Chapter 47 He Qunfang Returns to Her Parents' Home

On the second day of the Lunar New Year, a heavy snow fell all night, covering the whole world in a silvery white.

In the early morning, everything outside was covered in white snow. The treetops, rooftops, and paths were all covered with a thick layer of snow, making it feel like a pure fairy tale world.

As the first rays of sunlight streamed through the window into the house, Liu Feng and his family got up early to prepare to visit his maternal grandmother for the New Year.

Liu Changqing pushed the slightly worn bicycle, its frame laden with a large piece of hind leg meat and other gifts, making it look quite heavy.

He Qunfang was wearing a bright red woolen coat and a warm scarf, with a happy smile on her face.

The family walked along the road to the maternal grandmother's house, their feet crunching through the snow, making a pleasant sound.

The winding paths transformed into white ribbons, guiding them forward.

The air after the snow was exceptionally crisp and cold, chilling to the bone.

Liu Fei and Liu Yue excitedly ran and played in the snow, occasionally grabbing a handful of snow and throwing it at each other.

Unfazed by the early morning chill, Liu Feng watched them play with a smile.

To get to my maternal grandmother's house, we had to "cross mountains and valleys" along the way, but the terrain was mostly low hills and low mountains covered with dense pine trees.

Along the way, the low hills covered in snow looked as if they were wearing shimmering silver armor, and the pine branches were covered with crystal-clear icicles that sparkled in the light.

On the snow, a series of footprints left by small animals became the subject of discussion between Liu Yue and Liu Fei, who guessed what kind of small animals had left them.

Liu Feng walked enthusiastically in the middle, admiring the snow-covered scenery around him, and occasionally bending down to observe the various animal footprints left on the snow.

As a cultivator in the Qi Refining stage, his perception of the natural world is much more acute than that of ordinary people. He can even read the living habits and movement patterns of small animals from the slightest traces.

"Dad, Mom, why don't you rest on that hillside for a while? I'll go into the woods and see if I can catch a rabbit," Liu Feng suggested to his parents.

"Feng'er, don't bother trying to catch rabbits, they're hard to catch. Just follow us steadily!" Liu Changqing advised.

"Second Brother, are you going to catch rabbits? Take me with you!" Liu Fei excitedly interjected.

He was curious because he hadn't seen clearly how Liu Feng caught the pheasant last time, and he wanted to go and see it this time.

"Mom and Dad, don't worry, I'll just go in and take a look, I'll be right back."

Liu Feng comforted his parents, then turned to Liu Fei and said, "Youngest son, you shouldn't go. The snow in the forest is difficult to walk on, and you can't keep up with my speed."

Then, following a clear trail of rabbit footprints, he ventured deeper into the forest, where he could sense the faint life force contained within the footprints—a unique ability he possessed as a practitioner.

He carefully concealed his presence, searching silently through the snow without leaving a trace.

Before long, his gaze fell upon a rabbit foraging in the snow. The rabbit was hiding behind a pile of rocks, nibbling on tree roots and bark.

Seizing the opportunity, Liu Feng leaped forward, grabbed the rabbit by the ear, and lifted it up.

With this discovery, Liu Feng hurriedly returned to the mountain where his parents lived.

As he passed a field at the foot of the mountain, he noticed new activity.

Among a large pile of corn stubble at the edge of the field, he scanned it with his divine sense and discovered three pheasants gathered together, digging through the snow in search of food.

Liu Feng was overjoyed. He swung three snowballs with one hand at once, accurately hitting three pheasants. The pheasants were caught off guard and collapsed to the ground after being hit by the swift snowballs.

He walked over and easily picked them up.

"Feng'er, why haven't you come back yet? It's been more than ten minutes."

He Qunfang stood on the hillside, looking around in the direction Liu Feng had entered the forest, a hint of worry on her face.

"Mom, look!" Liu Fei exclaimed.

A person was seen walking towards them from a distance, carrying a grayish-brown rabbit in one hand and three brightly colored pheasants in the other.

Who else could it be but Liu Feng?

His appearance excited He Qunfang, who exclaimed, "Feng'er, how did you manage to catch so many things in such a short time? How did you do that?"

Liu Changqing was also speechless for a long time. Looking at the prey in his son's hand, he felt that his child could not be viewed with normal eyes. The ability and wonder that Liu Feng showed surprised him again and again.

Even experienced hunters, with their hunting dogs, cannot guarantee that they will catch this many wild animals in a single day.

It's nothing short of a miracle that Liu Feng was able to capture his prey so easily in such a short time.

"Second brother, you're amazing! I've decided to learn martial arts from you so I can catch rabbits and pheasants too!"

Liu Fei looked excitedly at the prey in Liu Feng's hand and hurriedly stepped forward to take the big gray rabbit. But when the rabbit was in his hands, it started to wriggle. It weighed four or five pounds and he could barely hold it.

"Little one, let me take it!" Liu Yue happily took the big white and gray rabbit from Liu Fei's hands. She liked it very much, grabbed its pair of fluffy long ears, and slowly hugged it in her arms.

"Be careful!" He Qunfang kept reminding Liu Yue, afraid that Liu Yue would lose her grip and let the big fat rabbit run away.

The family continued on their way, and amidst laughter and joy, time seemed to fly by.

Before they knew it, they had crossed a familiar field and could see their grandmother's yard in the distance.
