Chapter 58 Chipmunk

The tigress, carrying a half-grown doe back in her mouth, looked at her two affectionate cubs and her eyes immediately softened.

Upon seeing the deer, Lin Qian and Yong Qi immediately ran towards it. There would be venison!

The tiger mother originally wanted to catch a large live "toy" for her cubs to use for training.

Unexpectedly, the fawn struggled fiercely, and the tiger accidentally killed it with a single swipe of its paw.

Since she'd already caught it, the tiger mom naturally wouldn't waste it; bringing it back would be a good extra treat for her cubs.

Lin Qian and Qiong extended their sharp claws and worked together to tear open the fawn's belly.

The two brothers worked together perfectly on the food, without a single flaw. They took turns tearing open the deer hide with their claws.

Seeing that the tiger cubs had successfully pulled out their internal organs, it seemed they didn't need any help.

The tiger cubs are growing very fast. Not only have they finished losing their baby teeth, but their canines are now sharp, and even their claws are fully grown.

Tiger Mom lay down to rest.

It wasn't interested in venison either; it had already eaten its fill outside and its belly was round and full, so it didn't need any more meat.

Smelling an unpleasant odor, Tiger Mom's eyes swept across the area and she immediately spotted the fox lying in the grass.

Guessing it was the cub's doing, a hint of relief appeared in the tiger's eyes; now, animals like foxes could no longer pose any threat to its offspring.

The tiger mother carried the fox to a tree branch some distance away and placed it there. Although fox meat wasn't very tasty, it was still meat, and she couldn't let it go to waste.

It'll probably just manage a couple of bites tomorrow; the tiger cubs should stick to venison.

After eating half a fawn, Lin Qian and Yongqi skillfully carried the venison to a tree branch and placed it there.

Since the new home is not a cave and there is no shady place to store the meat, placing it on a tree, which is relatively well-ventilated and shady, became the first choice.

With food supplies in hand, the tiger mother stopped hunting and spent her days leisurely in the pond.

The summer wind was scorching. Lin Qian looked at the sun that was suddenly blocked and the dark clouds that were gradually gathering. He knew in his heart that it was going to rain.

Summer showers come quickly; in no time, a series of pattering sounds rang out.

Lin Qian nestled in the enlarged pit, lying comfortably in the grass, and yawned contentedly.

The pit, which was originally only big enough to hold two tiger cubs, was dug up by Lin Qian every day with his little paws. Even the tigers' courage was taken over by Lin Qian's hard labor. He wouldn't release the tigers until he had dug for half a day.

The brothers have now dug the pit much deeper, making it twice as big as it was when the two tiger cubs first moved in.

Lin Qian laid a layer of fine dry branches at the bottom of the pit, and then placed a thick nest of grass on top of the branches. This "new bed" was modified and made very comfortable by Lin Qian.

Courage loves rain; it is always happy and excited when it rains.

The little tiger cub dashed out and got soaked in the rain, chasing and slapping the raindrops with its paws, having a great time.

It started raining, so the tiger mom stopped bathing in the pond. The big tiger got up and lay down under a tree to listen to the rain.

The rain shower came and went quickly; an hour and a half later, the sun reappeared in the sky, radiating its blazing light.

The grass was still wet with raindrops, and looked lush and green under the sunlight.

Suddenly, two loud "thumps" came from the tree.

Courage looked at the fruit falling from the tree, a hint of confusion in his tiger eyes, followed by curiosity and interest.

The little tiger cub immediately climbed up the big tree.

The courageous creature climbed the tree very quickly. The little guy, who had "accidentally" dropped some food on the tree, was so frightened when he saw the big guy climbing up the trunk that he dropped two more fruits with a "thump! thump!"

Lin Qian looked up and searched for a while before finally spotting a small, elusive figure hiding on a tree branch.

A chipmunk with bulging cheeks.

Chipmunks are the smallest squirrels in the world, and also the biggest eaters.

Chipmunks weigh approximately 100 grams and are diurnal animals. Their tails are almost as long as their bodies. The fur on their backs is light yellow or orange-red, the fur on their sides is orange-yellow, and the fur on their bellies is dirty white with gray bases.

It has five dark stripes on its back, so it is also known as the Five-Eyebrows.

Courage quickly reached the tree, but the chipmunk seemed stunned, staring wide-eyed like a little elf, its chubby cheeks stuffed full, its short paws holding a fruit, looking blankly at the tiger cub that appeared before it.

"Woof woof!" Courage had a strong desire to tease small animals, and upon seeing this silly little thing, it immediately bared its teeth in a threatening manner.

The chipmunk then snapped out of its daze, tossed aside the fruit in its hand, and darted around to the tip of a thinner branch.

Such a thin branch is too difficult for a tiger to pass through. Although it is young, it is a tiger after all, not a little creature like a chipmunk.

If you dare to walk across, the branch will definitely break, and you'll fall flat on your face.

"Roar!!"

Seeing its "toy" escape its capture range, Courage growled angrily and threatened.

This chipmunk looks silly, but it doesn't seem to be afraid of the king of the forest.

Its big, round eyes blinked, and its chubby mouth moved, making a soft "squeak..."

Courage paused for a moment. This was the first time it had encountered a small animal that dared to roar back at it. In the past, the little guys would either scream in fright or run away as fast as they could when they saw it. They never had the courage to face it directly.

Courage became even more interested in the little creature in front of it and decided to keep the toy for a while longer after catching it.

The chipmunk, seeing the large creature baring its teeth and threatening it but unable to get close, instantly felt its fear and tension vanish.

The little guy plopped down on the treetop and even pulled a nut out of his mouth.

Chipmunks may be small, but they are very bold.

It is a little athlete in nature, agile and quick, and it is no wonder that it moves like a rabbit.

Courage stared in disbelief as the chipmunk kept pulling out nuts, seeds, and other food from its bulging mouth.

Its tiny brain simply couldn't understand how such a small creature, barely bigger than a palm, could fit so much food into its mouth.

Despite their small size, chipmunks have mouths that are like oversized suitcases, capable of holding all sorts of things.

You might think its mouth is already full, but it can actually keep stuffing as much as it can.

Chipmunks have cheek pouches, which allows them to carry food and store it in their burrows.

Lin Qian watched from under the tree for a while, and seeing that Yongqi remained in the same spot, she couldn't help but look up and call out to him.

What's that silly guy doing up there?

Hearing its brother's call, Courage snapped back to reality. It looked at the chipmunk that was calmly hiding in the treetop, bared its teeth and showed a fierce expression, but still couldn't do anything about the naughty little guy.

At that moment, the tiger mother called out from under the tree.

She's going to take the tiger cubs out to patrol the territory.
