Liu Feng's lips curled up slightly, revealing a faint smile.
He spoke calmly and unhurriedly: "The prospects for new drugs are certainly broad. But before that, we need to solve a small problem. Just yesterday, the experts at Changsheng Pharmaceutical Factory encountered a sudden 'accident,' which I think most of you have heard about to some extent."
At this point, Liu Feng's eyes suddenly turned cold and sharp, like a tangible blade, sweeping over every guest present with a chilling aura.
In an instant, several people who looked flustered seemed to be burned by his gaze and subconsciously avoided meeting his eyes. How could these extremely subtle actions escape Liu Feng's eyes?
Overstan's expression changed, but this subtle change was fleeting. The next second, he quickly regained his composure, his face filled with feigned surprise, and said in fluent English with a distinctive accent, "Is this true? This is absolutely outrageous and appalling! You can rest assured on my island that your safety is absolutely guaranteed."
As he spoke, he gestured for the servants to come forward and serve tea and water to the guests, trying to ease the suddenly tense atmosphere.
At the same time, he subtly gave his bodyguards a look, signaling them to be on high alert in case of any unforeseen circumstances.
Liu Feng stood up, his robes fluttering slightly. His voice, booming like a bell, echoed in the luxurious reception room: "I've come here for no other reason than to establish a rule for everyone: 'Those who offend me shall die!'"
Upon hearing this, the air temperature in the entire reception room plummeted, the previously murmured discussions ceased abruptly, and the guests exchanged bewildered glances with varying expressions.
Some stared wide-eyed, while others secretly rejoiced that they hadn't gotten involved. Still others wore a playful smile, adopting a "not my problem" attitude and waiting to see Liu Feng and the others make fools of themselves.
Overstan's blue eyes narrowed slightly; clearly, he too was taken aback by Liu Feng's sudden, undisguised, and sharp-edged attitude.
However, he was a man who had weathered many storms, and before he had gained control of the Changsheng Pharmaceutical Factory, he did not want to easily break off relations and completely fall out with Liu Feng.
So he quickly reverted to his usual warm and friendly demeanor, forcing a dry smile as he said, "Mr. Liu, you're exaggerating. On my island, we're all friends. If there's any misunderstanding, we can sit down and talk it over calmly."
However, the glint of malice in his eyes betrayed the anger in his heart.
The gambling king also stood up, stepped closer to Liu Feng, and said in a low voice in Chinese, "Brother Liu, don't be impulsive. After all, we are still on their territory. Even a powerful dragon can't suppress a local snake."
He knew perfectly well that Liu Feng's strength was extraordinary, but the island was a mixed bag, with various forces deeply intertwined. If a fight were to break out, it was hard to predict who would emerge victorious. Moreover, they had not yet figured out all of the enemy's hidden cards, so acting rashly would be unwise.
Liu Feng turned his head and gave the gambling king a reassuring look, assuring him not to worry. Then, he swept his gaze across the crowd again and sneered, "Take it easy? I don't think some people have the patience for that. Yesterday's meticulously planned car accident, which nearly killed my factory's experts, is the mastermind behind it too cowardly to admit their actions?"
His gaze grew increasingly sharp, like two swords piercing straight at everyone with ulterior motives, making them afraid to meet his eyes.
