In the middle of the night, Mu Qianxue was half asleep when she suddenly heard some noise. She stood up alertly and asked cautiously, "Who is it?"
But no one responded, only the whistling of the cold wind could be heard.
She got up, lit the tinder, and lit the candle. The room suddenly became bright. She looked around and saw nothing.
With a bang, the window hit the wall with a crisp sound, and she realized that the window that she had closed before going to bed at night was opened.
She walked to the bed and closed the window again, and found that heavy snow was falling outside, illuminating the originally dark night. For some reason, she shuddered and suddenly felt a little uneasy.
She always felt that there was something around her, so she put on her outer robe, opened the door and walked into the yard. She saw Chang Xiao standing at the door motionless, his face and body covered with thick white snow, like an ice sculpture.
Hearing the noise, Chang Xiao turned around and looked at Mu Qianxue with a strange look in his eyes. He called out in a hoarse voice, "Miss."
"Is anyone coming? Or is there any unusual movement around?" Mu Qianxue stared at him and asked.
Chang Xiao shook his head. "No, I have been guarding here the entire time and haven't noticed any unusual movements."
"Okay, keep a close eye on it."
"yes."
Mu Qianxue gave an order and turned to go into the house. After a while, she came out of the house with a thick cloak in her hand for Chang Xiao.
"It will be warmer if you put it on."
A smile appeared on Chang Xiao's serious face as he took the cloak from Mu Qianxue's hand, but his hand was holding Mu Qianxue's slender white hand. His heart tightened and his body began to feel strange. Mu Qianxue glared at him and he quickly let go of her hand.
"When we get back to the mansion, you better behave yourself, or...get out!"
Chang Xiao was startled. He immediately knelt on the ground and confessed: "I know I was wrong. Please punish me, young lady!"
Mu Qianxue kicked him in the chest, sliding down along his chest until she landed on a spot. Chang Xiao's nerves suddenly tensed up, his Adam's apple rolled involuntarily, and he said in a hoarse voice, "Miss."
He seemed to be trying hard to suppress something. Mu Qianxue laughed: "This can even excite you!"
She retracted her foot, turned around and went back into the house without looking at Chang Xiao again. Chang Xiao's hands holding the cloak trembled uncontrollably, and he was extremely excited.
Back in the room, Mu Qianxue took off her coat, revealing her jade-white skin. She twisted her waist and walked towards the bed, but found something extra on the bed.
"oops!"
She screamed in panic. Chang Xiao heard the woman's cry and ran in hurriedly, "Miss, what's wrong?"
Mu Qianxue threw herself into Chang Xiao's arms, hugged his waist, pointed at the thing on the bed, and said, "Cat, cat..." Her face turned pale, her lips trembled, and her body was shaking.
Chang Xiao reached out and patted the back of her hand, comforting her: "Miss, you are afraid, I will go and take a look."
He let go of Mu Qianxue and walked to the bed. He really found a dead cat lying on the bed. The color of this cat was similar to that of the cat of his second grandmother who died this morning, but it was different when he looked closely.
This one died even more miserably, with blood oozing from all seven orifices, and the cat's eyes were open, as if it died with its eyes open.

Chang Xiao's eyes darkened. He reached out to grab the cat that looked so ugly dead, then walked out and buried it in the yard. After it was done, he went into the house and changed all the bedding.

Mu Qianxue shook her head. Her eyes were a little dull, and no one knew what she was thinking. All she could hear was the crackling sound of the candle burning.
Chang Xiao felt very distressed. He walked over and made a cup of tea for Mu Qianxue, "Miss, this is a calming tea. Please drink some." He put the teacup in Mu Qianxue's hand.
Suddenly, Mu Qianxue turned around, looked at Chang Xiao, and asked, "Is it because Second Brother suspects that I killed Second Sister-in-law's cat, so he came to warn me?"
Chang Xiao held Mu Qianxue in his arms, patted her on the back and said, "I know that the young lady didn't mean it. The Second Young Master must have misunderstood. Don't worry, I will explain this matter to the Second Young Master."
Mu Qianxue nodded, "Chang Xiao, thank you!"
"What are you talking about, Miss? It is my honor to share your worries."
Chang Xiao comforted Mu Qianxue until she fell asleep, and then he left. He did not leave or rest, but just stood outside and kept guarding, fearing that something disgusting would scare Mu Qianxue again. It was not until Mu Qianxue woke up at dawn that Chang Xiao left and rested for a while.
The snow is still falling today, and it is getting heavier and heavier. The weather is freezing and extremely cold.
Mu Qianxue was wearing a fox fur coat. After breakfast, she went outside with her maids Suxin and Lianxin.
"Second Miss, it's so cold out here, you should not go out. You can go to the market another day." said the maid Su Xin.
