The engine used in Lingfeng is not one of the two diesel engines originally available in Nanwan, nor is it even a modified version of them.
This is a brand new four-cylinder inline diesel engine, and the people over at South Bay Motors gave it a very expansive name: Tsunami!
That means its momentum is as unstoppable as a tsunami.
Originally, this engine was designed for light trucks.
Wen Guanghua had planned to build light trucks and mini trucks as early as three years ago, but he was not satisfied with the two 480 and 485 engines produced by Nanwan Motors.
Although the performance has been improved to the limit, the fuel consumption and horsepower still make him feel that he cannot build the light truck he has in mind.
After obtaining the group's approval, the development of this engine began two years ago.
After more than two years of research and development, the engine was successfully developed last summer.
This engine uses the fuel high-pressure common rail direct injection system technology developed on large diesel engines for the first time.
This is not the biggest highlight of this engine. The biggest highlight is that these guys actually came up with a variable-section turbocharger when improving the turbocharger.
It is different from the traditional blow-off valve turbocharger. It uses variable cross-section technology, which ensures that the engine can obtain sufficient intake energy brought to it by the supercharger at high and low speeds, making the engine's power output smoother.
The maximum power is 150 horsepower, and the torque is as high as 300 Nm. It is no exaggeration to say that it is a tsunami.
This engine helped the team win the first-class science and technology award last year.
After testing the performance, Wen Guanghua recommended this engine to Microcar.
In fact, when the SUV was designed, there was no plan to launch a diesel version. Wan Feng planned to wait for two years when diesel engine technology had made further progress before launching the diesel version.
But now that the diesel engine has met the standards, this diesel version has been put on the plan and will be released before the gasoline engine.
The Lingfeng is equipped with a tsunami engine, a six-speed manual transmission, and comes in two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive designs. These two diesel versions are one with two-wheel drive and one with four-wheel drive.
The exterior features a chrome grille, xenon headlights, and combination taillights. The imposing front end and sturdy C-pillar create a striking visual impact whether viewed from the front, rear, or side. The heavy body, broad and powerful front end, and low-key and steady lines create a sense of fashion.

The gasoline version of the Lingfeng is the same as the diesel version except for the engine.
Its engine is the NW479T engine, which uses a turbocharger to increase horsepower. The horsepower is as high as 170, but the torque is not as large as the diesel version, at only 285 Nm.
Guan Dahai's evaluation of the gasoline version of Lingfeng is not as high as that of the diesel version. Although the gasoline version of Lingfeng has an advantage in terms of sound, he always feels that the power is not as good as the diesel version when driving.
If you haven't driven the diesel version of the Lingfeng, you won't have any feeling about it, but for the test team that has been fiddling with the diesel Lingfeng in the past few days, the gasoline Lingfeng just doesn't work.
