As daybreak approached, a light rain suddenly began to fall.
The rustling sound outside the tent woke up the little girl who was sleeping soundly.
"Hmm~hmm? Uncle?"
Lingling held the little rabbit doll, sat up shakily, and rubbed her eyes with her little hands.
"Uncle? White uncle?"
Seeing that the two uncles from the tree people were not there, Lingling decisively went to look for her Uncle Bai.
"Lingling, uncle is here. Your two tree uncles are outside to shelter you from the rain. You should sleep a little longer. It's still dawn."
Lingling regained some consciousness. Shelter from the rain?
"Why are the uncles trying to block the rain? Lingling isn't even wet."
The little guy knows it’s raining, and he quite likes the feeling of mist in the forest when it rains.
"They were afraid that the sound of the rain hitting the tent would be too loud and wake you up, so they transformed into tree-men and covered most of their bodies with the tent."
When Lingling heard this, she was heartbroken and no longer confused. She stumbled out with her little quilt wrapped around her.
Bai Jiu was unable to stop it.
"Hey, Lingling, wait! Wait!"
You'll catch a cold if you go out like this!
Fortunately, just when Lingling was about to rush out, a tall figure hugged Lingling and quickly stuffed Lingling back into the tent.
Lingling: What the hell? What happened?!
The person who followed in was the mermaid king Triton.
He packed up early, gave his two sons some instructions, and just as he was about to leave, it started to rain.
Mermaids are definitely not afraid of rain, and even enjoy it.
So he was a little puzzled when he saw the two treemen of the treeman tribe suddenly turned into big trees and covered the tent.
Just as I said I was coming over to ask, I heard footsteps in the tent, and from the noise I felt like running out.
He thought about the delicate little tree man last night and moved faster than he thought, pushing the unknown creature that rushed out back.
Before entering the tent, I seemed to hear the two tree people breathe a sigh of relief.
It seems that he was not the only one who heard it, but he was the fastest.
Sure enough, not long after entering the tent, the door opened again and two big wet heads stuck in.
“Lingling!”
“Lingling!”
The two silly uncles were drenched in rain and didn't come in. They just stretched their heads out and called Lingling.
Lingling, who was sitting on the small quilt, was a little confused when she saw how wet they were and how clean Triton looked.
"Uncles, is it raining outside? What's going on?" The little guy looked at Tryton with a puzzled look.
Triton raised an eyebrow and performed a water control trick on her on the spot.
In just a moment, the rain on Tag and Holly's heads and clothes gathered into a water ball and floated in front of Lingling.
Lingling poked it curiously, then looked up and smiled softly at Tryton.
"It's not scattered~ Uncle is so awesome."
Triton was dazzled by the baby's smile, looked at the little rabbit she had thrown aside in panic, and silently changed the water ball into the shape of a little rabbit.
As expected.
"Wow~ Uncle is awesome!"
The little guy clapped his hands excitedly, and the small blanket draped over his shoulders fell down a little.
Triton reached out and wrapped the little guy tightly in the quilt, then looked at Tag and Holly.
"You two..."
The two tree people still maintained their previous posture, looking over with confusion.
Triton was about to say the word "stupid" but he swallowed it back. He wanted to change it to "idiotic", but then he thought of the people who saved his daughter's life and swallowed it back again.
He waved feebly for them to come in.
Tag and Holly looked at each other, signaled to Tritton that they were wet from the rain, and decided not to go in.
Triton simply threw the little rabbit water ball in front of them without further explanation.
The two tree people understood this time, and they squeezed into the tent which had suddenly become narrow.
Tritton: ...What a mistake. He should have left first.
But the two tree men came in, so Triton had no choice but to gather the water on their bodies and the water that fell into the tent into water balls and throw them out.
Only then did he stuff Lingling from the quilt into Tag's arms.
"I'm leaving now. I'll leave my three children in the care of you two," Triton said politely.
Holly and Tag, who was holding the sweet and soft little baby, nodded solemnly.
"Don't worry, we will get them to the beach safely."
Triton was not very reassured.
After thinking for a moment, he took out a crystal ball and said to the two tree people, "This is a unique tool for us mermaids to transmit information. By using the vibrations of the special water inside the crystal ball, the holder of the other crystal ball can receive the information."
"Later, you can ask my three children to teach you how to use it. If you really can't learn it, you can ask them to pass on the information to me."
Holly reached out and took the crystal ball, which was as big as Lingling's head, and smiled brightly: "No problem, thank you, you can go back to your business."
After saying that, Triton looked at the little baby in Tag's arms, took out a pink pearl necklace from his space ring, and gently put it on Lingling's empty neck.
Hmm~ It’s much better now.
He looked at Lingling's messy hair again, tugged it twice to straighten her hair, then nodded slightly to the three of them, squeezed out of the tent with difficulty, and left.
Lingling's neck felt heavy under the weight of the large pearl necklace. She raised her head with difficulty and said in a baby voice to Triton, who had already quickly walked out of the tent, "Thank you, uncle~"
There was no sound outside, and it was not known whether Tritton heard it.
However, judging from the faint smile on Tritton's face as he left, he must have heard it.
......
After a while, daybreak came and the rain stopped.
The two tree people let Lingling turn into a sapling and play in the tent for a while while they went to clean up.
Then he went to help the two mermaid boys put Sophia on the carriage.
The crystal jar had been taken away by Triton. There was no way to put it in the carriage, so he had to put it back in his space ring.
The adults were busy and didn't notice Lingling walked out of the tent by herself, looking at this uncle and then at that brother.
The sapling deliberately swayed left and right as she walked, but still no one noticed her.
Now the little guy was excited. He jumped to the puddle, secretly glanced at the busy adults, and stretched out a small branch to test it out.
No one saw it.
Bai Jiu:...Baby, have you forgotten that I am still watching you!
Lingling, who had been doing bad things secretly, felt relieved and jumped into the puddle.
One, two, three, four...
In a short while, Lingling became a dirty little sapling.
Suddenly, a big bird flew in the sky, looked at the dirty unknown creature on the ground, became curious, flew over the ground quickly, and picked it up in its mouth.
Bai Jiu: Ahhhhhh!! Someone come quickly, Lingling has been taken away like a bug!!
