Chapter 16 Lushuhaige.net

The doe slowly appeared in the moonlight, her head bowed. She twitched her lips, sniffing the dampness of the river and the unique fishy smell of the riverbank—the smell of food.

Then a male deer with thick, dark brown antlers resembling old tree branches appeared behind the female deer.

Those huge antlers were intimidating; at least, Tiger Mom didn't want to get poked by those hard antlers.

Beside the stag followed two still-young fawns, their young bodies dotted with white fur, looking innocent and endearing. Their wet eyes held a hint of timidity, yet also a sense of wonder at the world.

Reindeer have few natural predators. They are large, muscular, and live in large herds, making them less likely to be preyed upon by small carnivores such as foxes and weasels.

Only a few large predators, such as wolves, brown bears, tigers, and leopards, often include them in their diet and pose a threat to them.

Because of their large population, they are relatively safe most of the time.

Summer is a short period of solitary life for reindeer, during which some reindeer will leave the herd to care for their calves or enjoy fresh food on their own.

This is also why Tiger Mom hunts reindeer at this time; if faced with a large herd of reindeer, she would probably be powerless.

Upon seeing the reindeer family of three, the tiger mother's deep tiger eyes immediately revealed a cold joy.

She was very pleased with the flesh and blood of the reindeer family; it was a rare delicacy.

But instead of making a move, she chose to remain hidden, waiting for the perfect moment to strike.

The tiger mother lay quietly, trying her best to hide her presence, afraid that she might accidentally scare away this delicious family.

At that point, she might not be able to catch even a baby reindeer, let alone an adult one.

Reindeer calves can walk and run within hours of birth. Although the two calves that appear at this time are not large, they can run almost as fast as their adult parents.

Once they spot her, this delicious meal will be gone, and the chances of finding the next suitable prey are slim.

One failure, and she might go home empty-handed tonight.

Although the fawn was timid and hesitant, it clearly lacked sufficient vigilance.

But the tiger mother's target wasn't the two young reindeer, nor was it the strong, aggressive male reindeer; her best target was the female reindeer.

The doe has no powerful antlers to intimidate her, nor a strong physique to resist her fierce attacks, but a carcass of venison is enough to satisfy her appetite, making her the best prey.

Without the threat of brown bears, today's adult caribou are clearly not vigilant enough. At first, they cautiously looked around, but soon lost their guard as they searched for food.

As the doe's panicked hooves sounded, the terrifying, foul-smelling jaws of the tiger were already rapidly approaching its neck. Only then did it frantically try to change direction, attempting to escape this fatal blow.

But it was too late. The Siberian tiger's enormous bite force and sharp teeth have always been invincible, and the female deer's strong spine was powerless against such a terrifying tiger's jaws.

The spine was broken, and the beautiful deerskin was torn apart by tiger claws in the next instant.

Faced with this shocking turn of events, the male reindeer and fawn quickly fled into the depths of the forest. They not only did not come to the rescue of their kin, but they did not even look back.

This is the nature of normal wild animals; survival is always their top priority.

The tiger mother ignored the fleeing reindeer father and son, her heavy tiger body pressing tightly against the female reindeer, quietly sensing her final struggle for life.

This is its desired prey, and it has successfully obtained it.

Having suffered a fatal attack, the female reindeer could not bear the weight of the tigress; her slender limbs buckled, and she collapsed onto the riverbank with a thud.

The doe fell, and the tiger mother skillfully bit into the doe's warm neck. Warm blood gushed out and flowed down her jaws.

The innocent deer eyes were filled with despair. The female reindeer struggled with her last bit of strength, kicking her hooves as if trying to break free, or perhaps she was silently mourning.

The tiger mother's icy gaze fell upon the deer's body. Then, her broad tiger paws gripped the doe's open wound, and her sharp claws instantly tore through the doe's flesh.

A mournful cry of deer suddenly rang out, followed by a defiant wail, after which the riverbank returned to silence.

Tiger Mom has broken her perfect hunting record once again.

A cool night breeze ruffled the tigress's brown fur. The mother tiger squinted her eyes contentedly, her white-spotted ears twitching deftly. The joy of a successful hunt was intoxicating for her.

Tiger Mom lowered her head and stuck out her scarlet tongue, which was covered in barbed edges, to lick the sweet deer blood. Her throat churned with longing pleasure as she took a deep breath; the deer meat smelled very sweet.

This was an extremely enjoyable meal. The delicious venison put the tiger mother in a good mood, and she even couldn't help but sway her tail gently.

After eating some venison leg meat, the tiger mother carried the remaining venison back to the tiger den with extremely cheerful steps.

She couldn't wait to see her lovely children, and tonight's meal would surely be the best meat they had ever eaten.

Seeing their mother tiger return with a deer in her mouth, the two tiger cubs immediately ran over, and Lin Qian affectionately rubbed against her mother's leg.

Aww! We're having venison today!

Courage was happily barking around Tiger Mom.

Ever since I started eating meat, I've had an insatiable craving for it, and I'm always incredibly enthusiastic about eating meat.

Lin Qian also tilted her little head up, looking at the venison expectantly.

Seeing her hungry cubs, the tiger mother immediately began tearing at the doe's belly.

When it was feeding, it prioritized eating the limbs, leaving the female deer's main body intact, so that it could bring back the internal organs whole.

Tiger cubs that have just started eating meat mostly eat internal organs. Other parts of the meat are still quite difficult for them to eat, but they are not unable to eat them.

Lin Qian and Yong Qi were soon and happily given their share of fresh deer offal.

Courage opened its mouth wide and bit down hard, making Xiang's little tail wag.

With a fresh deer heart placed before his mouth, Lin Qian immediately forgot all his worries and took a bite.

Unbelievable! I, Lin Qian, actually managed to eat deer heart! Amazing!

The mother tiger watched her cubs eat and a satisfied look appeared on her face.

As for giving the deer heart to Lin Qian, it was indeed Tiger Mom's own selfish reason. Internal organs are the best tonic for wild animals, and the heart is second to none. Tiger Mom wanted to give Lin Qian more nourishment.

The sight of Lin Qian vomiting blood was shocking and unforgettable for the tiger mother. The scars on the cub's body had not yet faded, and the tiger mother developed an unprecedented bias towards Lin Qian.

Unaware of the changes in herself, the tiger mother lowered her head and began to tear at the venison. Having learned from the previous tragic lesson, the tiger mother dared not leave her cubs for too long, so she had only eaten half full by the river earlier.
