Chapter 157 Next Steps

Five minutes later, Lingling passed by and fed the fish.

"Huh?"

Little Lingling stared blankly at the last piece of rabbit meat left on the plate, then raised her little head to look at everyone.

Look again, lift again, look again, lift again...

“Eh——?”

Everyone who was trying to hold back their laughter spread their hands, indicating that they didn't take anything, as Lingling had divided it herself.

"Rou Rou?" The little baby voice was still a little confused.

But the next second, everyone saw Lingling pick up the last piece of rabbit meat with a small fork and open her little mouth in a ferocious manner.

"Awooo~"

Lingling gobbled up the last piece of rabbit meat in one gulp.

The little dumpling licked his lips with a hint of aftertaste, obviously not having eaten enough, but he was sensible enough not to cry.

She ran over to Amy, handed her the plate and fork back, and thanked her sweetly, "Sister Crab, it's delicious! Lingling is full now!"

Amy took the plate and saw that Lingling was still unsatisfied. She wanted to say something, but Damon, who felt sorry for the little dumpling, spoke first.

He stepped forward, took Lingling's hand, and waved his big hand:

"Let's go! Grandpa will grill some more for Lingling! She'll be full!"

......

Ten minutes later.

A barbecue grill was set up by the lake. Triton used water magic to catch big fish, slaughtered them directly, and sent them to Tiger and Tek who were in charge of grilling at the fire.

Several round wooden tables were placed not far away, on which were placed some freshly baked wheat-scented cakes, freshly squeezed sweet juice, and freshly grilled meat and fish.

The little dumpling, who had just insisted that he was full, was leaning on the edge of the wooden table, trying to stand on tiptoe, staring at the food on the table with eager eyes and great desire, without blinking.

Not only her, but other little orcs and tree people were also jealous. Those who could get to the table would lean on the edge of the table, and those who couldn't would try their best to pile up high, wanting to take a look at the food on the table.

The cubs of the two tribes were craving different things. The little beastmen were craving roasted rabbits, while the little treemen were craving fruit juice with spiritual liquid added.

So, when the adults who were busy preparing food turned around, they saw the table was "full" of little puppies.

The noble Elf King Thor, who is usually served, is learning barbecue skills next to Tiger Tek.

He was just about to take the grilled fish over when he turned around and saw the little girl looking anxiously at him.

He couldn't help but walk over and rub the little ball's furry head, chuckling and saying, "Lingling, if you want to eat, just eat first. Why are you staring at the table like that?"

Hearing Thor's words, Lingling, who was still leaning on the edge of the table, swallowed her saliva and wiped the corners of her mouth with her little hands. Without even turning her head, she explained, "No, no, uncle, you guys haven't eaten yet. We can't be naughty."

Thor raised an eyebrow, said nothing, and directly picked up a piece of barbecue with a fork and put it into his mouth.

He watched the little ones follow his fork with their eyes and reminded them jokingly, "Mmm~ It's delicious~ Now you can eat it!"

The others also noticed the greedy look of the little ones, and came over one after another. In front of the little ones, they took a small piece, and then turned around and busied themselves preparing food.

After all, there are too many people, and the food on the table is not enough.

The little ones were a little confused when they saw the adults quickly eat a piece and walk away.

But a few seconds later.

"Ah~ Thank you uncle~"

Lingling ran over and hugged Thor's thigh, then immediately ran back to grab food.

The group of little cubs seemed to be afraid that the delicious food would be eaten up in a few bites, so they stuffed their mouths with food and even took some more in their hands.

It was even more amazing when it flew to the table, picked up a large piece of barbecue, and flew back to the tree to enjoy it alone.

Only Lingling, after stuffing her mouth with a big mouthful, took a small fork, put the food on it, and ran to the familiar people with her short legs, feeding one person and another a bite.

For a moment, the lakeside was filled with laughter.

......

Half an hour later.

The little ones went to play hide-and-seek nearby, and Lingling's parents either stood or sat at a table and began to discuss things.

Thor sat upright and spoke first, "Thank you for your people's hard work over the past three months."

"Fortunately, we finally got good news - after these long months of investigation, no new undead magic circles have been discovered."

"This also proves that the power and speed of the Undead's development are not as terrifying as we imagined."

Aram nodded, somewhat relieved:

"Yes, after such a thorough search, we haven't found any new magic circles. This is indeed a good thing for us. Now we can focus on the palace and gather the strength of our various tribes. I don't believe we can't deal with the remaining undead."

Damon was drinking a glass of water in his hand. After listening to what the two said, he let out a long sigh and said:

"Yes, it's extremely good news that no new members of the tribe have been found to be victims. The situation is finally under control."

Thor knocked on the table and looked at Josiah, motioning him to speak.

A few months passed, and with Lingling's constant company, Josiah had changed a lot. He looked radiant, like a cheerful big boy.

But when he received Thor's gaze, his temperament became steady.

He looked at the elders of various tribes who were much older than him, and calmly told them what he had discovered when he led his tribesmen to follow the situation:

"During this period, our surveillance has further confirmed everyone's suspicions. The undead should be in the Norton family and the palace."

"The Norton family has a large private estate with numerous guards, but we've never seen anyone deliver food in there. It seems the people inside can live without food or water."

"So, we reasonably suspect that those inside are skeleton soldiers trained by the undead, the lowest level puppets recorded in ancient books, with only murderous intentions."

"Then there's the huge menagerie in the palace that's never been open to the public. It's always been claimed that it houses the emperor's favorite rare and exotic animals."

"But our stalkers never heard any beast roars. We suspect there's some connection between that private estate and the menagerie, perhaps even similar functions."

After a long speech, Josiah took the cup of water from Thor, took a sip, and concluded:

"These are our findings for now. We dare not enter the palace rashly. To further uncover the truth, we may need to come up with other methods."

Thor looked at his finally grown-up child with a gentle gaze, not letting him feel awkward, and continued:

"Xiao Ya has already told me about these discoveries, and I've also come up with a solution. Now I'd like to ask for everyone's opinions."

Everyone looked over and waited quietly for Thor to speak.

Thor cleared his throat and said solemnly:

"I plan to take Lingling with Triton to visit the nobles or the emperor of the Loran Empire, using the excuse of selling orc slaves."
