Chapter 40 The Gathering at Cuiyun Pavilion

At night, the entire county town was enveloped in a tranquil atmosphere, except for the Xianshan Entertainment City, which remained brightly lit and bustling with activity.

Liu Feng did not go home.

He handed over some extremely precious pills to Zhang Kaitai, only to find that he had very few left. To replenish his supplies, he decided to stay temporarily on the sixth floor of the Xianshan Entertainment City, planning to refine some pills first.

On the sixth floor of Xianshan Entertainment City, there is a private area exclusively for Liu Feng.

He entered the quiet room, where he was greeted by rare medicinal herbs that Zhang Kaitai had gathered. They were arranged quietly, each emitting a unique fragrance.

He closed the door, entered the magic gourd space, and began to concentrate on refining pills.

Inside the magic gourd space, Liu Feng manipulated the alchemy furnace. Under his control, the flames burned fiercely, and the medicinal herbs gradually fused together under the high temperature, emitting a mysterious aura, as if containing powerful energy.

Time passed quietly, and Liu Feng was completely immersed in the process of alchemy, forgetting everything in the outside world.

Meanwhile, on the fifth floor of the Xianshan Entertainment City, there is a place called "Cuiyunxuan".

The restaurant boasts an elegant ambiance; every detail of the decor appears simple, yet exudes an understated, indescribable luxury. Even the unassuming little stools are made of rosewood from the Philippines. However, in this impoverished small county, no one recognizes this; everyone simply considers them ordinary solid wood furniture.

The menu at "Cuiyunxuan" is also unique. There is no fixed menu; the dishes available to guests are determined entirely by the ingredients available in the restaurant that day.

A group of young people were led by a waiter to a reserved private room. Two of them were particularly eye-catching, surrounded by the crowd like stars around the moon. If Liu Feng were here, he would recognize them at a glance: one was class monitor Yuan Zhihao, and the other was Xiang Chao.

These people were all Liu Feng's high school classmates.

The private room was spacious and bright, decorated with exquisite elegance, every corner revealing the host's care and taste. A bouquet of vibrant flowers sat in the center of the large round dining table, adding a touch of warmth to the entire space.

Everyone took their seats, their faces beaming with smiles.

Before long, one delicious dish after another, with its appealing color, aroma, and taste, was served, and the enticing fragrance instantly attracted everyone's attention.

Many of them were dining here for the first time and were deeply attracted by the ambiance and food, marveling that such a high-end restaurant existed in their hometown county.

"Wow, this 'Jadeite Shrimp Balls' looks absolutely irresistible! The shrimp meat is so plump it looks like it's about to overflow, and the bright colors are so appetizing. Paired with vibrant green vegetables, it's a feast for both the eyes and the taste buds!" one student exclaimed.

The students next to them nodded in agreement, and couldn't wait to pick up their chopsticks, grab a shrimp ball, and put it in their mouths to taste it.

"Yes, and the 'Secret Recipe Braised Pork Ribs' are absolutely amazing! They smell so good, they make your mouth water. I heard the food here is really expensive, but considering the taste, it's definitely worth it," another classmate chimed in.

The bright red ribs exuded a rich, savory aroma that made one want to devour them as soon as they smelled them.

Everyone enjoyed the delicious food and started chatting happily.

Gradually, the conversation turned to their respective lives and work.

"I recently started working at a big company. Although the work pressure is a bit high, the career prospects are pretty good," a stylishly dressed woman said first, her tone revealing a hint of undisguised pride.

“Hey, that’s great. I work at a startup. It’s not big, but it’s full of challenges, and I feel really motivated,” one guy said, not to be outdone.

"I just bought a new car. It's not a luxury car, but it's okay and meets my daily travel needs." Another classmate also started to show off in a low-key manner.

Everyone chatted amongst themselves, subtly showcasing their achievements in life and work. However, amidst this seemingly lively atmosphere, some students listened quietly, a faint smile on their faces, without saying a word.

At this moment, a female student suddenly said, "Actually, I think life doesn't necessarily have to be about great achievements. A simple and ordinary life is just fine. I'm a teacher in a small county now. Although my income isn't high, I feel a great sense of accomplishment when I see my students growing up healthy and happy every day."

These words caused a brief silence among everyone, as if they were pondering something. Then, everyone nodded in agreement, seemingly having gained some insight from the girl's words.

"Come on, everyone, let's toast our people's teachers." Xiang Chao stood up, raised his glass first, and then drank a glass with Zhu Shuang.

Xiang Chao is now a manager at a logistics company, and he is considered one of the more successful among his classmates.

Everyone looked at Xiang Chao and knew that he had always had feelings for Zhu Shuang, so they all toasted the two of them, hoping to bring them together.

Unfortunately, her feelings for Xiang Chao were unrequited; Zhu Shuang didn't seem to have any special feelings for him.

At this moment, the waiter brought out another dish, "Golden Broth Fish with Egg White". The tender fish meat was faintly visible in the golden broth, making people want to take a bite as soon as they saw it.

Just as everyone was about to dig in and savor the delicious dish, class monitor Yuan Zhihao suddenly stood up and announced, "I plan to hold my wedding on the 28th day of the first lunar month, and I sincerely invite all my old classmates to attend." After saying that, he took out invitations from his pocket and handed them to each of his classmates.
