Only when Zheng Huiyi stopped resisting did Luo's mother turn and leave, satisfied.
After leaving the house, the thugs immediately escorted Zheng Huiyi to a courtyard next door, which was the place all the girls had to go to before their first time serving customers.
To ensure these girls could perfectly serve the VIPs, the old woman would meticulously groom them from head to toe, from underwear to outerwear, and then force them to take stimulants to achieve the best possible pleasing effect.
Although Zheng Huiyi didn't fully understand the mystery behind it, she knew perfectly well that it was definitely not a benevolent place.
However, she was powerless to extricate herself and dared not resist.
After witnessing Zheng Huiyi being led into Granny Xi's courtyard, Madam Luo gently patted the hem of her dress and prepared to go to the front yard to get busy.
Unexpectedly, as soon as she stepped into the main building of Xiaoxiang Pavilion, she was met by an old servant: "Mother, someone asked me to give this to you and urge you to look it up as soon as possible."
Mrs. Luo looked down and examined the object in her hand, discovering it was a letter.
She casually opened it, her gaze immediately froze, and her expression changed drastically.
The letter reads as follows: If you wish to find out the whereabouts of your son, bring the girl you abducted eight days ago and meet me at the pavilion ten miles outside the city.
Mother Luo gripped the letter tightly, her gaze sharp as she pressed, "Who gave you this letter?"
The old servant was completely bewildered; it was the first time he had ever seen Madam Luo so distraught. He quickly replied, "Jin Tianming, he claims to be delivering a message. Madam, what happened? Should we arrest Jin Tianming?"
Mother Luo lowered her head and read the letter again, then said anxiously, "Quickly go to Granny Xi and bring that girl here!"
"Furthermore, summon the guards in the courtyard to accompany me out of the city."
The old servant asked in surprise, "Are we leaving the city now? What will happen to the business in the building?"
Mrs. Luo kicked him impatiently: "Just because I was gone for one night, does that mean the business can't be done? Go and make arrangements for me right now!"
...
At the ten-mile-long pavilion outside the city, Gu Qinlan, dressed in men's clothing, waited anxiously with Hongye and Jiang Ye.
Jin Tianming and his wife, Aunt Lian, along with several attendants from the Duan Prince's Mansion, hid in the woods in the distance.
They originally planned to wait for Mother Luo in the pavilion with Gu Qinlan, but Gu Qinlan thought it was not advisable to provoke her, and that it would be easier to deal with her if there were fewer people.
They hid here in case Madam Luo suddenly turned on them and captured them all, so they could call for help in time.
After waiting for about half an hour, several torches broke through the night and sped toward this place.
"They're here."
Hongye immediately stepped forward and stood guard beside Gu Qinlan.
Gu Qinlan said calmly, "There's no need to be so wary; she wouldn't dare to act rashly."
That child was of utmost importance to Luo's mother, and she would not give up as long as there was a glimmer of hope.
Soon, Madam Luo's party arrived in front of the pavilion. Madam Luo lifted the carriage curtain and stepped out gracefully. With a quick glance, she spotted the figure in the pavilion and astutely recognized that Gu Qinlan was disguised as a man.
Mrs. Luo stepped out of the car and asked bluntly, "Do you know where my son is? Where is he now?"
Gu Qinlan raised her head and replied, "I need to see the person I need first."
Mrs. Luo's gaze was sharp as a knife as she stared directly at Gu Qinlan: "I have a habit of making things clear from the start. If you dare to deceive me, your end will be extremely miserable."
Gu Qinlan chuckled, full of confidence: "Of course I know that, but since I dare to show myself, I am confident that I can get out unscathed."
Mrs. Luo stared at Gu Qinlan for a long time, then sneered, "I didn't expect you to be so young yet so courageous. Zheng Dinglian is really lucky."
Gu Qinlan wasn't surprised that Madam Luo knew her identity. After all, Xiaoxiang Pavilion was the Third Prince's intelligence gathering base; if even Zheng Dinglian's marriage was unknown, then the existence of Xiaoxiang Pavilion would be meaningless.
She smiled and said, "But compared to Madam Luo's master, she is still far inferior. To dare to kidnap and force the family members of even high-ranking officials into prostitution is an audacious act that is simply astonishing."
Madam Luo's eyes narrowed: "You actually know my master's identity?"
Gu Qinlan smiled and held up three fingers: "Of course. If anything happens to me or my people today, I will hand over your master's identity and his secrets to his enemies. With this evidence, even if your master doesn't fall, he won't have an easy time."
She had to make Luo's mother wary.
After all, Luo's mother had the blood of countless innocent people on her hands, so she had to be wary that the other party would take her down as well after getting the information they wanted.
"But please rest assured, Madam Luo, my purpose in coming here is only to find my maid, not to be an enemy of you or your master. As long as Madam Luo keeps her promise, our transaction will proceed smoothly and pleasantly."
She didn't want to provoke the Third Prince.
The Third Prince could deal with her as easily as crushing an ant.
If it weren't for saving Zheng Huiyi, she would never have clashed with the Third Prince at this sensitive moment.
Therefore, she had to make her stance clear first, lest she die an unexplained death later.
Mrs. Luo was clearly a very intelligent woman. She instantly saw through Gu Qinlan's intentions and gave a contemptuous sneer: "Aren't you worried that I'll settle scores with you later? You have far too much information."
Gu Qinlan revealed a confident smile: "You won't do that."
Mrs. Luo narrowed her eyes slightly, her tone tinged with doubt: "Are you so sure?"
