Chapter 59: The Scout Missing: Hidden Danger

As night falls, the lights on the safety rooftop building are like an isolated island in the vast black sea.

The news of Xiaowu's disappearance was like a basin of ice water on a winter night, extinguishing the excitement of everyone.

"When was the last time you saw him?" Mou Xuan's voice was as cold as ice, and his eyes were as sharp as a knife.

"Yesterday...last night..." The person who brought the news was trembling, his voice as thin as a mosquito.

"Let's go! Take your weapons and go find him!" Mou Xuan waved his hand, and a murderous aura instantly spread.

The group was fully armed and the atmosphere was as heavy as a pot about to explode.

They came to the place where Xiaowu was last seen - an abandoned office building.

The office building was once a landmark of the city before the end of the world, but now it has become a ruin, eerie and scary.

The wind howled through the broken windows, making sounds like ghosts howling.

The corridor was filled with debris and the smell of decay was sickening.

The graffiti on the wall is mottled, and vaguely shows the traces of despair left by people before the end of the world.

"This damn place is as eerie as the King of Hell's Palace." Merchant Ding rubbed his arms and couldn't help complaining.

"Everyone be careful and pay attention to your surroundings!" Mou Xuan reminded in a low voice, looking around vigilantly.

The search team was divided into several groups and moved carefully in the office building.

The air was filled with dust and mold, making it difficult to breathe.

The occasional squeaking of mice added to the terrifying atmosphere.

"Could it be that Xiaowu has defected?" Soldier Wu frowned, with doubt in his tone.

"Impossible! Xiaowu is loyal to the boss, how could he defect!" The Xin refugee representative immediately refuted, emotionally.

"Who knows what people's hearts are like? In the end times, anything can happen." Soldier Wu snorted coldly.

"You..." The Xin refugee representative's face turned red with anger, but he was unable to refute.

The two of them argued endlessly, and the depressing atmosphere became even more intense.

In the end times, trust is more precious than gold, but more fragile than glass.

At this moment, Mou Xuan suddenly stopped and his eyes fell on a pool of dark red blood in the corner of the wall...

“This blood…” Chen Yao covered her mouth, her face turning pale in an instant.

Mou Xuan squatted down, looked at the bloodstains carefully, frowning.

"The blood hasn't completely dried yet..."

He raised his head and scanned the crowd with a sharp gaze. "Something's going on here!"

"Shut up!" Mou Xuan's low shout echoed like thunder in the silent corridor, instantly stopping the quarrel between the Wu soldier and the Xin refugee representative.

"Now is not the time for internal strife, let's find Xiaowu first!"

He squatted down, scanned the bloodstains on the ground with sharp eyes, touched them lightly with his fingertips, and sniffed them with his nose.

"The blood is not dry yet, the color is dark red, and the amount is not large. It is not a fatal wound." He stood up and looked around, his eyes resting on a few fresh scratches on the wall.

"These scratches are very recent, as if they were caused by some sharp weapon, and they are in the same direction, as if they were dragged..."

Mou Xuan paused, and said firmly: "Xiao Wu should still be alive, he was kidnapped."

After hearing this, everyone's originally nervous and anxious mood calmed down a little, and they all looked at Mou Xuan with admiration.

This man always keeps a cool head in times of crisis, clears the fog and finds direction.

It is simply the stabilizing force in the end times!

Chen Yao walked to Mou Xuan and asked with concern: "Are you okay? Are you injured?"

Mou Xuan turned to look at Chen Yao, and felt the concern in her tone, and his heart warmed.

"I'm fine, don't worry." He gave her a reassuring look.

Chen Yao's cheeks flushed slightly, and she nodded gently, with a barely perceptible tenderness in her eyes.

This subtle interaction did not escape the eyes of Ding the businessman.

He touched his chin and smiled meaningfully.

It seems that in this apocalypse, in addition to material things, there are also love stories to be explored.

"Boss, what should we do now?" Soldier Wu broke the brief ambiguous atmosphere.

Mou Xuan's gaze fell on the bloodstains on the ground again, following the dragging marks, extending to a tightly closed fire door.

"Chase!" He said in a firm tone, with a cold light flashing in his eyes.

"No matter who it is, anyone who dares to touch me will pay the price!"

He walked to the fire door and pushed hard, but it didn't budge.

"It seems that the other party has been prepared..." Mou Xuan curled his lips into a cold smile, "Then let me see who you are!"

He took a few steps back, raised his foot suddenly, and kicked the fire door hard.

"Bang!" With a loud bang, the fire door shattered, revealing the dark passage inside...

"Walk!"

The fire door was violently kicked open, revealing a bottomless black passage, like a monster with its bloody mouth wide open, waiting for its prey.

Mou Xuan stood at the door, his eyes as sharp as an eagle, staring into the depths of the passage, a rare look of hesitation on his face.

"Boss, it's dark in there, is there some trap?" Merchant Ding shrank his neck, with a hint of fear in his tone.

"These bastards must have planned this in advance!" Soldier Wu gritted his teeth and gripped his weapon tightly.

"How about we take a long-term view?" Doctor Ji's voice trembled, and he was obviously frightened.

Mou Xuan ignored everyone's concerns. Xiao Wu was his brother and must be saved!

He took a deep breath, his eyes became firm again, and an invisible domineering aura emanated from him.

"Brothers, what are you afraid of? Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Today, I will let these villains know what will happen if they mess with me, Mou Xuan!" He sneered, like a king about to hunt.
