The off-road vehicle rolled over the asphalt road covered with black ice crystals, and the ice fragments crushed by the anti-skid chain splashed onto the windshield and vaporized instantly.
Mou Xuan held the steering wheel with one hand. The blood beads seeping out of the cracks in the mechanical arm were flowing upstream along the threads of the joystick and condensed into dodecahedral crystals at the air-conditioning outlet.
"It takes seven minutes to warm up the detector." Chen Yao rested the silver metal box between her knees, her fingertips brushing over the burnt notch of the ice crystal hairpin. "If Fatty Zou dares to jump on the front of the car and try to scam me, I'll freeze him on the bumper as a mascot."
The moment the headlights pierced the snowstorm, Mou Xuan slammed on the brakes.
On a snow hill thirty meters away, old friend Xu was bending over to help assistant Feng who had fallen. The crystal clusters on their protective suits reflected a rainbow halo under the strong light.
When Zou's confidant stumbled forward, the ice chips thrown out by the heels of his military boots were wrapped in half of the centipede-shaped mechanical tentacle.
"The lubricant for prosthetic joints is an antique produced in 2015." Chen Yao sneered at the detector, and the white mist he exhaled drew a function curve on the car window, "But the four-dimensional entropy fluctuation is 0.7 points lower than that of a living zombie - this thing was either just dug out of a coffin, or..."
She suddenly fell silent.

As Xu Jiuyou stammered to explain the confusion in time, the snow under their feet suddenly collapsed - the hidden crystal tentacles were breaking out of the ground, wrapping around the rusty iron pipes from twenty years ago.
"Be careful!" Assistant Feng suddenly pounced on Mou Xuan, but the steel cable shot out from his sleeve accurately hooked away the core component of the detector.
Chen Yao turned over and jumped onto the roof of the car. The fragments of ice blades formed a refractive net in the blizzard, focusing and vaporizing all the mechanical insects that tried to escape.
Mou Xuan twisted off Xu Jiuyou's mechanical index finger with his backhand, and black blood mixed with gear fragments gushed out of the pulled-out nerve conduit.
When he wanted to continue questioning, Zou's confidant suddenly hugged his waist like crazy: "Captain Mou, you can't do this!
Lao Xu once blocked the fangs of the radioactive wolf for you! "
"Thank his fangs for me." Mou Xuan kicked away the crying Zou confidant and held the severed finger in front of the detector camera, "Bionic nerve produced in 2015, but cell activity shows..." He suddenly paused, and blood beads bursting out of the cracks in the mechanical arm gathered on the snow to form an arrow pointing to the base.

In the distance, a strange metallic humming sound came from the direction of the water purification station, as if countless gears were chewing ice crystals.

Mou Xuan suddenly let go of Xu Jiuyou, and deliberately kicked the wreckage of the detector into the snow pile when he turned around, "Since you're back, let the medical team give you a comprehensive check-up." "The results of the blood sample analysis are out." Chen Yao used her fingernails to draw a double helix structure on the frost on the car window. "The severed finger is mixed with..." She suddenly crushed the crystal vines that tried to climb on the bottom of the car with the heel of her boot, "... mixed with the stem cells that were stolen when you were injured last month." Mou Xuan's mechanical knuckles tapped out three long and two short secret codes on the steering wheel, and the hunched back of his old friend Xu was reflected in the rearview mirror.
The man was drawing circles on the snow with the bronze spur of his severed finger. With each circle, tiny mechanical beetles would drill into the ground from the wound.
"The medical team has prepared the sterile cabin." Chen Yao tore open the wrapping paper of the energy bar and deliberately let the debris float onto the wreckage of the detector. "Do you want to add some material to Lao Zou's protective suit? The nest of mechanical insect eggs in his heat dissipation valve is about to hatch."
When the tire rolled over the isolation belt covered with human-shaped ice sculptures, Mou Xuan suddenly turned the steering wheel.
The moment the off-road vehicle hit the outer wall of the water purification station, Chen Yao's ice crystal hairpin accurately froze the airbag trigger.
Through the rising snow mist, the two saw Assistant Feng lying on the top of the watchtower, with the steel cable on his cuffs emitting a faint blue phosphorescent light in the moonlight.
