Chapter 71 Yo-ah yo-ah yo

Amidst the captivated and dreamlike gazes of the audience, Leslie Cheung and Anita Mui gracefully stepped off the stage.

The departing figure shone with starlight, and many people in the audience were still eager for more, shouting "One more song!" in waves.

The older brother had a smile on his lips as his gaze swept through the crowd, finally settling on Liu Feng. He called out loudly, "Groom, you sang well!"

This shout drew everyone's attention to Liu Feng.

Standing to the side, Lin Xia immediately understood, her face beaming with smiles. She pushed Liu Feng and Yu Jingya toward the stage, saying, "Hurry up and go up there, add some more fun for everyone. Today is your big day, how can you not sing a few lines?"

Yu Jingya looked troubled, hesitated a bit, and whispered to Lin Xia, "Sister Lin, I can't sing."

Lin Xia gently patted her shoulder and comforted her, "Don't be afraid, just hum along a few lines and join in the fun. The most important thing is that everyone is happy."

Liu Feng sensed Yu Jingya's nervousness, so he gripped her hand, took her hand, and led her step by step onto the stage.

After stopping, he gazed at Yu Jingya with tender eyes, and then began to sing: "In the first month of the lunar year, my sister and I watch the lanterns; in the second month, we bask in the spring breeze, my sister and I pledge our lives to each other..."

His voice is gentle and warm, filled with deep affection. The scenes depicted in the lyrics seem to be a microcosm of their journey together.

Yu Jingya's cheeks flushed, and she held Liu Feng's hand tightly, her gaze lingering on him as if she wanted to imprint his handsome profile deep in her heart. Her beautiful eyes were filled with tears, brimming with emotion and love.

When Liu Feng sang, "My sister is still waiting for her lover, watching the snow fill the window, a chilly winter is upon us," the deeply affectionate ending seemed to touch a chord deep within her heart. Yu Jingya could no longer suppress her emotions, and tears instantly welled up in her eyes. She threw herself into Liu Feng's arms, sobbing uncontrollably.

The cries were interwoven with the helplessness and heartache of the past five years of bitter waiting.

He Qunfang sat in the audience, watching her son make his daughter-in-law cry with his singing. She felt both sorry for her and amused. She quickly stood up, put her hands on her hips, and loudly ordered Liu Feng: "Quickly, sing another one and make our bride happy."

Upon hearing her mother-in-law's words, Yu Jingya raised her tear-streaked face and sobbed, "It's alright, I'm happy." Her appearance was pitiful, like a pear blossom in the rain.

Liu Feng tenderly wiped away Yu Jingya's tears, his mind racing as he recalled how Yu Jingya had smiled so brightly earlier that day when everyone sang "The Big Sedan Chair," her eyes crinkling into crescent moons—a truly captivating sight.

So he cleared his throat and sang again: "In spring, all the flowers are fresh, my sister and I hold hands, I laugh out loud, my heart is filled with joy, my sister doesn't say anything but looks at me and smiles, I know she is waiting for my bridal sedan chair."

The cheerful melody and playful lyrics instantly dispelled the sadness in Yu Jingya's heart.

As she listened, the corners of her mouth unconsciously turned up, and her eyes regained their sparkle. Before long, she stopped crying and started laughing, and like a happy little deer, she lightly circled around Liu Feng.

When Liu Feng sang the last line, "Give that one a hug, hug that one, I'm laughing so hard I'm bent over; give that one a hug, hug that one, I'm carrying my sister to the bridal sedan chair," he bent down and gently picked up Yu Jingya, giving her a romantic princess carry.

Amidst applause and cheers, he carried her step by step off the stage. At that moment, a sweet atmosphere filled the air, making all the guests smile.
