Chapter 184 Shopping Mall

This time, the golden tortoises were no longer idle. One golden tortoise flew back into the air to keep watch, while the rest found some ruins and began to rummage through them. The golden tortoises were just as fast as Lin Qian when they rummaged through the ruins, and the gripping force of their tortoise claws was terrifying.

"Awooo." Lin Qian saw that the goldfish had gone to work, so he didn't delay and turned around to have the chipmunk carry the salt to the boy.

As the tiger approached, the boy was no longer afraid. He didn't know if he had gotten used to it or if he had developed a slight fondness for the magical white tiger.

Ignoring the boy's changing mood, Lin Qianke gestured to the chipmunk.

The chipmunk slapped the salt in front of the boy, spilling some of the fine white salt.

The little guy puffed out his cheeks, put his little hands on his hips, and looked up at the boy fiercely.

"Squeak!" Human, hand over the salt!

Squeak, salt, no mistake, a word the mouse just learned.

The boy stared blankly at the chipmunk in front of him. Although the little guy looked fierce, it was really cute. Even when it was baring its teeth and claws, it was still incredibly adorable.

As expected of a creature hailed as a forest sprite, it poses no threat whatsoever.

As a spirit beast, the chipmunk has very keen senses. When it realized that the human in front of it showed no fear of it, the little guy was furious.

The fluffy little body turned around, hugged the tiger's leg, and howled.

"Squeak!" King Tiger, this person is bullying the mouse!

Lin Qian sighed and shoved the mouse off his leg. "Sigh, stupid mouse, what's the use of complaining? It's because you're too cute. It's not afraid of you at all."

Chipmunks still have some attack power these days; their little claws are quite sharp.

But perhaps due to its habits, the little guy hardly ever uses force, seemingly unaware that it is no longer the helpless mouse it once was.

The chipmunk became withdrawn; the little guy felt he had fallen out of favor and was no longer the tiger king's favorite subordinate.

Although, Lin Qian currently only has one subordinate, the chipmunk...

Courage snorted and turned away from Tiger Head.

It won't help; in the forest, without power, you have no status!

Look, even a weak human can bully a mouse. If you don't work harder, don't say you're a mouse belonging to our tigers in the future!

The boy stared blankly at the chipmunk and the tiger.

How come chipmunks aren't afraid of tigers?!

If he understood correctly, this chipmunk was clinging to the tiger's leg to complain?!

The boy was incredibly surprised. He wasn't familiar with tigers, but he knew about chipmunks, as some of his classmates had kept them as pets before.

Of course, this wasn't the most amazing thing. What surprised and puzzled the boy the most was the tiger's indulgence of the chipmunk. In his mind, tigers were ferocious beasts.

Regardless of whether the boy was surprised or not, Lin Qianke pointed with her tiger claw and growled at him.

"Awooo." Kid, behave yourself, or you'll regret it.

As the fierce tiger's head drew near, the boy's mind went blank, and he couldn't think of anything.

Seeing the boy's pale face, Lin Qian realized she had frightened him, so she silently took a step back and nudged the bag of salt on the ground.

The boy snapped out of his daze, but still stared blankly, not understanding what Lin Qian meant.

Lin Qian picked up the salt and gestured to it again.

If he still doesn't understand, he won't waste any more time. There are plenty of living people in this city; he can just find another one.

As for communicating through writing, well, Lin Qian isn't that stupid.

Sensing danger, the boy snapped to attention and realized what was happening.

"I, I have, I have salt!" he stammered loudly, nodding his head vigorously, as if afraid the tigers wouldn't see him.

He could tell that the tiger in front of him was different from the beasts he had encountered before; they were more intelligent.

"Ouch!" Go get it!

Lin Qian growled, not caring whether the other person understood or not, but that was the gist of it.

The main purpose of doing this is to teach Stepmother and Courage that when they encounter humans in the future, they will need to communicate with them.

The boy quickly retrieved salt from the dilapidated house—a bag full of salt and an opened packet; it seemed he had taken out all the salt.

Lin Qian was pleased with the boy's cleverness. He nodded and told the chipmunks to put them away, indicating that the boy should take them with him to continue searching for salt.

The boy froze for a moment, gritted his teeth, and pointed in one direction.

"There's salt here."

Lin Qian nodded his tiger head to indicate that he understood.

The boy hesitated for a moment, then took a tentative step. Finding that the tiger did not move, he took a few more steps before finally running.

The three tigers followed the boy and soon arrived at a dilapidated building that looked like a shopping mall, with many signs and advertisements on the ground.

Walking to a corner, the boy cautiously glanced at the tigers. "There's a supermarket here, on the basement level... inside, there's a lot of salt."

Although he didn't know if the tigers could understand, the boy still spoke firmly: the rest of the city had already been searched thoroughly.

Only the supermarket in this shopping mall was buried very deep on the basement level. Without the help of machinery, humans could not dig out the ruins, so the supplies in this area were the best preserved. Not only the supermarket, but all the shops on the basement level were buried underneath.

Of course, these were all things the boy heard from others; he wasn't from this city and wasn't familiar with the street layout.

Lin Qian looked up and quietly glanced at the nervous boy. He could tell that the boy wasn't lying. After thinking for a moment, he understood why the boy had brought them here.

Ruins that are impossible for humans to disturb are not difficult for them. The boy had brought them here because he had seen him rummaging through the ruins before.
