In the stillness of the night,
At the door of the Elf King's room.
It took Josiah about ten minutes to recount his encounter with Lingling from beginning to end.
After listening to this, Thor did not respond immediately. Instead, he frowned slightly and thought quietly for a while.
Josiah waited anxiously, and from time to time habitually used his long black hair to cover his face, but after being glanced at by Thor, he stopped.
"Father, although I believe that what a two or three-year-old kid said and this behavior is a bit ridiculous, I really have a hunch that what Lingling said is true. Can you let her give it a try?"
Thor looked at Josiah's nervous face and suddenly chuckled.
"From childhood to adulthood, I have never satisfied what you wanted. Isn't it just to help you start the inheritance ceremony? Your father agrees."
Josiah smiled instantly, and even the ugly pattern became less ferocious.
Thor couldn't help but stretch out his slender fingers to touch Josiah's face. When his cool fingertips touched the patterns, Josiah couldn't help but turn his head away.
"Father!"
Thor did not continue, and said firmly: "Don't worry, Xiaoya, whether as the Elf King or your adoptive father, I will heal you."
He said this, then naturally withdrew his hand and turned to walk into the house.
"Tomorrow morning, bring the little one here. I'll perform the inheritance ceremony for her. But whether it will be successful or not will only be clear then."
Halfway through the walk, as if thinking of something, he turned around and raised his delicate chin towards Josiah.
"Your bed is for the little one. You can go to your room downstairs and rest. That room is always cleaned."
Without waiting for Josiah's reply, he lay down on his big bed and went to sleep.
Josiah looked at the Elf King who had fallen asleep, bowed slightly to him in gratitude, then gently closed the door and left.
"A little human girl." After the door closed, a soft sigh came from the room.
......
The next day, it was still dark and the morning mist covered the entire forest.
The faint light shines through the clouds, making the whole world look dreamy and peaceful.
Josiah, who had been resting all night on a chair in his house, took off the thin blanket covering himself, tidied himself up briefly, put on his cloak, and tiptoed to the bed.
"Lingling, Lingling, it's time to get up." Josiah called Lingling softly and gently.
Lingling turned around and unconsciously grabbed Huhu, burying her little face in Huhu's soft belly, trying to avoid the disturbing sound in the early morning.
Josiah found it funny and after thinking about it, he stopped shouting and picked up the little tiger, the blanket and the little tiger together in his arms.
After carefully adjusting the positions of the two little ones in his arms, Josiah walked out with some satisfaction.
As soon as he opened the door, the cold morning air hit him in the face, and Josiah thought to himself that something was wrong.
Sure enough, Lingling, whose face was covered with cold air, shuddered and opened her sleepy eyes in a daze.
"Hmm~?" A baby voice came out unconsciously.
Lingling wanted to reach out and rub her little face, but she found that her hands and feet were trapped. She turned around and saw a little tiger head sleeping soundly.
Lingling turned her little head with difficulty to look up, down, left and right, and finally regained consciousness.
Oh yes, she went home with her brother last night!
"Brother, is it dawn? Is Lingling going back?" Lingling asked uncertainly, tilting her head.
"No, I'm taking you to see the Elf King. Doesn't Lingling want to learn purification magic? I'll take you to learn from the Elf King right away. You can sleep for a while. I'll call you when we get there." Josiah replied softly.
"No need, Lingling has woken up. Brother is tired of holding Lingling." Lingling said in a sensible and baby voice.
"Brother, don't be tired. We'll be there soon." Josiah said, hugging Lingling even tighter.
"Okay, call me when brother arrives." Lingling, who was held by someone, snuggled back into the quilt comfortably and took a nap.
Although it was still dark, some elves in the elven territory had already gotten up and were going out in groups of three or four.
Seeing Josiah wearing a familiar cloak, he greeted him warmly.
"Josiah, are you back? How was the harvest yesterday?"
"Josiah, have you had breakfast? Come to my house and have some breakfast."
"Josiah, why did you come out with the quilt? What's under the quilt? It seems to be moving."
......
Along the way, the warm and friendly tribesmen wanted to chat with Josiah, but Josiah refused them all with the words "Sorry, I have something urgent to do with the Elf King. Let's talk later." He then quickly walked to the castle with Lingling in his arms.
"call--"
Josiah finally arrived at the castle gate, breathed a sigh of relief, greeted the guard, and walked straight in.
Arriving at the door of the Elf King's room, Josiah had to call out loudly, "Good morning, Elf King," because he was holding Lingling in his arms.
The door creaked open, accompanied by a small complaint.
"You called me the Elf King again, Xiaoya is not obedient at all."
Josiah pretended not to hear and walked in holding Lingling.
In the morning light, Thor had changed into a gorgeous white robe and was standing by the floor-to-ceiling window. The edge of the robe was inlaid with gold and there were faint cloud-like dark patterns on the robe.
He wore a golden crown inlaid with beautiful gems of various colors, looking extremely noble.
Lingling woke up on the road and saw the Elf King, and was instantly stunned by his beauty.
"Wow~~~ pretty big brother!"
Lingling couldn't help wanting to jump out of Josiah's arms.
