As the sun sets, the evening glow paints the sky crimson, and Qingfeng Temple is gradually enveloped in a warm twilight.
In the courtyard of the temple, several lanterns were lit, their soft glow spreading gently.
Liu Feng had already instructed his disciples to prepare a banquet.
At this moment, the family was laughing and chatting, sitting around the stone table in the courtyard.
The table was laden with delicacies, all meticulously prepared by the disciples of Qingfeng Temple. Among them were fresh seasonal vegetables from the mountains, vibrant green and crisp, exuding the freshness of earth and dew.
There were also rare and precious lingzhi mushrooms, which shimmered with an unusual luster and emitted an enticing aroma under the firelight.
He Qunfang sat at the head of the table, her loving gaze sweeping over the younger generation. She would occasionally place a piece of food on Yu Jingya's plate, murmuring words of concern: "Jingya, eat more. You've gotten so thin; you need to nourish yourself."
Yu Jingya blushed and thanked her softly, her shy appearance like a newly blossoming peach blossom.
She thought to herself, "Actually, I'm not thin at all. I'm quite curvy in all the right places. My mother-in-law must be mistaken." As she thought this, a faint smile unconsciously appeared on her lips.
Liu Changqing sat opposite Liu Feng, the father and son discussing the wonderful methods of cultivation in the temple. Every now and then, they would raise their cups and share a cup of fragrant wine with their son.
The wine warmed his body instantly as it entered his throat, and laughter echoed throughout the room.
He Tiantian, like a well-behaved kitten, sat between her aunt He Qunfang and sister-in-law Yu Jingya, holding a small bowl filled with her favorite honey-glazed taro.
Her cheeks bulged as she ate, savoring the taro with relish, while blinking her big eyes and asking curiously, "Sister-in-law, why do the stars in the sky shine?"
Yu Jingya smiled and patted her head, explaining, "The stars are very, very far away from us. They shine on their own, just like the lanterns we light. If you like, Tiantian, your cousin can take you to the mountaintop to see the stars tonight, okay?"
He Tiantian's eyes lit up, and she nodded repeatedly, "Okay, okay! Tiantian wants to see the stars!"
Looking at her little niece's innocent and carefree appearance, He Qunfang couldn't help but laugh and said, "This child gets so happy as soon as she hears about playing."
She turned to Yu Jingya and said, "Jingya, when you have children in the future, they will definitely be as lively and adorable as Tiantian."
Yu Jingya blushed and whispered, "Mom, you're here again..."
Liu Yue teased from the side, "Jingya, don't be shy, Mom is looking forward to holding her grandson!"
His words drew laughter from everyone.
Liu Changqing picked up his teacup, took a small sip, and smiled contentedly.
A gentle evening breeze carries the fragrance of flowers.
Liu Feng stood up, walked to a corner of the courtyard, took out a guqin, and gently plucked the strings.
The melodious sound of the piano echoed in the night sky, blending with the distant mountain breeze and stream.
At this moment, everyone in Qingfeng Temple stopped what they were doing, listening intently, completely absorbed.
The song ended.
He Tiantian clapped her hands excitedly and said, "Cousin is so amazing! Tiantian wants to learn too!"
Liu Feng smiled and nodded: "Okay, when Tian Tian is a little older, your cousin will teach you."
As night deepened, the stars in the sky lit up one by one.
Liu Feng led He Tiantian and her family to the top of the mountain behind Qingfeng Temple. The view from the top was expansive, the night breeze was cool, and the starry sky seemed within reach.
He Tiantian tilted her little face up and excitedly pointed to the sky: "Cousin, that star is so bright! What's its name?"
Liu Feng looked in the direction she pointed and smiled, "That's the North Star, it always points north. If you get lost, as long as you find it, you can find your way home."
He Tiantian nodded as if she understood, then pointed to another patch of starry sky and asked, "What about those stars that look like spoons over there?"
Liu Yue smiled and chimed in, "That's the Big Dipper. Sweetie is so smart; she recognized it at a glance."
He Tiantian proudly raised her little face: "Tiantian is the smartest!"
Everyone burst into laughter at her antics.
He Qunfang hugged He Tiantian and whispered, "Tiantian, when you grow up, you should be a capable person like your older cousins, okay?"
He Tiantian nodded vigorously: "Yes! Tiantian wants to be as amazing as her cousin!"
Liu Feng felt a surge of warmth as he watched this scene.
Yu Jingya walked to Liu Feng's side, gently took his hand, and whispered, "Let's have a child too."
Liu Feng replied softly, "Okay."
A gentle night breeze blew, and starlight shone on the family, making everyone appear even brighter.
