Chapter 57 Mermaid Sophia

The center of the Holy Lake in the East Continent.

A gentle breeze blew by, blowing away the surprise in Lingling's words.

Blue didn't want to mention the irrelevant fish now. He made his presence felt strongly. He gently pulled down Lingling's little claws with a thin branch and swayed it left and right.

"Alas - it's true that time has passed and the feelings have faded. Lingling, your focus is not on grandpa and grandma anymore." Blue began to act pitiful in a fake manner.

Ashley couldn't bear to see Blue like this. She wouldn't tolerate him, so she turned around and left with the soft little ball in her arms.

"Lingling, let's ignore your Grandpa Blue. He hasn't been exposed to enough sun these past few days, and his mind is a little confused."

Lingling nestled obediently in Ashley's arms, her big watery eyes filled with smiles, and she smiled secretly.

"Uncle Bai, grandpa and grandma are playing again! Lingling won't be fooled this time." The clever little Lingling secretly complained to Bai Jiu.

Bai Jiu looked at her lively little appearance and began to praise her.

"Lingling is so smart, she guessed it right this time too, awesome!"

Blue had acted like this before, with the purpose of snatching Lingling from other tree people. After Lingling was fooled a few times, she gradually saw through Blue's poor acting skills.

Sure enough, seeing Ashley turn around and leave, Blue quickly controlled his expression and followed closely, without even retracting his branches. He just followed behind and stared at Lingling in Ashley's arms.

Lingling's little hands also played with the branches in their hands that kept extending as they walked.

The other tree people looked at each other, and when they saw that the elders and Lingling had left, they quietly took their things and Lingling's cart and followed them back to the territory.

Poor little tree people, they were taken away by the elders not long after my sister came back.

This side, in Ashley's arms.

Lingling played for less than two minutes before she couldn't hold back her curiosity. She tilted her fair and tender face up and asked Ashley.

"Grandma Ashley, where is Miss Mermaid? Did anything happen to you?"

Ashley paused and looked down at the little guy.

"Baby, are you particularly curious?"

Lingling's little hands unconsciously tugged at the blue branches in her hands, as if she was recalling something, and her little eyes were a little wandering.

"Lingling met a mermaid uncle in the Western Continent. He had a little mermaid baby."

"But Lingling didn't get to see the tails of either the mermaid uncle or the little mermaid. The uncle didn't turn into a fish, and the baby was wrapped up in the blanket right after it was born. What a pity~"

Ashley understood, it turned out that there was a regret.

"Hearing what you said, you have quite a lot of experience in the Western Continent."

Ashley smiled and nodded her little nose.

Lingling let go of Blue's branch guiltily, and covered her face with both hands to hide her expression.

"I can't let grandpa and grandma know that Lingling is missing~" Lingling reminded herself.

Ashley didn't know why Lingling suddenly covered her face. She thought she had tickled her nose, so she didn't think much of it and continued, "The mermaid lady isn't in the territory right now. You just came back. Go eat something first. Grandma will take you to see her later."

Lingling showed her little face, let out a surprised "wow", and motioned for Ashley to put her down and walk by herself.

She wanted to rush back to eat and then go see Yuyu after dinner.

......

After dinner.

After reuniting with the tree man grandparents, uncles and aunts whom she hadn’t seen for a long time, Lingling had a delicious meal and was eager to go see the little mermaid sister.

On the way out of the territory, Ashley and Blue, holding the jumping little one on each side, joked, "Are you so happy?"

"I'm so happy~!"

Lingling retracted her short legs and hung herself in the air between the two elders like a swing, fully expressing her happiness with her actions.

Ashley and Blue worked together to rock the little guy, which in turn produced a silver bell-like laugh.

They laughed and talked all the way until they arrived at a lake outside the treeman territory.

The lake was very large, at least based on Lingling's height, she couldn't see the end of it for the time being.

The lake water is blue, like a sapphire, reflecting the surrounding mountains and trees. A breeze blows here, causing ripples on the lake water, and then returns to calm in an instant.

Lingling, holding the two elders' hands, stood by the lake. She cautiously leaned forward and raised her little head in confusion.

"Grandpa and grandma, where is the mermaid sister?"

The two old tree people tacitly pulled Lingling back a little, not letting the little guy get close to the lake. The lake was several hundred meters deep, and it would be terrible if she fell in.

"The little sister might be playing at the bottom of the lake. Why don't you call her? Her name is Sophia."

"Sophia?" Lingling whispered softly.

"Sister, your name is nice~ Lingling called it, cough cough." The little guy cleared his throat and got ready.

"Sister Sophia~~" Lingling's baby voice came out with amazing energy.

The two old tree people were startled by Lingling's baby voice, not to mention Sophia at the bottom of the lake.

The air was eerily quiet for a while.

Lingling scratched her little head and asked her grandparents in confusion.

"Grandpa and grandma, is Lingling screaming too softly?"

Ashley and Blue swung their large crowns in unison.

"No, no, baby, let's wait a little longer. Maybe the young lady will need some time to come over."

Lingling was puzzled and bewildered, but there was nothing she could do.

Wait and wait and wait...

An unknown amount of time passed, so long that Lingling sat down by the lake. Suddenly, with a splash, a graceful blue-tailed mermaid broke out of the water.

The one who came was the mermaid Sophia.

She leaped out of the lake lightly, her tail agile and graceful, covered with smooth blue scales that shone like gems, and her long blue hair was as soft as seaweed, spreading slightly in the air as she leaped.

Lingling, who had never seen much of the world, stared at her blankly until Sophia swam gently across the lake towards her, and then Lingling came to her senses.

The girl lowered her head slightly and looked at Lingling, her face full of curiosity.

She is not very old, but you can vaguely see her beauty when she grows up.

The small face, which is the size of a palm, has a pretty face, beautiful golden eyes, and skin like crystal clear pearls, white and delicate, exuding a faint fragrance of sea water.

She was wearing simple clothes made of shells, without any other accessories. Her long blue hair was half draped over her chest and half draped behind her back. She just looked at Lingling quietly.

When Lingling saw the beautiful sister, she felt like drooling. She wiped her mouth with her little hands in panic, then stood up suddenly and took two steps back.

The little fellow's face flushed red, and he stretched out his little hand and said, "Sister, hello, I'm Lingling!"

Sophia looked at the little hand stretched out in front of her, then looked at the two old tree men standing behind the little baby in a protective posture, and shook it without hesitation.

"Hello~cute."

The sound is like the collision of jade, clear and pleasant.
