In the eyes of the buffalo leader, its kin, now killed by the tiger, were perhaps luckier than them; at least, its arduous journey had come to an end.
The other animals were naturally frightened by the sudden appearance of the tiger mother and cub. Small animals like rabbits hurriedly hid under other animals, trying to conceal themselves.
Despite the panic and fear, not a single animal ran away.
They probably knew in their hearts that the mother tiger and her cubs had already obtained their prey and would not hunt again; at least, they were safe until the tigers went hungry again.
If the mother tiger and her cubs don't leave, who they will hunt next time they are hungry is beyond their control.
Whether it's a collective migration of all species or a tacit acceptance of the presence of predators, it's simply their only option for survival.
Whether they freeze to death in the snow or perish under the claws of beasts, their final fate is usually to become food in the mouths of predators, it's just a matter of sooner or later.
In the face of tremendous global changes, natural selection and survival of the fittest apply, and no living being is exempt.
The tiger mother tore into the beef, eating heartily, oblivious to the migrating herd of beasts before her; she had been starving for a long time.
But when she saw a splash of bright red in her eyes, the tiger mother froze. She looked at the prey as usual, and then at the hot and unfamiliar blood, and was dumbfounded.
Why has the color of the blood changed...? Is it a change in the prey?
Looking at the bison's thick fur, the tiger mother tried to attribute this change to a mutation in the prey itself, but her quick thinking told her that it wasn't.
Tiger Mom looked at the bright red cow blood staining the snow. She carefully sniffed the blood and found it to be no different from usual, except for a slightly faint fragrance. The smell was just like the delicious meat she had eaten before.
Although puzzled, Tiger Mom knew that this change must have come from within herself, but after carefully examining her own body, she found nothing unusual.
The bewildered tiger mother stopped thinking about it; what she needed to do now was eat to replenish her energy. Since the prey was alright, she could continue eating.
Courage remained unchanged; the little tiger buried its head in its food, its little ears flapping incessantly as it ate.
At this moment, in a large river in the forest.
The tigress emerged from the water, clutching a piece of white, jade-like stone.
The tigress has now successfully evolved into a spirit beast, and its appearance has also undergone some changes.
Its once vibrant orange fur had turned snow-white, and its originally dark brown pupils had been tinged with a faint blue, making it look exactly like a strange beast.
After waking up in the hot spring, the tigress was unaware of the changes in herself, because in her vision there were only cool colors of black, white and gray, so she did not notice the changes in her appearance.
However, it was very aware of other changes in its body, especially the enormous power that had gathered within it, which made it very happy.
After becoming a spirit beast, the tigress's intelligence improved considerably, and her thinking became more agile.
It quickly determined that the reason it became stronger was the hot spring water that it had soaked until it dried up, and the small fish in the hot spring.
Seeing that there was only a shallow amount of water, barely the height of a tiger's hand, the tigress did not hesitate to scoop up the three pitiful spirit fish that were struggling to swim and eat them all at once.
Before leaving, the tigress dug out the gleaming white stones at the bottom of the hot spring.
This thing is rich in spiritual energy, so the tigress naturally wouldn't ignore it. If it weren't for the fact that she couldn't bite it, she would have finished it in a few bites long ago, instead of having to carry it around so painstakingly.
Although they couldn't eat it, the tigress couldn't bear to throw away the peculiar stone. She thought she would take it back for her cubs to play with, as the stone was quite rare and her cubs would probably love it.
With her strength greatly increased, the tigress carried the stone and dived back into the water. This time, she was not helplessly swept away by the undercurrent. Using her experience, she chose the most advantageous spot in the riverbed and successfully emerged from the underground river, returning to the forest.
The tigress, back on shore, quickly shook her fur. Her snow-white fur was soft and resilient, reflecting tiny glimmers of light in the sunlight, which gathered around her to form a faint halo.
The tigress looked at the light on her body with some surprise, but the light disappeared when the sun was no longer shining on her. The tigress curiously chased after the sunlight a few times, but then lost interest.
Suddenly, a patch of snow on the riverbank caught the tigress's attention. The mysterious white tiger walked to the snow and stretched out its furry paws to scratch at it.
The sika deer, which had only a small patch of fur showing, was dug out by the tigress. Looking at the sika deer, which was frozen stiff, the tigress's eyes showed obvious curiosity.
It saw colors different from anything it had seen before!
In fact, the tigress should have noticed the sunlight when she first saw it, but the sunlight, disturbed by the wind and snow, was very faint and not as bright as in summer. The tigress's attention was focused on her own halo, so she naturally ignored the faint golden light brought by the sunlight.
The sika deer's fur is very vibrant, and a touch of life suddenly enters the tigress's usually desolate and cold world.
How can you not make it notice and become curious?
After completely digging out the sika deer, the tigress lay on the snow, holding the hard, sturdy deer, sniffing and examining it. Finally, she confirmed that this was the deer she usually hunted!
But why... is it different now?
The newly awakened tigress couldn't find the answer for herself; her mind was full of questions. She wouldn't dwell on things she couldn't understand right now, thinking she'd ask her sister and mate when she saw them.
With that thought, the tigress felt more at ease. She hugged the hard sika deer and took a few bites, then threw it away with great disgust.
This sika deer is not very new; it was one of the creatures that unfortunately fell into the river when the large crevice appeared. As an ordinary deer, it died the moment it fell into the river.
