Chapter 51 Catching a Wild Rabbit

The sable's head is nearly round, with its nose and mouth protruding forward in a cone shape. There are also more than twenty long, straight, and elastic tactile hairs around its mouth.

It has short legs, five toes on each foot, and fleshy pads under its feet. Its body length is between 40 and 60 centimeters, and its tail can reach over 15 centimeters in length.

The sable's fur is not purple; its color varies from yellowish-brown to brownish-tan, with darker fur on its back and lighter fur on its chest and abdomen.

Some sables have almost black fur, hence they are also called black sables.

Under normal circumstances, sables mostly sleep soundly in their dens during the day, conserving their energy so that they can display their full power at night.

Sables are not docile pets. Most mustelids are fierce and, if not for their size, they are beasts that can rival felines.

Don't let its small size fool you; it's a genuine carnivore.

Of course, even the most audacious sable is powerless against the king of the forest.

Sure enough, the little guy, who was sleeping peacefully at home, was found by his tiger dad, grabbed and held in his hands, his life and death at his mercy.

The tiger father's paws pressed down on the sable, his majestic roar carrying a hint of affection.

"Roar." This little guy is more agile than a rabbit. You can play with it for now. If you don't like it, Daddy will find you a new one.

Looking at the sable under the tiger's paws and listening to what the tiger father meant, Lin Qian felt a warmth in his heart.

"Wow~" Thank you, Dad! Dad, you're amazing!

The tiger father received a reply from his cub, and his tail swayed happily behind him.

Then it lowered its head and stretched out its tiger paws, indicating to Lin Qian that it would bite off the sable's hind leg.

This is the most effective way for tiger fathers to train their cubs and weaken the prey's aggressive behavior.

The little sable looked weak and pitiful under the tiger's paws, but Lin Qian felt no pity this time.

He had deeply felt his father's dedication to teaching him, how could he possibly let him down?

The cub's paw pressed down on the big tiger's paw, and the cub's milk teeth decisively bit into the sable's hind leg.

With a soft "click," the sable's painful howl ended.

This once incredibly lively forest sprite is now crippled.

Tiger Dad looked at his cub with satisfaction at his decisive action, and licked Lin Qian's little head with his thick, scarlet tongue as encouragement.

Tiger Dad's grooming skills have now reached a certain level, and Lin Qian no longer finds them offensive.

Day after day, three days passed.

The forest has completely returned to normal, and apart from many animals being noticeably fatter, there seems to be no other difference.

The morning breeze carried a slight chill, adding to the atmosphere of parting and making it feel even colder.

The tiger mother narrowed her eyes slightly, rubbing her head against her mate's neck with reluctance.

But she knew that her father had been staying by her side for far too long.

Lin Qian felt a little listless when she learned that Tiger Dad was leaving.

Tiger Dad's companionship is irreplaceable for him and his courage; he really enjoys the feeling of the whole family being together.

However, tigers must follow certain rules in order to survive and reproduce well in the wild; this is a necessary but unavoidable measure.

Finally, in the morning sun and dew, Tiger Dad bid a reluctant farewell to his wife and children, and once again embarked on the lonely road that belonged to a king.

This time, the Tiger King felt an extra layer of attachment compared to before.

"Whoosh whoosh whoosh~" The soft hopping sounds echoed through the bushes.

Two pale yellow tiger cubs swiftly darted through the dense bushes, one after the other, their movements agile and rapid.

Why did the two tiger cubs run away?

Looking up, I saw a snow-white rabbit frantically running away ahead.

Oh, so the two brothers were catching wild rabbits.

Now that Lin Qian and Yongqi have reached the size of five months old, they have officially begun to try hunting.

No medium or large animals approached the pond, but there were quite a few small animals such as rabbits and mice.

After several months of training and rapid physical growth, Lin Qian naturally stopped focusing on the form of training and turned his attention to actual combat.

This was the first time the two brothers had reached their little paws at the rabbit.

Having already been inspired by his father, Tiger, Yongqi had a lingering fondness for rabbits. So when his older brother called, he naturally agreed with great joy.

The two brothers searched for a long time in the grass before finally finding a rabbit hole.

Although the rabbits found their home, they were very clever and didn't give the two brothers a chance to meet.

However, Lin Qian wasn't a true "tiger cub." With a quick thought, he blocked several rabbit burrow entrances, leaving only one open. Then he called on Yonggan and Patience to hide at the entrance, waiting for the rabbits to come out.

After waiting patiently for most of the day, a plump, snow-white rabbit finally peeked out furtively.

As soon as the rabbit cautiously left its burrow, two tiger cubs rushed out, one blocking the hole and the other pouncing on the rabbit.

The plan was good, but rabbits that can survive in the wild are not fools who will be easily captured.

This adult rabbit also has its own way of surviving. Seeing that it couldn't go back to the rabbit hole, it simply pushed off with its hind legs and ran away into the distance.

Lin Qian and Yong Qi couldn't bear to watch the rabbit they had painstakingly guarded escape, so they immediately gave chase.

This resulted in the scene of two tiger cubs chasing a rabbit.

The mother tiger lay in the pool, watching the two cubs dart past. She yawned lazily, then got up helplessly, stood up from the pool, and followed slowly behind, not getting too close.

When the tiger cubs attempt their first hunt, the mother tiger simply watches from the sidelines, ensuring their safety.

Whether it can catch prey or not, it doesn't care.

As Lin Qianliang was giving chase, an uninvited guest appeared in front of the rabbit.

A lynx.

The lynx, which was strolling on the branches searching for prey, twitched its ears and heard the movement of a hare. It was delighted, thinking that its food for the day was secured.

The lynx naturally saw the two pale yellow tiger cubs behind it, but it didn't care.

Although a five-month-old tiger cub is no longer within its hunting range, it is not something it can be afraid of.

The lynx resembles a cat in appearance, but is much larger, belonging to the medium-sized predators.

Lynxes weigh between 15 and 35 kilograms, have a body length of 80 to 130 centimeters, and a tail length of 16 to 23 centimeters. They have a stout body, relatively long limbs, and a short, thick tail.

Lynxes are exceptionally agile and adventurous, making them formidable predators in the forest.

Seeing the hare about to run up to it, the shrewd lynx naturally wouldn't let the opportunity slip by, knowing that every hunting opportunity in the forest is extremely rare.

The lynx glanced warily at the tiger cubs, and upon confirming that it did not see any adult tigers, it immediately focused all its attention on the rabbit in front of it.

As the rabbit drew closer, the lynx became excited, as if it could already see the rabbit dying in its jaws.

Lin Qian and Yong Qi were focused on chasing the hare and obviously did not notice the hunter who suddenly appeared from the tree.

This is also due to the lack of experience among the tiger cubs.
