapter 13: The Stockpiling Dilemma and the Financial Shackles

Mou Xuan unfolded the densely packed list of supplies. The confidence to survive in the apocalypse depended on this.

But looking at the balance in his bank card, the corners of his mouth couldn't help but twitch - ideals are full, but reality is very skinny!

How can this be called emptying the shopping cart?

It's like emptying the national treasury!

He leaned back heavily in his chair, and the chair squeaked in protest, as if mocking his embarrassment.

Under the light, he stared at the account book, his brows furrowed so tightly that they could kill a mosquito.

This is not just a small fight, but a major plan for survival in the end times!

The room was eerily quiet, with only the rustling sound of him flipping through the account books, like a death warrant.

Every page of numbers was like a sharp knife, stabbing hard into his heart.

"Damn, this money is so wasteful!" He cursed under his breath, and the tip of the pen in his hand drew a deep scratch on the paper.

500 boxes of compressed biscuits?

How much does this cost!

There are also mineral water, medical kits, gasoline...

Thinking of that astronomical amount of expenses, Mou Xuan felt like he was being pressed to the ground.

This is not stockpiling in the apocalypse, this is clearly burning money in the apocalypse!

He kept flipping through the account books, trying to squeeze out some "oil and water" from them.

He carefully examined every expenditure, as if he wanted to squeeze a few drops of blood out of it.

He wanted to spend every penny wisely, ensuring the quality of the supplies while not leaving his wallet empty.

He pursed his lips tightly, and the pen in his hand kept scratching on the account book, as if he was struggling with the numbers.

In his heart, it was as if two villains were fighting, one saying, "Save money! Save money!", and the other saying, "Quality! Quality!"

There was a tension in the air, as if the whole room was waiting for him to make a decision.

This silence made him even more irritated. He felt like he was trapped in a huge maze and couldn't find the exit.

"No, this is not a solution!" He stood up suddenly, grabbed the phone on the table, and quickly searched the address book until a name came into his sight. He took a deep breath and pressed the dial button. The phone rang, once, twice...

"Hello?" A female voice came, with a hint of doubt...

"Finance Qin, come to my office." Mou Xuan's voice was low, but with unquestionable majesty.

A few minutes later, Finance Officer Qin pushed the door open and walked in. He was wearing a meticulous professional suit and had a serious and rigid expression, looking like a walking example of rules.

"Boss Mou, you're looking for me?"

Mou Xuan pointed at the open account book and said straight to the point: "I need a large sum of money, now, immediately!"

Finance Qin adjusted his glasses, and a cold light flashed across the lenses, as if he was examining Mou Xuan's "irrational" behavior.

"Mr. Mou, please forgive me for being blunt, but your current fund mobilization plan is too radical and extremely risky. I have to remind you..."

"Stop!" Mou Xuan interrupted her impatiently, "I know what you are thinking, conservative! Stable! But the situation is special now, I need to make a quick decision!"

Finance Qin remained calm, pushed up his glasses, and said firmly, "Mr. Mou, any investment needs to be cautious. I suggest you..."

"You don't need to judge my decision, just execute it!" Mou Xuan said in a cold and resounding tone.

Looking at the serious expression of Finance Qin, Mou Xuan knew that this approach would not work.

"Okay, I got it." He waved his hand, indicating that Finance Qin could leave.

The office door was closed, and Mou Xuan scratched his hair in annoyance. It felt like he had punched cotton. How frustrating!

"Hmph, maybe things will change. I'll find a way myself!" Mou Xuan picked up his coat and strode out of the office.

"Boss Ma, long time no see. I hope your business is booming!" Mou Xuan walked into the supermarket with a smile on his face, as if he was an old friend reminiscing about the past.

Boss Ma narrowed his eyes and looked at Mou Xuan, his shrewd and calculating nature as a businessman was fully exposed.

"Hey, Mr. Mou, you are welcome. If you need anything, just let me know. I have everything you need."

"Great! I'm here today to purchase a batch of supplies." Mou Xuan handed over the list with a relaxed tone, as if he just came to buy some snacks.

Boss Ma's eyes almost popped out of his head as he looked at the long list.

My goodness, this is going to empty out his entire supermarket!

"Mr. Mou, your order is a bit too large..." Boss Ma rubbed his hands, his eyes flickering, and began to think about how to make a big profit.

"Big quantity means better prices, Boss Ma, don't you agree?" Mou Xuan raised the corners of his mouth slightly, with a meaningful look.

A tug-of-war officially began.

With his accurate grasp of the value of materials in the end times and his eloquent tongue, Mou Xuan successfully made Boss Ma make concessions on some scarce materials.

"Boss Ma, it's a pleasure working with you." Mou Xuan signed the contract with satisfaction, feeling secretly proud in his heart.

Boss Ma looked at Mou Xuan's departing back, the smile on his face instantly disappeared, and a hint of viciousness flashed in his eyes, "Boy, don't be too happy too soon..."

Signing a contract does not mean that everything is fine.

Boss Ma's face, which was smiling like a chrysanthemum, instantly regained the usual shrewdness of a businessman. He rubbed his hands and said, "Boss Mou, it's a pleasure to cooperate with you, but there is a small additional condition..."

Mou Xuan's heart skipped a beat and he knew that this old fox had no good intentions.

Sure enough, Boss Ma's next words almost made him spit out blood: "Look, I have some unsaleable goods. If you can take them away, we can discuss the price..."

Mou Xuan looked at the dusty "antique" that Boss Ma was pointing at, feeling nothing in his heart, and even wanted to laugh.
