The humans who used to be familiar with it no longer liked it; they were afraid of it, wanted to hit it, and even wanted to kill it.
It didn't know why this was happening; it had just grown up again. It didn't understand; it wasn't a bad dog that bit people.
"Ah Fu, Yao Yao and I are leaving tomorrow. You can go up from here. Here, try climbing up from here." The old woman carried the ladder from the cellar and pointed it out to Ah Fu.
Afu understood. It's much smarter than before. Looking at where its owner pointed, it happily climbed the ladder, thinking it could go out and play with its little owner.
It has grown bigger and stronger, and can now carry its little owner around the yard again, just like before.
Although it wasn't easy to climb, Afu was able to make it to the top. Seeing that Afu had reached the top, the old woman quickly called for him to come down.
Afu didn't understand, but it still obediently returned to its owner's side and squatted down to wait for commands.
"Ah Fu, I know you're very smart..." The old woman stroked the big yellow dog that had been with her for over ten years, and her cloudy eyes gradually welled up with tears.
"Tomorrow when it gets dark, you go up there, just like you did before, understand?"
Afu understood and let out two soft whimpers; its owner didn't like it barking loudly anymore.
"Sigh..." The old woman poured the dog food into the basin, climbed out of the cellar, and did not close the cellar door, but only slightly covered it.
The next morning, the villagers, carrying backpacks and luggage, stepped into the snow outside the village one after another.
The already quiet village became instantly silent.
As evening fell, the wooden door to the cellar was pushed open with a bang, and a fluffy dog's head popped out. The big yellow dog ran happily into the front yard.
Endless snow fell, and the deserted village was devoid of any human presence.
Like many people in this village, there are quite a few who choose to leave their homes. Half a month of wind and snow, and the continuously dropping temperature, have turned the entire northern part of Xia Kingdom into a snow country.
Human caravans, originating from all directions, are like migrating herds of animals in the forest, constantly converging and moving forward.
Humans and birds and beasts alike are all heading south.
…………
From darkness to dawn, and then from dawn to darkness.
The massive herd of beasts marched steadily southward, not fast but not slow either, having already crossed six mountain peaks in five days.
Keep in mind that this was in an environment where the snow was one or two meters deep, so this speed was already very fast, but the mountains in the primeval forest seemed endless, one after another.
Lin Qian looked at the distant, snow-white mountain peaks with some unease.
Are the primeval forests in the north really that big?
Is this really the forest he thought it was?
Lin Qian's wavering and doubts were not wrong. This was indeed not the forest he remembered, or rather, this world was not the world he originally lived in.
But he couldn't possibly have known all this before he came into contact with humans. And now the world has changed so much, even if he comes into contact with humans in the future, he probably won't have much of a chance to know.
However, this forest was not much different from what he remembered, only about half the size of the forest he thought it was. The continuous mountain range was entirely formed after the earthquake.
The world's tectonic plates and landforms have undergone tremendous changes. If it weren't for the heavy snow covering the ground, Lin Qian would have been able to discern the changes from the newly turned earth.
Unfortunately, during the earthquake, when the mountains rose and the terrain changed, Lin Qian was trapped in the underground river and was unaware of the changes in the outside world.
Despite the dramatic changes in topography, the fact that the south is warmer than the north remains unchanged.
Even though it's snowing in the south now, the temperature hasn't dropped any further after it reached -25°C.
Compared to the near-minus 60°C temperatures in the north, the south is still quite warm.
Before the earthquake, the lowest temperature in the Arctic was only -70 degrees Celsius. Now, the North Pole is almost becoming another Arctic.
The sunshine was becoming increasingly brief, and Lin Qian looked at the clouds gathering in the sky, a premonition of an impending blizzard creeping into his heart.
The atmosphere among the animals gradually became oppressive, and many of them would look up at the sky from time to time, as if they were feeling something.
Tiger Dad narrowed his eyes, leaped out, and returned with a plump wild boar in just over ten seconds.
Each family member kept a distance of fifty meters from the herd, neither too close nor too far, making hunting very convenient.
Tiger Dad's deployment was not the only one; a new round of hunting had already begun in this long, seemingly endless migrating herd.
