Chapter 3 Returning to Qingfeng Temple

Majestic and towering, seventy-two peaks rise into the clouds, sheer cliffs rise thousands of feet, thirty-six rock walls pierce the sky, and twenty-four streams murmur softly...

Liu Feng gently held Yu Jingya's soft, boneless hand and strolled leisurely to the foot of a mountain.

Yu Jingya tilted her head slightly, nestled beside Liu Feng, her beautiful, star-like eyes sparkling with curiosity.

With no way forward, the group stopped and turned their gaze to Liu Feng.

Upon seeing this, Tong Miao hurriedly took out the jade pendant given to him by Liu Feng from his bosom, intending to lead the group forward.

However, Liu Feng gently raised his hand to stop him: "There's no need for that."

Tong Miao was taken aback, his face full of doubt. His hand froze in mid-air, and then he silently stepped aside, waiting for Liu Feng to continue.

Liu Yue and Liu Xiaoling looked puzzled and asked almost simultaneously, "Fourth brother, there's no way forward. Which way should we go?"

Liu Feng smiled slightly and said calmly, "Don't rush, let's wait and see."

As soon as he finished speaking, a gentle breeze swept over him, making him feel refreshed and relaxed.

Immediately afterwards.

The steep mountain that had blocked their way slowly dissipated like morning mist, and a winding mountain path quietly appeared beneath their feet, with lush green grass on both sides, like a green carpet.

A gentle breeze blows, a stark contrast to the scorching heat outside, making this place seem like a secluded, mysterious fairyland, full of fantasy and mystery.

Yu Jingya and the others stared wide-eyed, asking in astonishment, "What exactly is going on?"

Liu Feng explained softly, "Just now, that mountain was just an illusion; ordinary people would never be able to find the entrance!"

Upon hearing this, Liu Xiaoling couldn't help but exclaim in amazement, "Wow, that's amazing!"

After several twists and turns, the group finally arrived at a flat basin.

Surrounded by mountains, which act as a natural barrier, this peaceful land is protected. In the center of the basin, an ancient and solemn Taoist temple stands quietly.

Behind the Taoist temple, a waterfall cascades down like a silver river, splashing water and making a pleasant sound.

In front of the Taoist temple, a stream flows gently, its water crystal clear.

On the mountainside, figures can be faintly seen working in the fields. Dressed in simple clothes, they blend into the land, creating a harmonious picture.

The surrounding area is planted with all kinds of fruits, vegetables and exotic flowers and plants, filling the air with fragrance.

As the group slowly entered the Taoist temple gate, a spacious and bright courtyard came into view.

The courtyard is paved with bluestone slabs, and tender green grass grows vigorously in the gaps.

In the center of the courtyard is an ancient well, the source of the water vein. The air around the well is exceptionally fresh and cool, making the entire Taoist temple cool in summer and warm in winter.

Several simple and elegant buildings are scattered around the courtyard.

A few years ago, this place underwent a careful layout and renovation, further highlighting the mysterious and tranquil beauty of Taoism.

To the east is a scripture pavilion, a tall building that houses numerous Taoist classics and ancient books.

The alchemy room is located to the west, facing east, with a unique layout that is conducive to the refining of elixirs.

To the south is the dining hall, where everyone eats.

To the north is the meditation hall, which is spacious and bright, enshrining the statues of the Taoist patriarchs, with prayer cushions placed around it for disciples to meditate and cultivate.

A huge oil lamp hangs from the roof of the meditation hall, its flickering light emitting a soft glow that gives a sense of tranquility and peace, as if it can purify one's soul.

Inside Qingfeng Temple.

At this moment, when Granny Sun learned that Liu Feng was about to return, she hurriedly led the two boys, Yun Yi and Feng Ling, out of the Taoist temple to greet him.

Grandma Sun wore an elegant long robe, her gray hair was neatly tied up, and her kind face was full of smiles.

She walked steadily, her hands swaying gently. As the manager of the daily affairs of Qingfeng Temple, she felt very satisfied and happy with her current life.

Yunyi is a six-year-old boy wearing a light blue Taoist robe. His hair is tied on top of his head, revealing his smooth forehead. His eyes are clear and bright, full of curiosity and innocence.

Fengling was slightly younger than Yunyi, with two pigtails sticking up in the air. She hopped and skipped behind Granny Sun, looking around with great anticipation for the soon-to-be-returned abbot.

The servant Li Fu walked at the back. He was tall and strong, with dark skin and deep-set eyes that seemed to have seen many hardships.

He was in charge of managing the herb garden and also taught the two boys, Yunyi and Fengling, their daily cultivation practices.

At that moment, an old Taoist priest sweeping the floor slowly walked over. He was wearing a tattered Taoist robe, his hair was gray, his face was covered with wrinkles, and his eyes were cloudy.

He held a broom in his hand, sweeping the courtyard at a leisurely pace, as if all the noise outside had nothing to do with him.

There was also a young Taoist nun named Jingyi.

She had delicate features and a cool gaze, dressed in a pure white Taoist robe, like a blooming white lotus. Jingyi was skilled at playing the zither, and whenever she played melodious tunes, the entire Qingfeng Temple was immersed in a peaceful and serene atmosphere.

Those who can enter Qingfeng Temple are all extraordinary individuals.

Apart from keeping the secrets of Qingfeng Temple and fulfilling their obligations, they enjoyed full freedom.

When Liu Feng and the others came into view, Granny Sun was the first to step forward and said with a smile, "Welcome back, Abbot."

Liu Feng nodded slightly and replied, "Grandma Sun, you're still in good health."

He then introduced Liu Yue, Liu Xiaoling, and Yu Jingya to everyone.

Tong Miao and the others naturally recognized them, while Yun Yi, Feng Ling, and the other servants curiously sized up this mysterious abbot.

Led by Granny Sun, the group entered Qingfeng Temple.
