Mou Xuan stood by the window, the night wind blowing his hair. The bright lights of the city looked like fog in his eyes, concealing the hidden crisis.
"Is the 'Prophet'... really dead?" This question lingered in his mind, lingering like a curse.
He turned back to the table, where documents and items seized from the mysterious organization's base were placed. They were in disarray, like scattered puzzle pieces, waiting to be pieced back together.
"Analyst Ju, let's go over the information again." Mou Xuan's voice was low and firm, carrying an unquestionable power.
Analyst Ju pushed up his glasses on the bridge of his nose. The lenses reflected the light and he looked particularly serious. "Okay, Boss Mou, let's go through it again and see if we can find more clues."
The two men buried themselves in the documents again, and the time passed by minute by minute.
The air was filled with the smell of paper and ink, mixed with a hint of tension.
Mou Xuan's eyes were as sharp as an eagle. He quickly scanned every line of text and every picture, trying to find clues.
Analyst Ju supplemented and analyzed the situation on the side. He has a rigorous logic, quick thinking, and is able to find problems from subtle details.
"These symbols... look like some kind of map markings." Analyst Ju pointed to several special symbols that appeared repeatedly in the file.
"Map marks? But these symbols don't correspond to any known geographical locations." Mou Xuan frowned, tapping the table lightly with his fingers, and fell into deep thought.
Suddenly, an idea flashed in his mind, and a picture emerged in his mind: similar symbols were also engraved on the wall of the basement of the abandoned factory!
"Could it be..." He stood up suddenly, walked quickly to the wall, and found the location of the abandoned factory on a huge city map.
Then, he marked the map according to the order of the symbols in the file, and eventually, several marks formed an irregular triangular area.
"This area...is mostly wilderness and abandoned mining areas." Analyst Ju looked at the map with a hint of confusion in his tone.
"That's right. It's because of the desolation that it's easier to hide secrets." A gleam of light flashed in Mou Xuan's eyes. "The 'Prophet' must have hidden important supplies in this area!"
"Boss Mou, what you mean is..." Analyst Ju seemed to understand something.
"That's right, let's go there and take a look!" Mou Xuan said firmly, his tone full of confidence.
After selecting the location, Mou Xuan took Investigator Cheng and drove to the target area.
Along the way, the atmosphere was solemn and both of them remained highly vigilant.
The scenery of the wilderness is monotonous and bleak, with withered grass and bare hills. Occasionally, a few crows fly by, making shrill calls, adding a sense of eeriness.
"Boss Mou, I always feel like something is wrong." Investigator Cheng clenched his weapon and glanced around vigilantly.
Mou Xuan nodded, he also noticed something strange.
"Be careful, Investigator Cheng, we may have been targeted."
Just as he finished speaking, there was a sound of breaking through the air, and several crossbow arrows shot out from the bushes on the side of the road, heading straight towards the two of them.
"Get down!" Mou Xuan shouted, quickly opened the car door, and threw Investigator Cheng to the ground.
The crossbow arrows flew past their bodies and hit the car body.
"There is an ambush!" Investigator Cheng roared and wanted to rush out to fight the enemy.

They hid behind the car, listening to the footsteps coming from all around them and determining the enemy's position.
"Boss Mou, what should we do? We are surrounded!" Investigator Cheng's voice trembled slightly.
"Don't panic, I have a way." Mu Xuan observed the surrounding environment and found a pile of rocks and some discarded wooden boards on the side of the road.
"Investigator Cheng, you attract their attention and I will go around behind them." Mou Xuan said in a low voice.
"Okay!" Investigator Cheng nodded, took a deep breath, then stood up suddenly and fired in one direction, attracting the enemy's attention.
Taking advantage of this opportunity, Mou Xuan activated his time ability and his figure instantly disappeared from the spot.
The next second, he appeared behind the enemy, and the dagger in his hand flashed like lightning, and several assassins fell to the ground.
"What?!" The remaining assassins were horrified. Before they could react, Mou Xuan had activated his time ability again and appeared in front of them.
"It's over." Mou Xuan said coldly. The dagger in his hand was like the scythe of death, reaping the lives of the enemies.
The fight was over quickly and cleanly.
Mou Xuan captured the last assassin alive and tied him up.
"Tell me, who are you? Why did you attack us?" Mou Xuan asked sternly.
The assassin lowered his head and said nothing.
Mou Xuan sneered
[Event occurred]
"Special methods? Hehe, do you think you are the descendant of the Ten Cruel Tortures of the Qing Dynasty?" Mou Xuan sneered and took out a...lollipop? !
"Don't get me wrong, I'm not a pervert." Mou Xuan tore open the candy wrapper and stuffed the lollipop into the assassin's mouth. "This is the latest model of 'truth' lollipop, would you like to try it?"
The assassin was confused. What the hell was this?
Is it some new type of poison?
He tried desperately to spit out the lollipop, but it melted in his mouth and he had no time at all!
"Tell me, who are you? Why did you attack us?" Mou Xuan asked again with a hint of teasing in his tone.
"We are... the 'scavengers', ordered... to eliminate all... those who know about it..." The assassin's eyes were dazed and his words were intermittent. It was obvious that the "drug effect" of the lollipop had taken effect.
