Chapter 125 We've Arrived

Under the moonlight, the forest at night seems to be shrouded in a layer of silver gauze, quiet and mysterious.

The moonlight gently shines through the gaps between the lush branches and leaves, forming patches of light on the winding forest path.

From time to time, the sound of leaves rustling in the breeze and the roar of animals in the distance could be heard in the forest, and apart from that, there was only the sound of shallow breathing.

Along the way, the orcs followed Holly in front of them and traveled quietly. Holly also tried his best to choose a relatively flat and easy road to travel, and everything went smoothly all the way.

The quiet night allowed the sleepy little orcs to gradually fall asleep in this atmosphere, with sweet smiles on their little faces before going to sleep.

At the front of the team, Lingling didn't feel sleepy at all when she saw the grandparents again after not seeing them for a long time. She was held on the left and right by Ashley and Blue, with excitement shining in her eyes. She looked left and right, front and back with her bright eyes.

The little guy's eyes rolled around as he looked around curiously at his grandparents and the environment, as if he was curious about this novel scene.

Ashley was amused but also worried when she saw Lingling walking like this. She was afraid that Lingling might accidentally fall, so she quietly reminded her, "Lingling, baby, walk carefully. We'll watch over you when we get home, okay?"

Hearing the care and worry in his grandmother's words, the little boy shrank his neck, looked at Ashley with a guilty look, raised his little face and smiled at her with a soft smile, and responded softly: "Okay~"

"Lingling is so good."

Ashley touched the little one's head and didn't continue to scold her. She just paid more attention to clearing obstacles on the ground for the little one when walking.

After about twenty minutes, the large group of people walking finally reached the lake.

The moonlight sprinkled on the lake, a silvery white.

A breeze blew by, bringing a touch of coolness to everyone on this somewhat sultry summer night.

When Damon heard Holly say that they had arrived, he looked around with the help of his crutches and was very satisfied with the environment.

Just as Lingling said, there was a large flat grassland nearby, so they didn't have to bother to open up much land.

The layers of giant trees outside act like a natural barrier, giving people a sense of security.

Damon first walked towards Tiger and Tyke and happily instructed, "Tell the tribesmen that we have arrived. Tell them to go find the Elf King and the Mermaid King to get their things. Then start setting up the tents, clean up, and go to bed early."

Then he walked towards Lingling excitedly. Seeing that she was still happily holding the hands of her tree-man grandparents, he didn't offer his hand. Instead, he squatted down in front of Lingling, looked the little girl seriously into her eyes, and thanked her again solemnly:

"Lingling, Grandpa thanks you again on behalf of the Orcs. Thank you so much."

When the little girl heard Grandpa Damon thank her so solemnly, she twisted her body and shyly accepted the thanks: "Grandpa, you don't have to thank Lingling~ Hehe, Lingling also wants to see everyone more often."

Several adults looked at the kind little girl with doting eyes. Blue even picked Lingling up and said jokingly, "Why don't you thank me? You're the one who advocated for their move! Tell me, little one like you, you're not that old, how come you have so many strange ideas?"

Lingling was suddenly picked up by Blue, but she was not afraid. She held Blue's branch skillfully, kicked her little feet, and smiled happily.

Suddenly, a familiar voice came from the front.

“Lingling!”

It was the Elf King Thor and the Merman King Triton who came over after helping the orcs put down their things. Following them was Huhu, who had run to the back of the team to go on an adventure at some point.

Blue was a little slow to react when he suddenly saw two men with such outstanding looks. However, Ashley, who had met the Elf King, spoke.

"Elf King?! Why are you here too?"

"Me? I'm taking Lingling home."

"Do you know Lingling?" Ashley was still confused.

Thor was also a little puzzled when he heard this. He first smiled politely at Ashley and the others, then walked up to Blue, poked Lingling's soft and tender little face and asked, "Lingling, didn't you tell your grandparents about your experience in the Western Continent?"

Lingling's little body stiffened, and she retracted her little hand, which she had just extended excitedly to see Thor, behind her back. She tried to pretend she didn't hear anything and turned around to play with the pink bunny lamp still hanging on Blue.

Thor immediately saw through the little girl's poor acting skills, grabbed her hand, looked into her bright eyes like black grapes, and asked again, "Lingling? Didn't you tell me you were going to the elves when you came home last time?"

Ashley came over and tried to help the little girl out: "Elf King, Lingling did mention going to the elves, but she might have forgotten to tell us the details. It's okay. It's not too late for us to know each other now."

Thor glanced at the guilty little girl, shook his head at Ashley, and said, "She probably didn't tell you too much about the Western Continent because she was afraid you would keep talking about how she almost got lost."

Almost got lost!!

Several treeman elders immediately looked at Lingling. Damon, who knew Lingling had been to the Western Continent, also looked over with some curiosity.

Lingling saw that her grandparents were staring at her. She was nervous and puffed up her little face at Thor angrily.

Thor's eyes met the little dumpling's eyes in the air.

Sizzle~

Lingling: Uncle, how could you betray Lingling!

Thor: Who told me I was unknown and without any status? You didn’t even introduce me to your grandparents.

Lingling: Uncle, you might as well not tell me about getting lost.

Thor: Good kids don't lie.

Lingling: ...

Their eyes met, Lingling was defeated.

The little girl looked away dejectedly, and looked at her grandparents who were still looking at her with concern. After thinking for a while, she confessed:

"It's just... Lingling was visiting the market in the Western Continent. She didn't even say hello to Grandma Irene and ran off to look for her elf brother Josiah... and she accidentally got separated from Grandma Irene and the others at the market entrance. That's... that's how it happened."

Lingling twisted her little fingers and obediently told everyone about the mistakes she had made.

She lowered her little head and was a little afraid to meet the gaze of her grandparents, for fear of being scolded.

Unexpectedly, Ashley gently lifted Lingling's little head, looked into her eyes seriously and asked, "Did Lingling realize that she was wrong after running around?"

Lingling nodded so hard that her little head almost fell off.

"I know, I know. Lingling was so scared that she cried. I won't run around anymore."

Ashley patted Lingling's head gently. "That's right, Lingling. You know you were wrong. Just don't do it again. Grandpa and grandma won't scold you. Don't hide your mistakes from us in the future."

Lingling: "Yeah! Lingling knows!"

Looking at the well-behaved appearance of the little guy, Thor and the others smiled at each other.

Children need to be pampered, but they also need to be taught well.
