"Yaoyao!" Mou Xuan's voice echoed in the empty safe house, but received no response.
His heart felt like it was being tightly grasped by an invisible hand, and he could hardly breathe.
Could it be that...
Could it be that the old thief Chen's partner has taken action in advance?
He rushed out of the safe house, started the car, and shot out like an arrow.
Chen Yao's gentle smile and her meticulous look when bandaging his wound kept flashing through his mind.
When Mou Xuan thought that she might fall into Chen's hands and be tortured, she wished she could tear Chen into pieces.
He knew several of Chen's hiding places, and he sped all the way, almost stepping on the accelerator into the fuel tank.
The first one is empty; the second one is still empty!
The veins on Mou Xuan's forehead bulged, and a feeling of despair began to spread.
Is he a step too late?
Just when he was about to lose his mind, he remembered a place - the abandoned factory in the west of the city.
That was the base of Lan, a close confidant of Chen's partner, who was responsible for some shady activities on a daily basis.
The car braked suddenly and stopped in front of the factory gate. Mou Xuan kicked open the rusty iron gate with a loud bang.
"Who?!" Lan Qingxin's voice came from deep in the factory, with a hint of vigilance.
"It's me, Mou Xuan!"
Lan's confidant came out with a few of his men, and when he saw it was Mou Xuan, a hint of surprise flashed across his face.
"What are you doing here?" He asked in an unfriendly tone, his hand already quietly reaching for the weapon at his waist.
"Stop talking nonsense! Where is Chen Yao?" Mou Xuan's eyes were wide open, and his gaze was as sharp as a knife.
"I don't know what you're talking about." Lan's confidant's eyes flickered, trying to cover up.
"Stop pretending!" Mou Xuan sneered, "I know about Partner Chen's plan, and I also know that you are involved in it. What benefit did he promise to give you? To let you betray your brothers and betray your conscience?"
Lan's confidant's face changed. He didn't expect that Mou Xuan knew so much.
The men behind him also began to become restless and uneasy.
"You... don't talk nonsense!" Lan's confidant pretended to be calm, "I know nothing."
"Really?" Mou Xuan pressed on. "Then tell me, why was my safe house attacked by the men in black? Why did Chen Yao suddenly disappear? These have nothing to do with Partner Chen and you?"
Beads of sweat oozed from Lan's forehead, and his lips trembled slightly, "I..."
"You'd better think it over carefully." Mu Xuan's voice was low and threatening. "It's not too late to turn back now."
Lan's henchmen began to struggle violently.
On one side, there are threats and inducements from partner Chen, and on the other side, there is the condemnation of conscience and oppression from Mou Xuan.
He looked at Mou Xuan, then at his men behind him, and swallowed hard...
Lan's henchman's eyes were like a roller coaster, up and down, so tangled that they were almost tangled.
Mou Xuan's words were like a heavy hammer, hitting his shaky psychological defenses again and again.
Finally, he fell to his knees with a plop, like a deflated ball.
"I'll tell you, I'll tell you everything!" Lan's confidant cried, "It was Chen's accomplice. He asked me to take Chen Yao to the abandoned warehouse outside the city!"
Mou Xuan's heart was shocked, and his anger was instantly replaced by worry. "How is Chen Yao now?"
"I... I don't know," Lan's confidant said with tears in his eyes, "He only said that he would lock her up for a few days until he completed his plan..."
"Lead the way!" Mu Xuan grabbed Lan's confidant by the collar, his eyes fierce as if he wanted to eat someone, "If Chen Yao loses a hair, I will send your whole family to see the King of Hell!"
Lan's confidant was so frightened that he rushed out of the factory with Mou Xuan, rolling and crawling.
Along the way, he revealed all of Chen's accomplices' plans, including how to attack the safe house, how to lure away Mou Xuan, and how to kidnap Chen Yao.
Hearing the clattering of Mou Xuan's fists, he wished he could cremate Chen right now.
There was an abandoned warehouse outside the city, and the air was filled with a smell of decay.
Mou Xuan kicked open the door of the warehouse, and what came into view was Chen Yao tied to a chair.
Her mouth was sealed with tape, her eyes were red and swollen, and when she saw Mou Xuan, tears instantly burst out.
"Yaoyao!" Mou Xuan rushed over, tore off the tape on her mouth and untied the rope.
Chen Yao threw herself into Mou Xuan's arms like a wounded kitten, hugged him tightly, and choked with sobs, unable to speak.
Mou Xuan also hugged her tightly, feeling the warmth of her body, and the huge rock in his heart finally fell to the ground.
The joy of surviving the disaster erupted like a volcano, instantly overwhelming him.
He bent down and kissed Chen Yao's forehead, and said softly, "It's okay, it's all over."
The two of them were affectionate for a while, and then Mou Xuan picked up Chen Yao, his eyes instantly turned cold, "Let's go and settle the score with accomplice Chen!"
As the sun sets, Chen is sitting in his luxurious villa, drinking red wine, listening to music, looking like a winner in life.
He had no idea that a storm was about to come.
"Bang!" The door of the villa was kicked open by someone, and Chen's accomplice was so scared that the wine glass in his hand almost fell to the ground.
He looked up and saw Mou Xuan's murderous face, and Chen Yao, who was tightly held in his arms with tears on her face.
"Hey, what brings you here?" Chen's partner pretended to be calm, with a false smile on his face, "Xuan Zi, I still want to have a drink with you!"
"Old thief, stop pretending!" Mou Xuan gently put Chen Yao on the ground, his eyes like a poisoned knife, staring fiercely at Chen's accomplice, "You betrayed me and kidnapped Chen Yao, do you think you are so awesome?"
