The night was as dark as ink. Several modified off-road vehicles roared away from the alliance base like steel behemoths.
The headlights tore through the darkness, illuminating the rugged road ahead.
Mou Xuan sat in the first car, his eyes as sharp as an eagle, as if he could penetrate the endless darkness.
"Brother Mu, do you think this water source is as mysterious as Lao Tao said?" Ji, the transport worker, asked in a muffled voice. His sturdy arms were thicker than an ordinary person's thighs, as if he could tear the enemy apart with his bare hands.
Mou Xuan smiled slightly, with a confident arc on his lips: "It's mysterious or not, you'll know when you go there."
In the co-pilot seat, Chen Yao was holding a tablet computer with water source information provided by Tao Water Conservancy expert.
She frowned slightly and said in a serious tone: "According to Lao Tao's analysis, this area is rich in groundwater resources. There may be natural springs or even underground rivers."
"Oh my god, a natural spring? Then can we take a bath whenever we want in the future?" Ji, the transport worker, rubbed his hands excitedly, as if he could already smell the scent of the clear spring water.

The off-road convoy sped along and soon approached the water source.

The convoy slowly stopped, and Mou Xuan jumped out of the car first. He saw a group of fully armed men in front of him. The leader was a burly man with a fleshy face. He was the leader of the Xiang force.
"Mou Xuan, you are so brave that you dare to come to my territory!" The leader of the Xiang force spoke in a rough voice, like the roar of a wild beast.
Mou Xuan sneered and went forward without showing any weakness: "This is not your Xiang family's territory. The water source is a public resource. Whoever has the ability can get it."
"Bullshit! I have been eyeing this piece of land for a long time. You still have time to get out of here now. Otherwise, don't blame me for being rude!" The leader of the Xiang force waved the machete in his hand, with a ferocious look as if he wanted to eat Mou Xuan alive.
"Want to scare me? You are not qualified!" Mou Xuan's eyes turned cold, and a powerful aura burst out instantly, confronting the leader of Xiang's forces.
The two sides were on the verge of a fight, and the air was filled with a strong smell of gunpowder.
"Mou Xuan, don't think I don't know about your alliance's troubles," the leader of the Xiang faction said with a fierce smile, "I heard that there is unrest within your alliance. Maybe my people have already infiltrated your alliance..."
Mou Xuan's heart shuddered, and an ominous premonition came to his mind.
Negotiation representative Jiang, with slicked-back hair and powdered face, waved a feather fan, and walked leisurely between the two groups, looking like a military advisor who had traveled through time.
"Hey, hey, hey, two good men, if you have something to say, please talk it out nicely. Fighting and killing is not good. How about this, Boss Mou, can we talk for a moment?" He winked at Mou Xuan with an expression that said "I understand you".
Mou Xuan sneered in his heart, what is this all about?
It was obviously the Hongmen Banquet.
But he remained calm and agreed readily: "Okay, Mr. Jiang invites me so kindly, I would be disrespectful to refuse." His action made the younger brothers behind him dumbfounded, and Ji, the transport worker, was so anxious that he kept scratching his head: "Brother Mu, this old guy must have bad intentions, we can't go!"
Qi Defense Team member also followed suit: "That's right, Brother Mu, be careful, there may be fraud!"
Mou Xuan simply patted them on the shoulders, gave them a look that said "Don't worry, I know what's going on", and followed negotiating representative Jiang to a makeshift tent nearby.
Inside the tent, negotiator Jiang lowered his voice in a mysterious manner: "Boss Mou, let me tell you the truth, our boss actually admires you very much. As long as you are willing to cooperate, we can share the water source, and..." He paused and threw out a bait, "We can also help you get rid of the traitor in the alliance."
Mou Xuan looked at his performance with a smile on his face: "Oh? Mr. Jiang knows that there is a traitor in our alliance? Tell me, who is it?"
Negotiation representative Jiang's eyes flickered and he pretended to be unfathomable: "Well, this will be kept secret for now. As long as you agree to cooperate, I will naturally tell you." He picked up the water on the table, took a sip slowly, looking like he was sure of victory.
"Tsk tsk tsk, it's a shame that Mr. Jiang didn't win an Oscar for his acting skills." Mou Xuan shook his head, with a hint of sarcasm in his tone, "You keep saying that there is a traitor in our alliance, but you can't even say the name. Are you lying to me?"
Negotiation representative Jiang's face changed and he almost dropped the water cup in his hand.

Qi Defense Team member couldn't help but ask: "Brother Mu, how is it? Didn't the old guy do anything to you?"
Mou Xuan smiled and shook his head: "They are just a bunch of clowns."
