Chapter 261 Coastal Status

"Aww." Stop howling, let's see if there's a shopping mall or underground warehouse.

Although he had already predicted the outcome, since he was already here, Lin Qian had no choice but to bravely check everything. Sure enough, his spiritual sense confirmed that there was no underground storage in the entire ruins.

Unable to find any resources, Yongqi angrily knocked down a crumbling wall.

Lin Qian sighed silently. Their water was almost gone, and things were not going to get good if this continued.

Although they can find prey and replenish their water from fresh flesh, they will still feel very uncomfortable if they don't drink water for a long time.

————

Not far from the coastal park.

One after another, the massive sea beasts lay on the ground.

Sea monsters collapsed to the ground in dense numbers, each with two to four long black feathers stuck in its body. The feather shafts were transparent yet sharp, reflecting a chilling aura under the silvery moonlight. Then, they silently transformed into specks of spiritual energy, gradually dissipating into the night wind.

"Fluttering"—one after another, large black birds circled under the moonlight, slowly landing on the withered branches.

"quack--"

Their distinctive calls identify the flock of these large, black raptors.

Without a doubt, this is a flock of crows.

The mutated crows underwent a dramatic change in size; they were no longer small, black fists, but enormous, resembling eagles.

A massive raven with scarlet eyes stood atop a dilapidated sculpture in the park; it was the king of the flock of ravens and a spirit beast.

The once bustling park is now just a desolate bay, and the coastline has long become a paradise for marine animals. Apart from their natural predators, no living creature is willing to approach this place.

These mutated crows are predators that hunt sea monsters.

Marine mammals developed new limbs during their evolution, enabling them to leave the sea and set foot on land.

But the sky remains their forbidden zone. Birds, born with the ability to fly, look down arrogantly at these mindless uninvited guests and quickly add them to their diet.

The crows shouldn't be living on the coast, but driven by the extreme temperatures, they came here, encountered marine mammals, and found a chance to survive.

In the eyes of the mutated crow flock, both mutated and demonized sea beasts are food. They do not mind the rapidly decaying demonized sea beasts, as they have evolved to be even more adept at scavenging.

The only difference between the two types of sea creatures is that the mutated sea creature tastes better.

"quack."

Two robust crows flew over, carrying a huge mutated sea beast. This was a type of sea beast that crows loved to eat, not because of the quality of the meat, but because the flesh of this mutated sea beast contained more blood, which was naturally the best food for the crow flock that was dehydrated.

The two crows put down their prey, bowed their heads respectfully, and then turned and left to eat.

The giant raven leader lowered its scarlet eyes and quietly watched the coastline, which had temporarily returned to calm.

Its jet-black, metallic beak reflected a cold light in the moonlight, and the hard sea monster's head was no match for its pecks. A chaotic stench surged out and dispersed into the sea breeze.

It was as if sharp, giant claws forged from steel had pressed down on the sea monster's head, and with a gentle twist, the sea monster's skull rolled to the side.

Fresh animal blood gushed from the severed throat bone, soaking the dark red, parched ground.

Sharp claws tore through tough animal hide, and with each peck of its beak, large chunks of flesh were ripped away. The fresh food made the giant raven leader half-close its eyes in enjoyment; the restrained crimson color softened under the moonlight, revealing a hint of human-like contentment.

"Whoosh—"

A loud roar came from the shore in the night wind—the sound of water breaking through the surface.

The visitor is not friendly.

The giant raven leader was displeased that its feeding pleasure had been interrupted. Its scarlet eyes coldly swept across the shore. On the turbulent sea, before the ripples had subsided, a huge creature leaped up once more.

"Ah—"

With a deafening roar, the enormous figure reflected in the moonlight appeared on the sea surface for only a second before sinking back into the water.

But the giant crow felt a chill run through its body!

"quack!!!"

"Gaga...gag..."

The splashing sound of the falling water triggered a chorus of panicked crows, all of whom were terrified by the figure leaping out of the sea.

The giant raven slowly closed its beak, which had been open in fright and cawing. It ignored the unfinished dinner on the ground, spread its huge black wings, and cried out anxiously, summoning its flock to leave.

The flock of crows snapped out of their daze at their leader's call and spread their wings to follow.

The crows' feeding was interrupted halfway through, and their hard-earned harvest was left on the ground. Only a few clever crows took the prey away and waited to find a safe place to continue feeding.

Before the crows' tails had even left the bay, ripples appeared again on the sea, growing larger and larger, as if something was about to emerge.

The flock of crows seemed to sense something, and cried out again, flapping their wings even more vigorously as they flew forward.

The giant crow leader kept cawing at the front to prevent the flock from being frightened by the danger and losing their way, thus causing them to break away from the group.

The sense of danger grew stronger, and after the flock of crows flew away from the bay, the ripples on the sea were broken again with a loud bang.

"Ahhhhhh!!!"

It was still the same enormous sea beast, its familiar roar now filled with immense pain, its howl echoing through the night sky and startling countless fierce birds into flight.

The enormous sea beast finally revealed itself under the moonlight. Its silvery-white horn shone brightly in the moonlight, and the flowing spiritual light was incredibly mysterious. Upon closer inspection, it also had the characteristics of a shark.
