Chapter 133: Races from Thousands of Years Ago

There was a low pressure in the tent.

Bai Jiu's voice was somewhat cold, and he said lightly: "I'm not trying to discourage you, but you are in the state you are in now, and I really don't feel safe telling you what will happen next."

Thor raised his eyes, his beautiful peach blossom eyes devoid of smile. He tried to use a calm voice to ask, "What do you mean by that? And how do we know if what you said is true or not?"

Bai Jiu was not in the least bit intimidated by Thor's questioning and answered frankly, "This concerns Lingling's future life. If I tell a lie, I will die a miserable death."

Bai Jiu thought about it and stood up to give himself a bit more momentum. The little rabbit doll's red eyes looked at the tent curtain without focus, and continued in a steady voice:

"I can do things you can't, and I can uncover truths you can't. I've been with Lingling since she came into this world, caring for her and raising her. My love for Lingling can be said to surpass all of yours. So, when it comes to matters concerning Lingling, I hope you won't waste your time questioning me."

Triton didn't think as much as Thor did, and asked directly: "Then go on and tell me everything you know."

Bai Jiu looked at Tryton, then at the others. Seeing that no one said anything, and that he seemed to have calmed down, he began to talk again about the news he had accidentally learned while being confined by the main system.

"A few days ago, my 'elder' came to me and told me that he had discovered that among the existing races in your world there were actually undead races that had been extinct for thousands of years."

"Undead!" Everyone was so shocked that they didn't have time to think about the "this world" that Bai Jiu mentioned.

Then I heard Bai Jiu continue to speak with self-blame:

"I'm not afraid of you knowing that it was actually me who facilitated Lingling's arrival on this continent."

"I originally thought your place was relatively peaceful and safe, and would be a perfect place for Lingling to grow up. However, I didn't expect it to harbor such a huge hidden danger. It was probably because your investigation into the demonic energy alerted my 'elder' that he used his abilities to investigate and discovered something was amiss."

"I know you've always suspected that the humans were the perpetrators, but you've truly wronged them this time. They can be considered victims."

"Actually, you also discovered human remains among those skeletons, but in your opinion, this could also be the result of unscrupulous humans killing their own kind."

"But in fact, it's not. The real culprit behind this is the Undead. Whether it's the formation discovered by the Elf King or the demonic energy remaining on the bones, they are all the Undead's methods."

"The Undead are a race that survives in the form of skeletons. Thousands of years ago, they wreaked havoc across the continent and were strangled by the combined might of various races."

"Because of their immortal racial traits, fearing they would make a comeback, the powerful warriors of each race paid the price of blood and drained their magic power. After being purified by the elves' purification magic, the powerful warriors also broke their bones apart and scattered them to different places to suppress them with formations."

"That's how your continent came to be relatively peaceful. However, what you and I have discovered proves that the undead must have held back a trick. Somehow, they managed to 'survive' after all."

After hearing what Bai Jiu said, Thor was the first to question it: "That's impossible. Twenty years ago, in order to heal those infected by the demonic energy, I traveled to all races, but I never saw the undead in the form of skeletons, not even in rumors."

Bai Jiu turned to look at Thor and said with some distress, "This is the second thing I want to say. The reason why the undead are immortal is because their filthy souls are indestructible. The skeleton is just their carrier. In other words, they can be reborn by finding a new carrier."

“That’s the most difficult thing right now.”

Bai Jiu paused for a moment, then said word by word, "The undead may have mixed in with the human race, and there are new faces."

When he finished speaking, you could hear a pin drop in the tent.

Damon asked in a somewhat dry voice, "Why did only the human race get infiltrated? Are the rest of us okay?"

"It's okay, because the predecessor of the undead is the human race. If they want to be reborn after death, they can only do so through the human race."

Damon exhaled heavily, fearing that the undead had infiltrated his own tribe.

Bai Jiu looked at the others who remained silent and continued, "The skeleton issue you haven't been clear about is that the undead can manipulate bones. Therefore, as long as your people leave behind remains when they die, including magical beasts, they can be used after being transformed into bones."

Several elders of the Tree People suddenly understood why only their people were killed - because otherwise there would be no bones for them to control.

Brook suppressed his inner rage, walked up to Bai Jiu and asked, "So, you already know about the existence of the undead. Why can't you tell us where they are? Wouldn't that make things easier?"

Bai Jiu looked at Blue and said helplessly, "We are not omniscient and omnipotent gods. The reason we know about the existence of the undead is because the Mermaid King and others discovered the demonic energy and formations. We only know this by comparing previous information."

It was also because Lingling was his host that he could report the matter on the grounds of endangering the host's life and thus obtain help from the main system. If it were someone else who was not involved, there was no telling when the truth would be discovered.

"What is the purpose? Why do they create evil energy?" Thor suddenly asked.

Bai Jiu was stunned for a moment, then answered hesitantly, "Maybe it's to strengthen the undead race. Those who have lost their minds are, to a certain extent, no different from the lowest level of undead."

Thor secretly clenched his fists, his eyes filled with murderous intent.

Undead!

"So, based on what you just said, the complete annihilation of the Undead and the Elves will be the main force?"

"Yes, but thousands of years ago, your elven ancestors must have chosen to teach other races basic purification magic. It may not be as powerful as the elves' own purification magic, but it should still be able to provide support."

Hearing this, Thor stopped talking and lowered his head in thought.

Seeing that even someone as confident as Thor now felt that the situation was difficult, Triton couldn't help but look at Bai Jiu: "Is there anything we mermaids can do?"

"And us!" the others said.

Bai Jiu looked around, seeing their expressions full of fighting spirit, nodded his head with satisfaction, and encouraged:

"Of course you can help. Since the Undead suffered great damage thousands of years ago and chose to blend into the human race instead of reappearing as skeletons, their defenses are naturally not much different from those of ordinary humans. As long as we can find them, defeat them, and use the Elf King's purification magic, we can completely eliminate them."

"However, there's been no news from the Undead yet. I'm worried that the resurrected Undead are of a higher level. They can imitate and hide themselves, making it difficult for you to find them among the many humans."

"Don't be afraid! Lingling is here to help!"

A gurgling sound coming from the door was like thunder, startling Bai Jiu so much that he sat down on the table.

“Lingling??!!”
