Chapter 4 Loot

Forest predators are natural gamblers.

Every hunt, every pursuit, every battle involves a huge element of luck.

Successful hunting often requires immense patience.

Water sources are gathering places for animals, and animals often come to drink water; even if there are no deer, there will be other animals.

Now, she needs to lie in wait here patiently for the right prey to appear.

As one of the most experienced hunters in the jungle, Tiger Mom is not lacking in patience.

She walked slowly along the riverbank, following the wind direction to find the best hiding place to wait for the hunt.

Just then, a night breeze blew from the other side of the river.

A faint, inexplicable, stirring fragrance wafted in the air.

Tiger Mom sniffed, and the unique fragrance instantly whetted her appetite, making her even more eager to follow the wind.

The fragrance dissipated in the wind, and Tiger Mom stood anxiously by the river, her tense body warily watching the opposite bank.

Thinking of the enormous size of that adult brown bear, the tiger mother hesitated.

An unbearable itch deep within her bones tempted her, making her eagerly follow her instincts to pursue that fragrance, but her maternal instincts and caution restrained her.

It's not a good idea for a nursing tigress to leave her cubs for too long. Her maternal instincts tell her that she should wait for prey on the riverbank and then return home as soon as possible.

But as the fragrance carried by the wind grew stronger, Tiger Mom felt her blood boiling. Unable to suppress the desire in her veins, she plunged into the river and swam quickly towards the other side.

The fragrance, carried by the wind, gradually spread along the riverbank, then slowly faded away.

As the wind rustled, the night, which should have been peacefully welcoming the dawn as usual, gradually fell into a deep silence.

Tiger Mom emerged from the icy river water, having regained some of her composure.

Looking at the forest she rarely ventured into, and smelling the faint, lingering fragrance in the wind, Tiger Mom decided to follow the scent and go investigate.

In the darkness, Tiger Mom crouched low and cautiously approached little by little.

She was an extremely patient tiger who never acted rashly. Caution was her consistent approach and the secret to her survival in the forest.

The wind carried intermittent scents of the forest. When Tiger Mom smelled a familiar scent, she paused for a moment, then continued silently onward toward the heart of the forest.

After traveling some distance, the tiger mother could faintly hear the roars of wild animals, and from the sounds, she knew that a fierce battle was taking place ahead.

Among them were her hateful neighbor, the 'brown bear,' as well as several wolf howls and a familiar tiger roar.

There were even some cries from prey, oblivious to their own mortality.

The wind carried the scent of a powerful beast, which made the tiger mother hesitate once again.

Because the current situation is really too strange.

In her life experience, such a 'gang fight' had never happened before, and would never happen.

Even when reindeer herds migrate, everyone tacitly agrees to prioritize hunting the herds, and predators do not fight each other without reason.

Powerful predators have long since developed a tacit understanding in the struggle for survival in nature.

They divided up their territories, observed their respective hunting times, and never engaged in pointless and foolish conflicts.

But now, jackals, wolves, tigers, and leopards have all gathered in the brown bear's territory and are fighting each other!

Tiger Mom tilted her head and turned her not-so-bright brain.

For the first time, Hu Sheng felt lost.

"Awooo—!!"

A majestic tiger roar rang out, dispelling the mother tiger's doubts, and she chose to continue forward.

Of course, she remained cautious, even concealing her figure more perfectly.

When Tiger Mom arrived nearby, the wolves had already suffered a crushing defeat.

The wolf king's dark red blood seeped into the soil and fallen leaves under the cover of night, and the remaining wolves fled in disarray.

Two roe deer and a male deer with huge antlers were lying in the grass not far away.

The scalding blood had begun to cool, and the flesh at the fatal wound was churning, emitting an extremely tempting smell.

A pair of pale yellow tiger eyes were hidden beneath the dense foliage, their hungry gaze fixed on the dying stag.

The tiger mom was considering whether or not to go up and steal one of her prey.

In the rules of jungle predators, there is never a first-come, first-served principle; only the victor reigns supreme.

She got it!

Although she didn't understand why so many herbivores were coming to their deaths, she clearly didn't want to know.

The hungry tiger mom just wanted to have a big meal right now.

The wolf pack retreated, but the brown bear and the tiger and leopard continued their fight.

Just as the three beasts were about to decide the winner, they discovered the arrival of the tiger mother, and the brown bear, who had lost an eye, was furious.

It recognized this neighbor; although she was a tigress, she was in her prime and not to be underestimated.

In its prime, it could naturally provoke the tigress without any scruples, but now it is surrounded by enemies and is injured.

The powerful male tiger and the lurking leopard were already difficult to deal with, but now that an adult tiger has arrived, the pressure has increased even more!

The male tiger, on the other hand, seemed somewhat excited. It held its chest high with imposing grandeur, its muscles taut, its fangs bared, poised to pounce.

That flamboyant and showy posture was like that of a peacock spreading its tail feathers.

The Far Eastern leopard in the tree looked at the tigress, then at the male tiger who was deliberately showing off his majesty, and a hint of fear appeared in its eyes.

The brown bear was injured, and its strength was already inferior to that of the tiger and the bear. Now that the two tigers were clearly working together, it had no chance of winning.

Tiger Mom snapped out of her reverie at this point, and the faint aroma once again drew her attention.

Its pale yellow eyes searched and finally settled on a wild fruit on the stone wall next to the brown bear's den.
